Busy. I know Busy. I get Busy. I understand Busy. Put Busy aside.

Is there ANYTHING that you see or do or happens on December 25th in the park that doesn't happen on Dec 24th? Or Dec 20th? Or Dec 14th? Or basically from November 7th I think it is? DW and I are trying to decide between early December and fighting December 25th and she wanted to know if there is anything special about that day.

As a side note - I asked a CM this question and his answer was he didn't know, but when in doubt ask DISBoards. He told me that's what they do!

I cannot tell you if there is anything special about the 25th, but I can say that I love Early to mid December. The parks and resorts are beautiful, there are special events to enjoy, and the crowds are reasonable.

We were in WDW this past year from 12/17-12/24. I thought the crowds were reasonable. The parks were decorated and everyone was in the holiday spirit. I love that week and wouldn't hesitate to go again! We left Christmas Eve, late morning, and it was fun to watch the Christmas crowd start rolling in while we were waiting on ME!!

How about early-mid November? (MVMCP time) I figure MK is decorated by that point but what about the other parks and resorts?

A couple years ago someone posted a picture of Liberty Square on the frontierland side of the Liberty Belle (so not near HM) on 12/25 at 8AM, 10AM, and 12PM. It was pretty amazing to watch how much more crowded it got over this time period.

Keep in mind that there are no rides/attractions at this area of liberty square (except the Liberty Bell). The 12PM picture showed wall to wall people. I mean you are intimately rubbing your neighbors on the front, back, and both sides. I don't see how anyone could have actually been walking in that crowd.

You get to see the park go into phased closing and tons of families who discover the parade on tv isn't live... after the last party date, the fireworks don't happen anymore but the christmas parade becomes the day parade. so 23-25 the difference is the day parade and maybe some holiday music on the speakers.

"Tell me about.... December 25th."

I think it's a holiday of some sort. Something about a deity/child of a deity being born, though said deity/child of a deity was supposedly born months earlier.

Beyond that, I'm at a loss. Sorry I can't be of more help.

We were there over Christmas in 2012. We went over Christmas as it was what we were doing for Christmas that year, we had no family to visit that year, and Disney is our happy place.
There was really nothing (that I was aware of) that happened specifically for Christmas, nothing that didn't happen any other time during the Christmas season. Once the decorations are fully up, and the storytellers and Candlelight processional begin happening, there's nothing unique about Christmas eve/day.
We spent Christmas day at AK, figuring it would be the least busy park, and it was manageable.

I think Disney raises the prices for some dining the closer you get to Dec 25th. That's special, isn't it? :)

Oh, really? I didn't know this. I thought after the last party date the Holiday Wishes fireworks took the place of the regular Wishes fireworks until after the Christmas - New Year's season was over? Is that not right?

oh, now that you point that out I can't remember honestly. I'll let you know dec 25 :)

It has been years since I was there at that time of year. I remember the Epcot resorts were decorated the week before thanksgiving but that all I remember.

If you get up early and go to the MK before the crowds you might find a surprise on the 25th. We got pictures with the 7 dwarfs under the train station one year.

Just knowing you're walking around the MK on December 25th feels very special. It's hard to explain. It really felt magical to me. :goodvibes

Correct - although it might not be right away - Holiday Wishes definitely runs the week of Christmas through the 31st.

At Poly for Holiday Wishes fireworks by 7:45PM

Holiday wishes plays all week. I have video of it from inside the park 23rd, California Grill 24th, and Poly 25th.

I went down from Dec 23-26, 2015 to get a feel for how the park crowds are over the holiday by myself. I only found issues with crowd levels at the Magic Kingdom after 10AM while I was down there. The parks themselves did not seem busy, but it was because everyone was standing in line somewhere at MK or DHS. Epcot didn't seem any different than a normal late January day, nor did AK. DHS & MK wait times were extremely long which lead me to only do FastPass attractions and then did a TON of resort hopping.

I have been several times to MK on December 25th. Not too crowded until about 1:00 p.m.

I have never been on Christmas day (nor do I have any desire to brave those crowds), but I can tell you that early December is a lovely time to go. Low crowds, but they still have holiday decorations and events.
