...it appears we will be on property during f&g.what exactly happens at epcot during this? anything that's a "must do" or "be sure not miss"? we have not been during this or food and wine.

Flower and Garden showcases a very spruced-up Epcot. Google pictures and you'll get the idea. There are minimal food kiosks for quick bites. It's just very pretty. Is it a "must do?" I don't know. It depends on you. The flowers and displays are stunning. Extra photo-pass photographers are set up near the topiaries, and we got some really cute shots last year.

It makes Epcot look great but if you're not really a flower/botanical garden person (I am), then it might not really be much of a draw.

The food offerings are great! just for that it is a must do. We love the food from the outdoor kitchens so much that we usually don't do any TS meals at Epcot during this event. The menu should be coming out soon, but you can google the flower and garden outdoor kitchens or look at some youtube videos. I think they keep a lot of the same offerings from year to year only changing out a few so even looking at last years info will give you a good idea of what will be there. Disney food blog has a pretty detailed info on the food with some pictures and prices. They are small portioned food offerings so you can sample quite a bit without getting full on one thing.

They have a butterfly area to visit and there are other garden workshops, i believe UK had a tea garden tour - never done it though.

The flowers area amazing! and there are topiaries all over the park. I believe they have an Easter egg hunt, which might go for the entire run - so you buy a little egg hunt booklet and try to find all the hidden eggs and i think when you complete it you get a little something. Having never done it i don't know all the details.

The F & G starts 2/28 so definitely keep an eye on these boards as i am sure there will be many people reviewing food and other offerings for the event once it opens.

The Dis podcast will probably do a show early in the festival where they review the food...that will give you a good idea of what there is to eat. We always plan to have at least one meal here. By meal I mean, a variety of the tapas-style items that we share bites of. It's not cheap by any means, but you get a nice selection of some neat food and drink.

There are a couple bonuses - a free tea tour in the UK pavilion (sign up in advance at the shop in that pavillion). Some other "educational" type displays - for instance, my son (7) and I spent about 15 minutes looking at pepper plants and learning about capsaicin. Stuff like that. And, as mentioned, neat topiary displays for some good pictures.

The Outdoor Kitchens have been expanding in number since they started doing them for the F&G Festival a few years ago. There were 15 kiosks last year, and I expect there to be more this year.

The sampling kiosks seem to be very popular with guests, and I suspect that they are quite profitable for Disney since they keep expanding them.

In addition to the gardening exhibitions and food and drink offerings, the Festival features “Garden Rocks” concerts on the weekends. I look forward to seeing the Guess Who this year. :)

The food kiosks were my favorite part last year. My friend and I shared one or two dishes at most kiosk throughout the day and really enjoyed ourselves. Also it was so beautiful there. The flowers were gorgeous. We went on a weekday so there weren't many events going on but thoroughly enjoyed it. It would be fun if you were going on a weekend to see one of the bands from back in the day.

We did Flower & Garden last year and are doing it again this year. We ABSOLUTELY loved it! Epcot is so beautiful. We didn't really do any specific events, but we so enjoyed just walking around and looking at all the scenery they create. Its just gorgeous. And its not just flowers and topiaries, they grow lots of fruits and veggies all over the place, we really enjoyed looking and reading everything about them as well. The food booths are great, a really fun addition. I would say if anything is a must-do, it would be strolling around the World Showcase to take in all the beauty!

Have fun!

It has a lot of nice flowery areas to walk through, and the topiaries are nice. Getting to walk around the old Wonders of Life building is nice too (although I read that it's not everyday during it anymore)

IMHO it is always worth the visit, especially if you already plan on being at WDW while this is happening..

In addition to the lavish gardens and topiary displays (which in itself can be quite a sight and great for pictures), there also special food offerings that are only available during the festival (kiosks similar to F&W), a live concert series at American Gardens Theater (same venue used for CP during the holidays), and it is also one of the few times that the old Wonders of Life pavilion is open and is used as the venue for the "Festival Center" filled with special festival merchandise, exhibits, and seminars..

We went last year. I thought there were a lot of food booths with many great selections. Several of the food options were healthy - a favorite of mine was the watermelon-arugula salad with feta cheese and balsamic dressing (Urban Eats booth). The desserts were yummy, too - the pineapple soft serve was a hit with my whole family.

In addition, it's just really pretty during F & G, and a nice way to welcome Spring.

We did the free Twining's Tea Tour at the UK pavilion. It was fun and informative.

We go every year. the leaves fall off the trees in michigan in october and after 5 months of cold and staring at sad lifeless trees and snow, flower and garden is literally life affirming. it gets us through the rest of the winter!

we always go in early march when it is still winter cold here.

We went the last two years (didn't plan a trip around it). I absolutely loved the topiaries. We are going during F&G this year, but sadly won't be able to go to Epcot. We only have 2 park days and they are being used at MK and AK with no park hoppers.

I'm glad this turned out to be a happy coincidence with our trip timing, sounds like the weekends are the best time to visit F&G.
are the concerts only held on the weekends as well?

Last year the concerts were expanded beyond the weekends. This year it's one act performing Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (last year they had two acts in a week, which was fun).

I love going then (we've been most years); the kiosks are fun (last year my oldest and I must have spent $100 in drinks alone first day, LOL). The park is beautiful! Makes me sad when we go when it's not F&G since I miss all the flowers!

My favorite time of year to go, the weather is perfect, less crowds if you avoid spring break, and EPCOT is beautiful!!
