Hi,

Ive just made some adrs for our trip in July. Weve never been to Ohanas but after looking at the menu is all sounded yummy. We also loved the Kona Cafe last year. There is just the two of us, DH and myself.

However DH is very very shy. We went last year to WCC and whilst I loved it, Dh cringed the whole way through esp when the server put a napkin hat on his head :scared1:

Ive just read that Ohanas have hula hoop competitions - please tell me these are not compulsory ! DH would not survive.

I would appreciate any comments about acitivites, menu and actual expereince.
Thanks

'Ohana Family Feast is great! The mood is much different that Whispering Canyon. No jokes, just great food. There are two games usually played - but mainly for the kids. Coconut races (pushing a coconut around the floor with a broom) and hula hoop. Neither is compulsory for adults nor children (and indeed adults aren't really invited except for support!).

In fact, if you eat later (8-9PM), you will most likely have a quiet dinner with no competition at all.

The food is great - wonderful appetizers and then skewers of beef, turkey, shrimp, sausage, etc. (selection will vary).

Pineapple with caramel sauce to top it off.

You'll love it, cousin (in Hawai'i, everyone is your cousin).

I love 'Ohana but WCC wouldn't be for me either. The games are for kids so your DH doesn't have to worry. :)

My DH hated WCC, because he could be considered shy as well, just not a big center of attention people kind of guy. With that being said, he LOVED O'Hanas! Definately go to O'Hanas!

So yummy! And nothing like WCC. The games and stuff are just fun for the kids. Ask for Grant. He is the best. And yes, no more pineapple with caramel sauce. I have a review of O'hana in my dining report. It is a must for us everytime.

We ate at Ohana's last Jan. and didn't care for it. We had early ADR and most of the skewered food was tough. We actually liked the starters the best. The chicken wings were very good. We had the Dining Plan then, so were got the kid's dessert, which is the world's largest snowcone in a beach pail. As for the games, since we were stuck in the back, by the entrance, by the time we got to the only game (the coconut/broom race) it had already started. Anyway, we won't be returning to Ohana's but on that same trip, we ate at Kona's and it is now one of our favs. We ate there in Jan. 05 and twice in Sept. 05. We also had dinner there last week. All our meals at Kona's have been dinners. The first time we ate there (Jan. 05) we were a little concerned about the look of the restuarant. It almost looks like a coffee shop-don't be fooled, the food is very good. Hope you have a great time, and great food. Enjoy!!

We were just at O'Hana's last week and it was wondeful. we have been several times before and always hope it won't change. The food did this year but it is still great. Your husband will not be embaressed. Jay

Ohana is great! Adults can just sit and eat uninterupted. The games are for the kids.. If you want... I did see a few adults get up and do the hula competition. Nothing is "egged on".

Ohana's was just o. k. for us probably our least favorite, but that's our opinion. It is nothing like WCC! I like to try everything at least once so I can decide for myself if it was a keeper! The bread pudding was really good! Good luck! :)

Ohana's is a wonderful experience. In no way should your DH feel put upon. We'll be making reservations for dinner on June 22 and possibly our last evening on July 2 we love it that much!! :cheer2:
