We have been rebooked from VB to SSR. We've never stayed at this resort and were just wondering how we're going to like it. Can anyone give me the good, the bad, and the ugly? Our favorite resort is BCV. THANKS!

Check out my "SSR Downside?" thread below. I got some great responses on this same topic.

The resort has a condo-style design, similar to OKW in that regard. There are currently 4 individual buildings, each housing about 50 rooms. Parking is available right outside each building.

All of the buildings face Downtown Disney, but some rooms on the ends of the units do not have a balcony view of DD. Most do.

The four buildings surround a "Leisure Pool." There is also a main pool (with slide) located about 5-10 minutes away by food near the other hospitality buildings.

There is also a restaurant near the main pool. The restaurant is a bit of a disappointment at present. It is a counter-service establishment. Due to the low number of guests currently at SSR, they only have a handful of entrees on the menu each day.

No matter which room you stay in, the bus stop is only about 1-2 minutes from your door. By all accounts, bus service has been excellent and there are rarely more than one or two families on a bus.

There is a walking path to Downtown Disney--about 15 minutes away at a moderate pace.

There are 8 buildings currently under construction at SSR, so you will see safety barriers blocking off these areas. Some people have reported the construction as being a distraction. But most reported that it didn't bother them and that there was very little noise evident, if any.

Hope that helps.
