My trip keeps changing everyday, now,I'm considering 'Ohana. This is an adult's only trip.Is it loud?? We've been to Boma and some people consider it loud,so, Are they comparable? I just want DH to experience something different.I just figured he would like 'Ohana, since, he is a meat lover. Sorry,if this has been asked before, like I said before,I just didn't consider 'Ohana until today.

Thanks

We don't have kids, so all of our trips have been adults only so far. We had dinner at 'Ohana last fall and LOVED it. We were seated next to a window overlooking the Poly marina--just beautiful, and away from the kids' activities (hula hoops, coconut races). The food was wonderful--a huge lazy susan of appetizers includes wings, salad, seafood wontons (my favorite, and I am not big on seafood), veggies, rice, sauces. The skewers of meat and shrimp keep coming until you say stop. You can really customize your meal by combining items from lazy susan with different meats and sauces. We can't wait to go back in November.

'Ohana has a great Polynesian atmosphere with dark woods and tiki's and "flame flickering" lamps with nice views of the resort, lagoon and wayyyy off in the distance, the castle. The food is great. I love most of the appetizers and meats. The service is great and I eat here every trip. However. It is not a quite place. It is bustling with servers bringing over the carriers full of appetizers and then someone else comes by with the skewers of meats. Servers are often explaining to new guests how it all works and then because there are kids activities periodically, there are loads of rambuncious children waiting for something to happen. Then when it happens it can be quite loud with singing, chanting, dancing, parading and coconut sweeping!!! It is wonderfull fun but definately not quiet. Your best bet for a mellower time would be to make a reservation for opening time and be there a bit early. I have been sometimes when the restaurant is only a third full and it is much quieter.

My son and I went this past December and the year before my daughter and I ate there. We were sat well away from all the goings on, and it was fine, not loud at all. The food is delicious and plentiful.
We were seated in time to see the fireworks in MK this last time and it was beautiful.

As others have said, I don't think you'd have a problem with noise if you take either a late PS or an early PS. Another option would to request a table away from the games. The first time we went we were away from the hula contests, etc and had a very pleasant meal.

We had a PS for 8:00 PM and it was a little noisy once the hula hoop contest started or when the coconut races were taking place... but other than that, it wasn't too bad. The restaurant was full so it was completely quiet, there was a bit of noise, but it wasn't like you had to yell across the table :p

If you don't think you'll like the games and competitions ... just ask if you can sit away from it. I noticed there was one table of adults who were sitting right beside the aisle where they were holding the hula hoop competition ... and the lady holding the race knocked her hoop right into one of the diners... The manager came right over to apologize.
