If we decide to book the free dining special for a fall trip I think this would be fun to do on our arrival day for an early dinner. Then let the kids walk around for a bit and look at the animals/resort. Please tell me all about it.

Thanks,
Cristy

We've only had Easter Brunch at Boma before, so I can't tell you about dinner. But I can tell you that we loved the food, the atmosphere, and touring the AK Lodge.

There were some really neat (ethnic) foods on the buffet. There are several viewing areas for the animals, including out by the pool. There is a nice gift shop, and the lodge itself is just amazing to explore. Hopefully, we'll actually be able to stay there one day.

Hope that helps to get you started. Here's a map of the resort with the animal viewing areas marked with a "paw" http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/aklmap.htm

We absolutely loved it! The resort is beautiful and the food is great. So many different foods to try along with the old stand -bys. Give it a try. We can't wait to go back!

Reservations are very necessary. We love Boma's. It's always crowded and I've always thought it was because it gives people a chance to see the AKL and see the animals. We have had dinner there numerous times and had breakfast once when we were staying there. The food is very good, something different to try, but they also have food that everyone will like. We love trying new foods so my family is really into it, but I can see that for some people it may not be their "cup of tea". As others have said, the gift shop is wonderful, many nice things, and exploring the grounds is always fun and sometimes can help you decide if you want to stay there in the future. Hope you like it!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

We had a very long wait even with the ADR, the flavors in some of the food weren't to our liking. DD who loves to try new foods, didn't find much she cared for either.

I highly recommend this restaurant. It is my favorite meal in all of WDW and I love the food.

I would recommend ADRs though because it is often busy, especially during free dinning.

We try to do our arrival dinner at Boma because we are starving after traveling all day from left coast. We've probably eaten here a dozen times since it opened and still love it. It's crowded and noisy but we very much enjoy the food.

I don't know what time they start serving; we always take the latest adr time.

I think if you go early enough, you'll get seated fairly quickly. We had 6:30pm ADR's in early May 2007. We checked in about 10 mins before our ADR and were seated right at 6:30. As we left, around 7:30pm, the waiting area was mobbed so we must have gotten there before the dinner rush.

We aren't too adventurous when it comes to food, but we really enjoyed sampling some of the ethnic dishes. They also offer some old stand-by favorites like carved roast beef.

We were staying at AKL, but spent the evening after dinner walking around the resort, watching the animals and looking at the artifacts that they have setup throughout the lodge. It made for a really relaxing evening.

Boma's in on our ADR list everytime. The squash soup is amazing and so many different foods with flavor. After a week of standard food Boma's is a welcome oasis.

They open at 5:00 pm and we always go for the earliest ADR we can get. We see the parade at AK and then leave for dinner.

The 2009 Passporter says that dinner times are 5PM to 10 PM.

We ate here in 2005 and loved it.

we will be eating there for the first time in may we are looking forward to it lot of good reviews. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

To us it's the best buffet in Disney.

Like most others on here, boma is a must do for us everytime we go to WDW.

I keep contemplating the QSDDP to save us some time to do other things instead of eating, but whenever I think about not being able to eat at all my favorite sit-down places, I just can't.

Our December trip is going to include a boma, Citrico's, and San Angel among others.

We just returned on Friday. We spent a week at the AKL. We had eaten dinner at the Boma a couple of years ago and loved it. So, on this trip we ate dinner with friends and still loved it. It is great for adventurous eaters and notso adventurous eaters. We even had breakfast our last morning! I would highly recommend it! You will love touring the AKL. When we ate here the time before, I said that I really wanted to stay sometime. We got the chance and loved it. It is so kid friendly and seein the animals every morning and evening was fabulous. Our friends that dined with us said they would love to stay, too. Hope you enjoy it!

Their soups are WONDERFUL. I can just be happy filling up on soup but, there is soooo much more. There is such a wonderful variety even for people that are not too adventurous. Enjoy!!

On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a 10. It a sure thing. :)
