Hi all...I am looking for a present for my DH for Christmas :santa: and am considering this as he loves his coffee strong. Are there any good deals left on this? Are they worth the money?

Thank in advance for your thoughts!

I don't know about the deals, but I will tell you that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Keurig!!! I would NEVER go back to scooping out coffee!!!!!
Now one thing I will say is that if your DH drinks more then 1 or 2 cups per day, it could get expensive, but for me, soooo worth it!:hippie:

I lovs my keurig! It makes a great cup of coffee!

The Keurig does NOT make a strong cup of coffee, even if you use the 'fill your own coffee' cup. Frankly, it tasted like instant to me and we tried several of the different coffee cups available.

I returned it less than 24 hours later.

I love strong coffee. I use a manual stove-top Bialetti espresso maker which makes about 10 ounces (4 or 5 shots) of espresso/very strong coffee. A nice morning ZING. I also have a Bialetti stove-top cappuccino/latte maker. Perfect for making one genuine double (2 shot) cappuccino in about 5 minutes. There probably isn't a single home in italy that doesn't have one of these babies on the stove.

Wow, I thought I liked strong coffee but I don't consider strong coffee and espresso to be the same thing. I love, love, love my Keurig. We went away last week for the holiday and all week we kept saying we wish we had packed the Keurig as a Mr. Coffee just didn't cut it. There are many strong blends available in k-cups. I buy from Amazon for the subscribe and save and have 4 boxes delivered monthly. You can also find boxes in the grocery stores and Walmart but they are more expensive. The only k-cup we have tried that we thought was just yucky were all of the hot chocolates. We've tried about 5 different brands and they were all gross.

It is definitely more expensive than regular coffee pots but they are more along the lines of a Starbucks coffee drink so I still am saving by not getting a $4 latte every morning.

I've been eying Keurig for over a year; haven't been able to bring myself to spend the money on one yet. JC Penney has them on sale now through Saturday. The slightly less fancy one (B40) is 99.99 with an additional 15% off coupon and $10 JC Penney GC rebate, so about $75 plus tax after rebate. The ad doesn't say if it includes any K cups. The fancier one (B60) is 129.99 (plus 15% off and $10 rebate).

I do have a Bialetti cappuccino maker that I should try to use more often.

I like dark roast coffees which some call strong coffee - just depends on the terminology you use. Have had a Keurig for a year and am pretty happy, once I found a couple coffees I like..... that seems to be the key. I've tried most of the dark roasts available from Green Mountain and like a couple of theirs as well as one they carry from Caribou.

If you do buy one for your husband, I would recommend buying a Keurig model that allows for several different size cups (mine has 3) so you can vary the strength of the cup you're making.

That said, IMO the best coffee is made with a French Press but the Keurig is so easy to use and it's nice to have a fresh cup in 15 seconds or so first thing in the a.m. :thumbsup2

We absolutely love the Kuerig in our house. For those who like really strong coffee, I recommend Coffee People brand. The website is as you would think. They have a great seasonal really strong kcup right now called Santa's Buzz, plus plenty of others they have regularly.

DH makes the biggest of the three cup option, and it still tastes good and strong, comparable to Dunkin Donuts coffee.

I have read nothing but great reviews for the Keurig, and I hope they are right, that is what I got my DH for Christmas. (He has tried them before and LOVED it.)

Just bought my DH one and we both LOVE IT!!! It is awesome! I bought the B60 from Bed, Bath & Beyond for $129 and used the 20% off which brought it down to $104 + tax.

Honestly I will never go back to a regular coffee maker. I also brew tea in it. I buy loose tea and use the refillable cartridge. :thumbsup2

Thanks guys! I knew I'd hear back quick! Glad to hear more positive thougths than negative. Thenks to the poster who suggested JCPenny.

I'll be pricing them out tomorrow so I will be sure to look there.

I love mine, got it for my bday in Oct from dh and kids. I got the one from Costco so it came with 72 of the Kcups, which I loved because I got to try a couple from a few different brands. Found out which ones I liked and which I didn't. I am always getting the $5 off or 20% off coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond so I get my Kcups there. I got their 48ct Holiday box, Green Mountain brand, and they were all great tasting (spicy eggnog, golden french toast, holiday blend and gingerbread). They also have a bunch of different single Kcups for .79, which I will get next time to try a few brands that didn't come with my coffee maker. They also had a huge assortment of brands there, I was surprised to see so many different ones, even the half caff ones. I also like the coffee maker because you can buy a box of decaff and they wont go bad before you get a chance to use it up. I use the hot water from the maker and regular tea bags to make a cup of tea instead of buying the tea Kcups and the kids use it for hot chocolate, mine came with one hot cocoa Kcup but I just didn't like it.

We love our Keurig. First used one at my brothers about a year ago. Bought one for the home. Then bought one for our office (own our own business) We get boxes K-cups of 24 for $8.88 through the business from W.B. Mason. Our employees & clients love the coffee too.

Another keurig lover here, best money I ever spent. I just got back from Disney, was there for two weeks and I missed my Keuring so much.

Is this the same one that makes hot cocoa? I am thinking DH would love this since he isnt a coffee drinker but loves his cocoa!!

we have one. dh loves it. Its just okay for me. we have both inserts so we can make our own coffee also. some days I do like 2 cups and will have to clean it out and scoop more coffee into it.. dh likes the premade inserts but I havent really bought to many flavors yet..

Yes you can get k-cups pods, but to be honest you have to like your cocoa made with hot water. Myself it's hot milk all the way:snooty:;) But the cocoa K-cups are good.

I hear you. We are thinking of buying a smaller one to leave in our Owners Locker.

I don't like using the K-cups for cocoa, there is usually cocoa left in the cup that you have to get out and stir in or the cocoa is really weak.

On the other hand... I LOVE it to make cocoa... I just pour my powdered cocoa mix into my cup and run plain water through the machine (without a k-cup). No muss, no fuss :-)
