We've been fans of WDW in September specifically because of low point DVC reservations and low crowds. The high heat however is a factor that's increasingly hard to ignore. So...tell me about October. We own at BCV so I know we'll need to secure a room at 11 mos r/t F & W. The point value is still "a value" but what happens to the crowds, the weather, the crowds, the love bugs, the crowds...:3dglasses

We usually go late October/early November so my info is only partial....

Weather has always been good. Still warm but not the high heat of summer. We haven't experienced hurricane weather but the season does officially last until November.

Crowds are pretty good. The exception is probably the weekends in EPCOT for Food and Wine.

Love bugs are usually late September but can definitely extend into October.

We've been in October 3 times and loved it. It's still pretty warm, but not too bad. It seemed to me it was more crowded the last time we were there - mostly because there were more groups from South America. LARGE tour groups of young people, so maybe there is a holiday there in Oct? Love bugs were pretty bad the last time, but my kids loved them. DDs would name them:rolleyes1 Now if they were called something else, probably not so "cute"... I, on the other hand, exterminated my share of the little pests!

We used to only go in October or January. We also used to get a week off school in October - no more. Now we go in summer or whenever we can due to school - and we like to go for 2 weeks. We have survived the heat and crowds in June, July and Christmas, so no I'm sure October would be a cinch!

And F&W is so much fun! It's more crowded on weekend evenings, but if you hit WS during the day, you can sample all kinds of great foods and drinks w/o the crowds! I miss going then...:sad2:
