Tell me about GRR

I am dying to go on GRR. My kids would ride it all day long, but up until now I have sent them with my DH. I have a vestibular disorder, so I have to stay away from spinny rides so I don't ruin my day. I am not at all afraid of getting wet, or anything else about the ride (drops, etc.), except that it looks like the raft is constantly turning around and around.

For those who have trouble on spinny rides (teacups, symphony swings, etc.), can you ride GRR? Does it spin constantly? Is it noticeable? Is it a ride that is intentionally spinny?

I would not say it is "spinny". I think the only intentional spin is at the drop, but not to any extreme. Maybe one full rotation at most.

The drop does spin you slightly. As I recall the other rotations are not intentional, it just depends on how fast and at what angle you hit the bumpers that jut out to help guide your boat through the course. I think maybe 1-3 rotations at a time but only the first one might be quick, it slows down. The fun part is the partial rotation when you're hitting the jets of water and seeing who is going to get wet! It's been a while since I rode.

My mom can't handle any kind of spin like rides, and she can handle GRR quite easily! She says it isn't all that bad, and she quite enjoys it when we do go on it. =)

I can't do spinning rides at all, they make me sick! So I always stay away from the teacups and rides like it. However, GRR is a gentle spin if there is even one at all. Totally doable. I never have had an issue going on it.

Well, I avoid the teacups like the plague, I cannot do them, even if I don't let the cup spin, but I like GRR. It doesn't make me sick at all, I actually foresee DD and I doing this quite a few times on our upcoming Mother/Daughter trip in July. I can't wait!

I don't think the spinning is intense, but it's at *each* drop, *as* you drop. But the dropping feeling and the wonder of "will I get soaked?" might take attention away from the rotation (perhaps a better word than spin).

Well, I avoid the teacups like the plague, I cannot do them, even if I don't let the cup spin, but I like GRR. It doesn't make me sick at all.

I'm the same way, tea cups,silly swings,astro orbiter will ruin my day. but
oddly, dumbo does'nt bother me at all.
As the PP has stated, GRR does not really spin,its more of a slow rotation.

Well compared to teacups it doesn't spin really at all. As has been mentioned before, really the only spin is on the drop.

GRR is really smooth for a rapids ride. Atleast for me it doesn't feel like its spinning because it's so much fun seeing who's going to be in front when you hit the rough waters and drop to see who's getting wet this time. It's like floating down a river on an inner tube. You may be constantly moving but it feels very different from spinning. Tea cups aren't my favorite but I love GRR.
