We're booked for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue this weekend on our arrival day. I've read a lot of reviews that have said what a great time it is but I was hoping that someone can give me a sysnopsis of how the dinner / show unfolds.

Our time is 7:15, I think. Should we be getting there well in advance of the start time? Will there be a long wait to get to our tables? Do they start serving food right away?

How long is the time between when you get seated and the start of the show? What exactly is the nature of the entertainment? Is the enjoyment of the show any less if you are seated far away from the action(we made our PS almost 90 days out)?

How long is the show? (We're hoping to get back to the Poly after the end of the show to catch Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant from the beach)

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the responses.

Let's see....I would get there at least 1/2 hour prior to the show. They take your group picture which they'll bring around to your table to try and sell you.

Once they start seating people it happens quite quickly. All the tables are reserved, so it doesn't really matter what point in line you are. There is salad and bread and butter on your table when you sit down. Your server will get your drink orders, most of the time before everyone is seated. The main courses aren't too far behind.

There is piano and banjo music almost from the beginning with the stage performers showing up not too long after you're seated. The entertainment is singing and corny humor/gags. It's supposed to be an old west traveling show.

Where you are seated will not really change the experience, but being closer to the stage is more fun. The show is just about 2 hours.

If Wishes starts at 9:00 you might be able to see the very end of it from the beach at FT. Wilderness.

I'm sure you'll have fun. We are going for the 7th time next Wed evening.

Lots of good information on the HDDR. I am assuming that this takes no "park passes" and I can get the "easy" bus transportation. Here's the real question - single, female, going alone... would I really have fun? Always wanted to see the show when I've been at DW with others- but ran out of time, energy, etc. Would I have a good time - or should I just stroll down to Fulton's - order a cocktail and an appetizer and soak in the "quiet" ambiance. Or do I want to really do the 'ol do-se-do and gnaw on some ribs? Being "alone" does not bother me - you're never alone at DW.

Do we get a discount on Hoop Dee Doo with the Annual Pass?

You get a 20% discount if you attend the last show, which I think is at 9:15, but this is only for the late showing, not the other two. :flower:

I think going to HDD "solo" would depend on your personality. I would enjoy it, but probably wouldn't do it. My wife would never do it. My youngest son has the right attitude that he would do it in a minute.

That doesn't help much I know, but it will really vary by individual.

If I remember correctly, we went to the 7:15 show and it was over at 9:15. The next show started at 9:30.

The fried chicken was probably the best I've ever had. And don't forget to have some STRAW-BERRY-SHORT-CAKE! You'll get it.

There's a petting zoo right next to Pioneer Hall, so you can kill a little time there before the show.

I think you pretty much covered it all :) I'll just add that this is my family's favorite dinner at WDW and we do it every trip. I hope your experience there is just as enjoyable :goodvibes
