I've tried the search feature with no luck  looking for info on Hilton Head Island. I know nothing about it. I'm looking for whatever info I can get....things to do there, prices, etc. Does it have a Disney feel? Sell me on it!!!

I can try to tell you about HHI but I don't think I'll do a very good job. It's a very pretty place with lots of trees and wild life. It's set on the water's edge so there's carbing and fishing. It might have changed since I was there a few years ago but I remeber the Big Dipper Pool was fun and the Little Dipper is the kids pool. There's a relaxing boardwalk and Signal's was a handy snack bar. There's a "beach house" near by. I think it's a mile away? It's a good bike ride. The beach house is like a pool and a community center areaish. The Disney elements are pretty subtle but they're still there. It's very traditonal.

Golf and water activities are at the center of the attraction of Hilton Head Island. There is wonderful dining and a wide variety of activities on the Island. The Disney resort is in a lovely location on the island, adjacent to Shelter Cove which houses several good restaurants and fun shops. Disney runs a shuttle across into the Palmetto Dunes resort where Disney has a "Beach House" right on the ocean. At that location, there is a second pool, recreational activities, a snack bar and direct ocean access. The resort itself has rooms that are designed in the same way as VWL and BWV with a distinctive Low Country feel. It is very laid back. We visited the resort several times and liked the Island so much we purchased a small vacation home there. PM me if you'd like more specific information.

We love HHI. My kids are DD11, DS 6, DD 4 the pool is great. The resort is Beautiful Siting on the back porch is fun. Have a good cup of coffee and you might see a dolphin or two. The beach house is 1 mile away if you want to drive your car get there early. If you are going prime season this might be hard to get parking. Take the bus if you go late in the day. There is alot to do for the kids. This is a must go to resort if you are DVCM. My family loves it there. Go see Greg Russell in sea pines under the old oak tree at 8:00 pm doring the summer time. any more question PM me.

We love HHI. We usually go in October on our fall break - so things are pretty laid back then and not crowded. Would love to be there for a week during the summer, but just haven't done it yet. My kids love HH almost as much as WDW. We rent bikes and ride around on the bike paths along the island. DS11 fished and crabbed this last trip. The pool is great at the resort and the beach and pool are nice at the beach house. There are so many great places to eat at HH, that we don't miss having a restaurant on the premises. My DS7 participated in a bunch of resort activities. He had a terrific time and particularly loved the campfire. We really adore our trips to HH. There's plenty to do and there's nothing to do - what could be a better vacation than that?
