We don't have a bottomless pit of a checking account, but I'm also not looking at taking a trip while on a tight budget. This will be an anniversary trip.
I haven't priced things out, but I'm expecting to spend about $5k-$7k, including airfare from Houston (direct flight, if that matters). Since practically two whole days will be taken up flying, we figure we need to be there for six nights to enjoy everything it has to offer. Are these figures about right?
We'll probably be going November of 2007, so I'm assuming that may be their high-season.
We want to be on an island where atmosphere is the key factor. I want waterfalls, beautiful hiking, great snorkeling - the whole she-bang. And I want romance, so the hotel needs to be beautiful.
I've done very little research, but know I don't want to be on the big island, or Oahu. I would like to narrow it down to Maui, Kauai, or Lanai.
