Have you ever vacationed here. What is there is do besides beach days if you go in the spring? Thanks

We've never been to Rehoboth Beach, but we always drive through there on Rt. 1 on our way to Ocean City Maryland. Rehoboth has some great outlets!! We like to stop and do a little shopping...they have an Abercrombie and a Hollister outlet, so if you have tweens/teens, this is a great place to stop!

You aren't too far from OC Maryland...about 20 minutes or so once you get out of the Rehoboth traffic. OC has a really nice, 3 mile long boardwalk. If you like crabs, we love Higgin's Crab House...it's a fairly traditional crab house, with paper on the tables...

My mother has a vacation home in Rehoth Beach. Besides the beach you have the outlet shopping, restaurants, and other shops. You can go over to the Lewis area and they have some cute shops and the ferry which will take you to Cape May. Oh, on the boardwalk at Rehoboth is a bunch of rides and games and the prices are great! My kids loved it there. You can also drive down to Bethany Beach which has some cool shops and restaurants. There is a pirate cruise that leaves from the Lewis area I believe. If you do a search on google you will find out more info on it and the rides in Rehoboth. It's a great place to visit and my kids really enjoy the area, they are 12 and 7. Let me know if you have any other questions.

to Cape May NJ. You can do the Victorian home tours , visit the shops, restaurants and if you take your car, you can go further up to Rt 9 and visit the Christmas shop and Botanical gardens. It's an awesome day trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for the all the advice so far. Sounds wonderful.

I've never actually vacationed there but have been "through" there a number of times while visiting OC, MD.

As stated, there is the outlet shopping. I don't think they are that great but this is from someone who lives 5 minutes from Potomac Mills Mall in Virginia. Rehobeth is a very nice beach town and I've never heard a bad thing about it.

All of the Delaware and MD beaches are still kind of "chilly" in the spring and they don't truly open up in full swing until May so, if you're not going to be able to go on the beach, you might run out of things to do. These beaches are not like Myrtle Beach which is very big, and very active all year round.

Oh I would love to see this. Is this close by?

About 2 hours down, maybe a little less if it's off season and less traffic going through OC. It's a nice day trip. Only downside is big black flies but think that's just in the summer.

May want to take food / picnic with you. As I recall, not much in the way of places to eat once you get south of OC.

BTW, we found restaurants to be very good in Rehobath, which is not always the case in touristy beach towns. Am guessing most of the good places are open year round but we've only visited in summer and don't know how much is going on in the spring.

We live in the Ocean City MD area and we love to drive up to Rehoboth Beach to eat and shop. The outlets are meh, but better than what I have in OC. In Rehoboth, our favorite place to eat is Go Fish!, a teeny tiny English restaraunt right on the main beach area that makes the best fish and chips.

Chincoteague Island is about 10 minutes south of OC, so about 45 minutes from Rehoboth. The Island has wild ponies and some great walking trails. The beach there is so wild, quiet and pristine. And don't forget to check out Berlin, MD. They have a historic district with tea rooms and some nice shopping. It's 7 minutes west of OC.

Drive down to Chincoteague to see the wild ponies. The beach there is beautiful.

If you're thinking of going to Ocean City MD, Assateague Island State Park (Maryland) is just a 20 minute drive away. And just like Chincoteage (and Assateague on the Virginia side) they have wild ponies, camping and hiking.

We were fortunate to see ponies on our trip there late last summer. They also have a beach. Looking forward to seeing more when we head down there Monday.

I haven't stayed or been to the beach/boardwalk at Rehoboth in years. We used to go ever summer when I was a teen. Loved their beach and boardwalk. I think we always looked forward to our day at OC though - and the long boardwalk there. The outlets didn't exist then, but were built soon after.

Check out the website www.rehoboth.com. You can find restuarants, and things to do. I live 15 minutes from Rehoboth and work in Rehoboth. There are many places to eat, cute shops and of course the beach. They have rides on the south end of the boardwalk (called funland). Are you staying right in Rehoboth on the boardwalk? Or are you renting a condominium? Rehoboth is a gay friendly area as the pp said. They do have their own private beach as well which is further down on the south end.
Will you be taking children?

We spend ours at Henalopin park. I love it therel. It is a mile or so before Rehoboth, but a park, less populated, there is parking, the beach is clean, family oriented. We have such a great fun time. For the boardwalk type fun, we park at Rehoboth area and do the shops etc.

The outlets are amazing fun, I even love the huge salvation army store there. I know nearby there is the fairie from Lewes, also wild horses someplacesouth,

I like a relaxing beach experience not the hectic, packed with bodies, easy parking, there are out door restroom, but kept clean when we were there, also water spigot to wash off the sand.

I am so hoping this year to take the grandson with my younger dd and kids,

The huge salvation army store is gone! It is know a liquor store, next to the small liquor store. You are definately right, even though the beaches get full....your not sitting on top of each other!

How sad, loved the great finds there. The last we were down the Disney Outlet was gone, but a new site was being constructed nearby. It has been at least 5 years.

I really liked the outlet with all the salsa too. You can eat and shop your way through Rehoboth area. There was a QVC OR HSN outlet too, but not impressed with the prices and items.

The Disney Outlet is still there. And QVC is still there too. Go in from time to time. All depends on what I'm looking for. I am headed up to Rehoboth next weekend. My parents live there and its SOOO nice. Can't wait to see the 2nd location that Nicola's is doing. Haven't been up there since Jan. Can't wait to get back there.
