I have been a member since 1992. I have stayed at every resort except BCV. I just made a reservation for this September 21-25 for a 2BR at BCV, primarily so that I could say that I had stayed at every DVC resort.

Can you give me some other reasons for staying at BCV?

Bring your own Windex and Pledge. If you bring a grapefruit you will be able to play basketball with the holes in the walls.

You're gunna hafta esplain that one, Lucy!

I don't know how many trips Jim has had to BCV but we've had 12 different room assignments at BCV now including some one night stays. Each room has been clean with no holes! ;)

You know what Thumper says.... "If you can't say something nice...." We can all cite others negative experiences at each DVC resort.

Anyway, some of the things we love about BCV are the short stroll to Epcot, Stormalong Bay and the Villas pool, the desk in the master bedroom, combo DVD/VC unit, Crew's Cup, the quick walk to Beach Club Marketplace for papers and breakfast, selfparking which is very close to the building. I also love the views on the Epcot side with a glimpse of Illuminations. The public rooms are charming and the CMs are friendly. We love our BCV "home."

Any particular questions?

DH wasn't crazy about going there this past April. He is a real convert after our stay. The biggest things were the proximity to EPCOT. It is really incredibly close. Also proximity to the parking lot. Pretty easy (not as easy as OKW or SSR) to get to your car. We found the resort in good shape with your typical DVC rooms. Theming was nice. We also really enjoyed being very close to the quiet pool. We weren't expecting anything outstanding, but were pleased with our stay to say the least. We will definitely go back (if we ever get a ressie there).

Good luck!

The colors and decorations make you feel like you are at a beach cottage somewhere. Beautiful pastel blues, white and light greens... Very calming. Everything has gingerbread trim and funky angles, and the whole Villas building is a treat to look at with its unique stories and balconies.

The interiors are lovely. Even the hallways are nicely decorated. The rooms have the same colors repeated and are very comfortable. The Villas is off to the side of the main Beach Club building which makes it a bit of a walk to the main lobby but closer to Epcot and parking. The grounds are a combination of manicured lawn and lovely shrubbery, and you can imagine people in long-ago costumes enjoying croquet. There is a unique smell to the place, too, that somehow reminds me of the Jersey shore trips of my childhood. Overall there is a lot to see and even more to do and despite some grumbles here about "how the resort is holding up to wear and tear" it is a fabulous place to stay. Enjoy!

1. The pool slide into SAB is a blast.
2. The sand bottom of SAB is different, as is the deep whirlpool section of it.
3. Cape May Cafe is very good for a buffet (all you can eat clams and mussels).
4. The .79 of a mile walk (or jog) around Crescent Lake is fun.
5. Checking out the critters swimming in the canal that goes under the villas is interesting.

BCV & BWV owner:

*It's a well-run hotel. I've been there during peak times including Spring Break. I've had ressies linked etc...changed rooms without a hitch...needed maintenance, they were there in 5 mins... ended up being lint trap to dryer was put in the wrong way--it wasn't me!!
Their staff is well-trained, and it shows. I feel like I'm on vacation there, but very comfortable--like home. BEACHES n Cream!! SAB pool, boat & bus options, short walk to the Boardwalk or Epcot...Love it!

Contrast: I was at the BWVs during Christmas thru New Year's. It was different story. CM didn't know where the DVC rooms were...I received the wrong directions to the Community Hall...I finally had to ask the Bell men how to get there! I was asked to come to the front desk each morning to renew my room key!? My ressies were linked, same room class etc... I guess I was there when they were training new staff?

You mentioned the DVD VCR unit.

Can you rent tapes at BVC?

corpcomp, I'm not sure if the BCMarketplace has tapes for borrowing. :confused3

When BCV opened, there were just DVD players in the room and DVDs to borrow. Not sure when the switch to combo players happened. I noticed that we had a combo unit this May. It could be that all rooms have them now or just that they are being replaced as the DVD players wear out which is probably more likely.

OK that is good to know. I may actually call down there and find out but we were planning to bring a few tapes (although we never have time to look at them) as well as monopoly which my son loves to play before going to bed. We never finish but he loves taking all our money.

Sounds like someone knows how to get a "discussion" going about other resorts like Richyams did with BWV.
Why to stay at BCV-the gelato in the Marketplace is yummy, the sand under your toes on the beach, the gelato, the great reading spots on the first floor, the gelato, Cape May Cafe is right there for a fun character breakfast, and did I mention the yummy gelato at the Marketplace?

I love Cape May Cafe and Beaches and cream is nice too...

love the desk in the bedroom....don't have to use the kitchen table....

SALB is nice. but I like the quiet pool at BCV.
