Tell me about Hojo's regular double/double rooms...

:yay:Well, I managed to get rooms at Hojo for every night of my 5 night stay except 1. I even got Ent rate for the first night. The rooms I booked are the regular oversized double rooms. That's all they had left and I'm lucky to get it! :sad2: I prefer the NQQ1 rooms in Bld 1 w/ DL view, so I have no idea what to expect. Do these Double/double rooms have Microwaves? Are they significantly smaller than the ones in bld 1? Do they have balconies? Have they been recently renovated? What buildings are they in and will I be disappointed after staying in Bld 1 all these years? What bld should I ask for?
If I stay w/ this room, I'll have to keep checking back for a room on the 15th. The downside is if nothing opens up, I'll end up having to probably priceline a room somewhere else becase I anticipate the room prices will go up. Plus, I noticed that all the hotels/motels along Habor, in walking distance anyway, penalize you for only booking 1 night. The room rates jump at least $20-50/ night for the 1 night not including tax.
...Or I could just book the Fairfield Inn and be done with it for a comparable price. I know; indecisive again!:rolleyes1:headache:
Anyway, if you all can tell me about Hojos double/double rooms, I'd appreciate it. I'd also appreciate feedback regarding whether or not you think I should just book Fairfield and be done w/ it. It sounds like a great hotel! My only reason for not booking FI thus far is because to get the cheapest rate you have to pay in advance, and I'm trying to reduce my credit spending and pay cash if possible. I've just about driven my DH (and myself) nuts w/ the entire hotel dilemma. :scared:I'm sure you all are sick of hearing about it too!:rotfl::rotfl2:
Thanks!

The double/double rooms do not have upgraded beds or microwaves. They do have a fridge. They are still quite large and have balconies. All the 2nd floor rooms have high ceilings with skylights.

They are definitely a step down from the premium rooms, but you still get the ammenities and excellent customer service that comes with the HoJo. Many people prefer the pavillion rooms because they are so quiet (no freeway noise).

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks DM!:goodvibes Have you ever slept in one of these beds? I'm just wondering if they are worn out, hard or comfortable...

Never personally stayed in a pavillion room, I'm a Bldg. 2 girl, myself! :goodvibes

I'm sure someone else can help you with your bed question though.

We always book the Pavilion rooms now. Would I like a micro and an upgraded bed? Sure but not enough to stay in one of the other rooms. :) Seriously, our rooms of choice are the Pav. rooms and not just because of the killer $59 Ent rate. :)

Sorry, I didn't even answer your question. LOL They aren't as comfy as the upgraded beds but they are fine. Not hard as rocks or anything like that. They are very comfy in our opinion. :)

I stayed at HOJOs for the first time a couple of months ago, in one of the double bed rooms (so I have no experience with the premium rooms). If the "non-upgraded" bed that I had in that room was so comfortable, I can only imagine how nice the beds in the premium rooms are!

I've lost track of when your dates are!

Remember the ent rate is a changeable thing, so check back often to see if the ent rate has been added for your other dates!

You used the disboards rate of 15% off the other nights, right? Or if you have an AP, 20% off.

I hadn't noticed a one day premium with the Harbor hotels, that's interesting.

Check with hotels.com...they do charge up front, but the important thing is that you can cancel with them (they refunded me FAST, too).

I have stayed in both the pavillion rooms (building 4 and 6) and building 2. I prefer building 2 because of the queen beds (the oversized doubles didn't seem very oversized to me!). I think the room size was the same and I wouldn't hesitate to stay in one of those rooms again. I have not experienced the upgraded bedding yet, but found the double beds to be comfortable.

Thanks Pixiewings! i appreciate the input!

:yay: That's good to hear! Thanks for posting! And yes, if you ever get a chance you score the upgraded premium rooms at the Ent rates, the beds are really comfy! The micro comes in handy too!

 Hi Molly! I am scheduled to go June 11-16. The 15th is sold out. :( When I asked what was going on they said it's probably just because it's the first day that everything is scheduled to be up and running. I guess the locals must know about it. It kind of made me want to shift my dates a little...:scared:I got the AP 20% off rate.

Thank you for posting your info!

One more question, do any of you know where Bld 4 and 6 is located? Which has the better location for less freeway noise and which is closer to Manchester?

The 15th is sold out. :(

Go to hojoanaheim.com NOW. There are two rooms showing for me, a King room and a 2 Queen room. If you don't know the AP code, PM me and I'll let ya know (though I believe it's on mousesavers if you want to dig around there). GO!

And just so you know (in case you booked by phone for the rest of your stay), you don't pay while booking online.

Shoot it's gone! :( Only the King is showing up. I just checked yesterday too! I'll keep trying. Thanks Molly!

I just tried again and got both....how many people are you going with? I'm putting in just one person and getting both shown to me.

Sorry I made a mistake. I was putting in all my dates. I got the Queen room. The only scary thing is this is the freeway facing side. :scared: Have you ever known anyone who stayed in those? I don't think those rooms are upgraded w/ nicer beds & the microwave are they? I think they are just the regular QQ rooms.
Thanks, Molly, for all your help! I'll hold this room and keep checking back. Hopefully more dates will open up.

This link should bring up a map of the buildings:

http://www.hojoanaheim.com/assets/pdf/propertymap.pdf

When we stayed in building 4 we had a lower level room that was on the end closest to the parking lot. When we first walked in, I could hear the freeway noise and was a little worried. Once we turned on the a/c unit it was fine. I am very sensitive to noise and wasn't bothered at all. I am thinking that the only reason we could hear the noise at all, is because we were on the end.

In building 6 we couldn't hear anything. :)

Freeway facing side, we had rooms on the freeway 3 or 4 times, the only time it bothered me was the one time our room was waaaaaay in the very back corner. It was loud there but every other time we've been ok. :)

Kayla's Mom & pixiewings71 thanks so much for your input. :goodvibes I just saw the responses now or I would have responded sooner. I appreciate the link too Kayla's Mom!:cool1:
