I want to know all!! I dont know anything about going over Halloween season, so I would like to know what to expect (good and bad)- weather, theming, parades, shows- just everything and anything :goodvibes
We're going the first week of Oct so I'm not expecting it to be busy, but with the free night and day offer on maybe it will be :confused3

Thanks- Pictures would also be very welcome

Hi,

:goodvibes I can only help with the weather - I was there last October - we left on the day before the Halloween season began.
The weather was normal early Autumn in England - bit of drizzle, some lovely crisp sunshine, and not cold (we wore t-shirts under fleeces).

I honestly don't know what to expect with the crowd levels. Yes, its midweek, yes, its classed a low Disney season. But, as you say, theres the extra night free offer, plus the early booker offer in April included the first week of Halloween season (thats what my sister and her family have booked) plus, according to another forum, the first Monday in October last year was a Spanish public holiday, and that meant that the parks were very busy on that day and the preceding weekend.

There is quite a lot of information on whats expected for Halloween 2008 on DLRP Magics forum - you should find the forum from the Home page on DLRP Magic.

It was fairly quiet for us when we went. Most queues were very fast moving but enough people to give it an atmosphere.

There was a post recently about Halloween talking about Jack and Sally being involved, shows, extra bit on the parade.

My photos aren't great but here's a couple from last year:-

We went during half term several years back (2002 or 2003, I think), and I don't remember it being overly busy even then, so it shouldn't be too bad for you, since you're going during term time.

The weather was cold and a bit drizzly, but it didn't stop us doing anything that we wanted to. There's lots of photos of us in thick coats with hats, scarves and gloves, so you might want to take those!

The Halloween parade is fantastic. Well, actually, I can't remember the parade itself too well but the music for the parade is BRILLIANT :thumbsup2 I have it on CD twice (I bought it when I was there at the time, and then bought it again when I went back a couple of years later because they'd released a different CD of it, with remixes on as well). It's amazingly catchy!

Ooohh those pics looking exciting, thanks- anymore??

I have just looked this up and apprently its the 12th Oct this year, so that should be ok.

I'll go have a nose other there then see what info I can gather

Thanks

OOOh I'll be reading that once i'm finished over at dlrp magic- i should have looked there frist as theres info posted yesterday that answers my question about whats one lool oh well at least we can share our halloweeny excitement.

I have been October several times, one year it was raining & another year it was shorts & tshirt weather even at the end of October.

Its a hard month to predict the weather.

Hi. I'm going the first week of October too and it's my very first time at DLRP and I'm soooooooo excited :yay:

I'm going to pack lots of layers (t-shirts, jumpers etc) so whatever the weather I'll be prepared (I hope).

Maybe see you there??!!

Apart from a little light rain on 1 or 2 days, we had beautiful weather in oct. 2004, the only time we've been there and walked around in Tshirts.
Also very quiet and that was during an offer period, but the parks/hotels are busier now during all seasons it seems, I would expect short queues.
Whatever the weather I'm sure you'll all have fun. :goodvibes

OT i know but i didnt see the point in starting a new thread. If the park shuts 7pm ish what time will the park restaurants shut?

I know i've read this somewhere before but i cant find it anywhere.

I think it's around 11pm

Really? even if the park shuts at 7pm

Thanks i wasnt sure if anyone would see my question- Just thinking about where to eat in Oct lool I dont expect the park to be open late but we fancy trying Agrabah Cafe but on dlp food it says it only open untill 4pm so maybe we will have to do that on the last day.

I don't think the restaurants are open that late if the park shuts at 7pm.

No, I think the last time they will take a booking for is an hour before park closing so if the park shuts at 7pm then the booking would be for 6pm.

The Village restaurants and hotel restaurants will be open much later. :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure Elaine is right - the latest reservation you can make for a restaurant in the Park would be 6pm when the park closes at 7pm.

Elaine

Yeah- I thought it was something like that, we plan to eat in restaurants that are in the village most days but i really fancy trying Agrabah Cafe.
