I've heard so many good things about this restaurant. But I look at the menu and I don't know why is there something I'm missing? My DH has wanted to try this place for a few years and I'm just not sure. Are there children options as well? Didn't see any on allears. Please help TIA:)

We went there last month. DS7 is the king of picky eaters. It's a buffet, so there are tons of salads, main dishes, meats, sides. DS ate pretzel bread, pickles, mac & cheese, a sausage/brat that we told him was a hot dog and dessert -- cream cake, chocolate mousse and berry compote. He did fine.

DH and I LOVED the food. DH felt like he was eating at his german grandmother's house.

This is a must do for our family. Everyone in the extended family likes this place, but for different reasons. There is a variety of foods and our very picky extended family found plenty of things they liked a lot.

The kids really enjoyed going down and dancing with the Oompah Band!

They have lots of kids offerings. There is Mac and Cheese, vanilla pudding, and plain noodles.

The atmosphere, a Munich square under a harvest moon during the midst of Octoberfest is lots of fun. We have had great luck there with hilarious servers who had a great sense of humor.

The Warm German Potato Salad and Apple Strudel with Vanilla sauce taste just like Oma used to make. It is a wonderful trip down memory lane if you had any german grandparents.

I think you should try it just once.

The only drawback is that you sit at large picnic style tables with eight people per table, and in true German form, they put eight people at the table, so if you are not a group of eight, then you will likely find yourself sharing a table with another family or couple.

Given how closely Disney likes to pack in the tables, it honestly doesnt' feel much different than how close we were to people while eating at Le Cellier, and they were officially at another table.:rotfl2:

DH and I ate there once and really liked it- we were a party of two and sat with 3 other couples- people made a little small talk about where they were from and then just everyone enjoyed their meals.

I really liked the food and I'm picky. The potato soup is awesome, I had lots of soft pretzel rolls, salads, side dishes and everything was really good. I'm not into sausages.

I was hesitant also- but we went in Sept., and we loved it. There is mac n cheese for kids, and they loved the soft pretzels!!! It is very noisy, but fun.

I went there last year and we had a blast - there was 14 of us - three families and kids from 2 to 14 and the kids had a good time. They went to dance with the band - I believe they played the chicken dance. As for the food, everyone found something they liked. Good time, I agree to do at least one time!

We are a Biergarten Family. We LOVE it. It is the one place we go back to each year. My children love the music and dancing. We all find something we like. Below are a few pictures.

This is DD's plate. From the top center - Schnitzel, pork, Mac and Cheese, Hunter's beef, carrots and sausages.

All my favorites - German potato salad, green salad with dressing, sausages and the German meatloaf. I forget the other name for that.

Of course all the desserts don't hurt either!

DD and DS doing The Chicken Dance. They love dancing in the courtyard.

Hope this helps some. :)

Fantastic place. We went in September too and had a really good time. We'd been to Munich the year before, and considering this is a theme park, I thought Disney had done very well with the theming and the authenticity of the food. The atmosphere was lovely and our table companions were OK too. we were with a family of 4, who said 'hi' but then talked amongst themselves for most of the meal, and a lovely couple similar to our own age who were celebrating their anniversary (and also staying at POP where we were!). A most enjoyable lunch.

My very favorite place to eat :goodvibes

I say it every time a Biergarten thread comes up-I dream of this place

Go, enjoy it, and then come back and thank us :thumbsup2
