DH and I have our first adults only trip in August for our anniversary (15th). We have reservations at BWI, let's hear some reports. We have booked a concierge room. Tell me what to look forward to. The weather is miserable here and I need something happy to think about!

I luuuuuurrrrve BWI! Some things to look forward to:

*The gorgeous mix of sophistication and whimsy that permeates the resort
*The huge seersucker settee in the entrance
*comfy couches in the lobby, and those adorable flower-face chairs!
*beautiful carousel horses
*antique boardwalk games peppered throughout
*small, intimate feel of the resort (BWI is the smallest WDW resort!)
*charming room decor
*gorgeous grounds -- have a stroll by the garden cottages
*a really cool main pool with the best slide at any WDW resort!
*lots of entertainment and dining options just steps from the resort
*renting a surrey bike to ride along the boards
*Jellyrolls!
*the lovely walk to Epcot's International Gateway
*just a boatride or even a walk away from MGM
*the spectacle of the Boardwalk all lit up at night...*sigh*

And so much more! Have fun!

Well, I guess I will play rainman.

I did not care for this resort. We did go earlier, before the boadwalk was fully developed, but thought there was very little to do there. There was no place for a quick breakfast (one very small bakery) or after park meal. We did not eat until the park closed one night and by the time we got back to the resort there was absolutely nothing open (not even carts) that was not a 2-hour dining experience. Guess we are just food court people.

Frankly, the lobby was plush but I have seen better amenities at a LaQuinta - no coffee, no newspaper, not even an apple. The CMs were nice and we had a great view of Epcot from the balcony. Also loved the Epcot access.

Just thought it could have/should have been more.

I highly recommend checking out Jellyrolls, a dueling piano bar right on the Boardwalk. It is loads of fun. The piano players are fantastic! There's a $7 cover charge, and it's worth every penny. Doors open at 7:00 (although there's no need to get there that early), and the pianos start at 8:00. If you see Scotty and Ray, tell them Karen from Boston sent you :)

Thanks for all the replies everyone. We are looking forward to our stay at BWI, I have searched the forum some for info, but there seems to be less about BWI than other resorts, maybe because it is small Tara.
Karen from Boston (my sister lives in Boston) we ARE looking forward to going to Jellyrolls, especially since none of the FOUR kids will be with us this trip. We are making it up to them, though, and taking them in December.
Worldlywise, I would be more concerned about the food options if it weren't for the fact that we don't have the kids with us this trip. We aren't so much food court people unless we have the munchkins along :flower:

We, too, are spending time at BWI concierge for our anniversary (10th). We are taking the kids to my Mom's (after taking them to the Poly for the week) and then spending one night at BWI and the boardwalk. Would love to hear more about the concierge services. We lucked out with our AP discount. It wasn't available on our booked "water view" room, but if I applied it to the concierge room, I ended up with a $30 credit. I figured, I was already willing to pay that much without a discount, I might as well upgrade. :rotfl:

I have heard really great things about the concierge at BWI, and so far the planners have been fantastic. They got us great tickets for La Nouba and took all our ps requests so they can put them through as soon as our PS window opens.
The lounge is supposed to be quite large with a great view of Illuminations. Deb Wills has some pictures of the lounge on her website.
