Tell Me about Cosmic Rays

How is it set up inside? Is it one counter for all food or are there stations/stands for different food types?

On our last visit, we ate in the food court in the Land and of course each person wanted something from different stations and we ended up waiting in several different lines.

I am trying to avoid set-ups like this on our May trip. Any other places to avoid?

I think there were three different counters depending on what you wanted

You'll probably want to avoid Cosmic Ray's then unless everyone in your party wants the same thing. My ds and I had burgers and dd had the mini corn dogs so we were able to order from the same section. We sat in the area with Sonny Eclipse and loved the entertainment and the food.

There are 3 area's to buy food. One for Chicken, One for Burgers and One for Soups/Salads/Sandwiches (they had rib's too).

We ate there twice. I got burgers both times. If your on the dine plan you get a drink and desert (the chocolate cake is very good). The burgers (bacon double chees) were also very good. My Mother got the chicken sandwich and enjoyed it.

It's our favorite CS place to eat at MK. We'll be eating there in 31 days!

we ate there twice last week. It's one of our favorites b/c it has all the different stations and choices.

kids can get nuggets or corn dogs, I can get ribs or rotisserie chicken.

Cosmic Rays is awesome! Our group will split up to order (we each pay with our Disney room card/keys). There are three different counter menus: #1 has the chicken and ribs; #2 has Burgers and hotdogs #3 has wraps, bbq, soups & salads. We'll either scout out a table ahead of time or decide to meet at a certain spot. We prefer the tables outside that overlook the pond with a view of the Castle. It's also fun to sit down front and get the floor show of the audio-animatronic character "Sonny Eclipse". This August article from the Orlando Sentinel might be of interest to you:

It's one of our favorite places, but the three different stations is not my ideal setup. When we go, it's just me and DD, so if I were to decide I wanted something from a counter other than where she orders, I'd have to stand in a second line holding a tray of food or let her go off alone to sit while I ordered. Neither of those is going to happen. If you have two adults, it's much easier to split up if need be.

Anyone else vote that it's be GREAT if each counter let you order from any of the three menus?
