I'm looking to go to MNSSHP the night before my Mom and I meet up and do a mom/daughter trip. Tell me your experiences with the party by yourself.

Oh, what an excellent question!! I'm still debating with myself whether I want to do this solo or not.

I'll be going solo on the 4th. I'm looking forward to the following:
1. being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want, at the speed I want
2. The fireworks and parade (both so amazing!)
3. seeing all the amazing costumes people wear, including the neat MNSSHP costume for CMs
4. soaking up the atmosphere of fall and Halloween at Disney.
5. trick or treating. I love candy and
6. special character meet and greets. Captain Jack Sparrow was very entertaining last year.

I'm expecting a great evening!

THIS!!! is the reason to go solo to MNSSHP. I try to go every year and this is what I look forward to every time. normally they let you in about 4:30-5 so you can get an early start on the festivities. they actually do kick anyone out who doesn't have the wristband for that day. it truly is a fun time and it's cool to see the headless horseman come down main street

I travel solo all the time, and the parties in the World are the BEST!

I will be attending 2 MNSSHP next month and am looking forward to them more and more each day. I costume and just enjoy everything they have to offer. As the PP said, you do it all in your own time and pace. Relax. Watch. Enjoy.

You will come away with a completely different view of the park and will notice things you never have before.

And certainly don't forget the candy! I think the adults enjoy that more than the kids! :yay:

You definitely want to do this if you have the chance! I went for the first time last year and went to two parties the week of Halloween including the 31st. I had such a blast! I am going again the same week this year and cannot wait.:yay:

My first ever solo trip was last year and it included my first ever Disney race, food and wine festival, and MNSSHP, and it was amazing! The party was awesome and I feel like I missed half of it, lol. Do it, you won't regret it

I just did the party solo myself last week. I was in costume and had a great time. You won't feel out of place at all. I concur that the adults seem to be as much into the trick or treating as the kids are, if not more. I did notice a lot more adults without kids at this event than on a typical visit.

I had an absolute blast. Halloween is my favorite holiday. WDW is my favorite place. Add those two things together and it's indescribable. It's fun if for no other reason than getting to be in costume at the Magic Kingdom.

Glad to see people posting in this thread. I'm going to my first MNSSHP this Oct, solo and was feeling a bit weary ... but am now getting excited & thinking I may wear a costume as well.

Oh, definitely wear a costume. You will feel much more at ease and part of the party, I can guarantee you, especially when you see all the other adults dressed up. I got complimented on my costume a number of times (even though it was nothing great), and it was cool to be a part of the festivities.

I'm not really a big Halloween person - I have dressed up in the past, for parties and what not, but being that we're from Toronto most costumes I have are for cold weather, so I'll have to see what I can put together, plus I don't want to be too over the top ....so looks like I'll have to start putting on my thinking cap

I went twice last year and am going again this year. Loved being able to ride the rocky railroad 25 times non stop lol.

I'm doing MNSSHP solo on the 3rd.

I'm so excited. After doing four days in Disneyland on my own, I can't imagine doing Disney any other way.

Doing MNSSHW solo in October! I'm definitely going in costume! And I wasn't going to go trick or treating (I'm 28!), but a friend of mine told me that I should! Based on all of your comments, it isn't weird for an adult, solo, to trick or treat in line with the kids?! :) Perhaps I will then!

I haven't had a little child with me in years and I've still trick or treated. Last year it was me (in my 30s) and my friend (in her 50s) no one said a thing and we had a blast

I was wondering about doing MNSSHP solo as well. I am traveling down for the ToT race with my sister. She doesn't get in until very late the night of a MNSSHP. I have been waffling on buying a ticket, wondering if I would feel out of place at the party without someone else there. Of course would want to do the trick or treating but as a single adult, with no costume??

Thanks for this thread it was very helpful.

This is my first EVER MNSSHP and my mom is flying down from ohio to join me! How much candy do you actually get if you trick or treat?! I'm curious because it will be me doing the trick or treating that night because mom won't do it so I'm hoping that we both still get our money's worth! I'll be dressing up as Marie the kitten from the aristocats and I can't wait!!:D Also, how are the lines for the trick or treating? What are they like?

This October will be my third solo MNSSHP. I love it with family and possibly even love it more solo - going at my own pace and with my own inclinations of what to do next.

Most always can enter at 4 pm which I do. Planning an early supper at CHH then will check the times board to see what has the shortest waits. Usually a great time to do some things between 4 and 6 pm.

The time seems to fly once the party starts. I love the parade, HalloWishes, and the Villains Mix and Mingle. This year I want to see Celebrate the Magic for the first time - and think I will also add a stop or two at a treat station.

I love BTMR at night and have always ridden that at least three times in a row as fast as I could walk through the queue.

Love the atmosphere and never really feel alone. Just part of one very big party!

Have fun!!!
