Is this something you know ahead of time? How far in advance do you know? Is this just for the summer? Confused :confused3. I keep seeing it come up but not for the time we are there aug 5-11. Can someone school me on this and tell me how I know if something like this is going on while I'm there please? Thank you

Well, I'll do my best:

Lou Mongello's [Probable] Answer

Limited Time Magic brings you and your family new, unexpected magic each week of the year promising your group something new and exciting whether it be on a large scale like Cinderella Castle or something subtle yet very magical that will surely help create memories that you'll savor forever. Now, a visit to one of Disney's world-famous theme parks can be even more magical as if it were not magical enough!

My Version

Limited Time Meh is basically just a promotion to entice people to visit by offering a series of last-minute, poorly planned opportunities to spend money throughout the year. Occasionally, they'll do something somewhat big but usually those things are announced much earlier. Generally, LTM isn't something you'll know about until the Friday before your arrival date.

That was pretty good. :thumbsup2

Ok so does anyone have a good memory of this or a favorite limited time magic? I'm excited to see what will happen while we are there.

The Long Lost Friends events I think have generally been considered successes.

Our May trip had really good LTM activities. There was the May the Fourth Be With You Star Wars celebration at DHS and the special Cinco de Mayo Three Cabelleros meet in the World Showcase at Epcot. LTM was a total bust on our late January/early February trip, though.

This is what they had the middle of April.
This Disney Truck was at DtD.

They had a few items on the truck for sale that you could get at any other Disney Store. But it had a few t-shirts on the truck for $35 and I guess you couldn't get them anywhere else except on the Truck.

I could kick myself though for not getting the strawberry Mickey Ears they had the week before. They were really cute.

Love the pics? I can't wait to see what comes our way during our trip. Keep the pics and comments coming. popcorn::

We had the princes for the week of valentines day at Disneyland, from what I understand that's a pretty big deal. We also had a mardi gras celebration and Chinese New Year while we were there. I've been during the mardi gras before but the other 2 were cool.

I think LTM has been a mixed bag. Some of the weeks have had good offerings (I'm looking at you Long Lost Characters weeks and MK 4th of July fireworks), while others have been a total joke. To me, the big fail in this whole thing is the inconsistency in the offerings (some folks get special character meet and greets, while others get the opportunity to buy soup or ears... really?). There seems to be an inherent unfairness depending on what you get, and that just doesn't sit right with me for some reason.

Please can someone point me in the right direction to find out what's on offer for 13th aug for twi weeks. If its new or old characters etc we might move our plans around a bit. Thanks

One of the signature features of this promotion is that it is usually a surprise that is not announced until about two days before each week-long event. As a result, you can't do much to plan for them.

Thank you... what a shame. ... oh well

The one in January sucked. We were there and seen no one different than normal; therefore when we go in Sept we are going somewhere else on the day at HS when the villains are out.

You must not have been looking very hard heh.

Actually we were since we've got 3 little ones, maybe others had different experiences but we were unable to see anyone different than those we normally seen.

My family saw during this event, in Town Square at the front of MK: Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Prince John, Sheriff of Nottingham, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, Scrooge McDuck, Ludwig Von Drake, Big Bad Wolf, the Three Pigs, and Jiminy Cricket with Gepetto and Pinocchio. Sorry you missed it.
