I have this great vision of a "cultural" day at WS w/ DS5 & DS8 ... I would like to take them to a nice restaurant that day. The only problem is that they are extremely picky, so after perusing the menues I went for Alfredo's in Italy. They will both eat spaghetti. Does anyone have an opinion on this restaurant? My ADR is for 8/27. Hows the atmosphere? If you were there before, would you go again?

We go every year! And we are so sad that it will be closing in August!
With that said, I have to tell you that the fettuccine alfredo is absolute to die for! It is absolutely delicious! It does come in big portions so we always split. They also have a sampler type dinner with the fettuccine, lasagna, and, now that I've started talking about it, I can't think of the third item.
Our favorite time to go is during dinner. We were lucky enough last time for the waiter to bring us some imported cheese with our bread and olive oil that was fabulous! Also at dinner was an accordion player. This is really fun because when he played Funiculi Funicula, everyone spins their napkins around. It's a blast!

it's closing - good riddance.

been there before, lunch & dinner

lousy service, tables too close together, noisy

food was mediocre

did i mention the lousy service?

(waiters who forget you, are rude, leave you without refills, take forever to get the bill, act annoyed when you don't want drinks or dessert)

looking forward to seeing what replaces it

i didnt know it was closing... i am so sad... :( we loved it there.... What are they going to put there?

imo: I think its great... I read so many reviews of people hating it but we gave it a try anyway and were very happy. We loved everything. The alfredo sauce is sooooooooooooo good...
When you walk in there is pictures every where on the walls of actors eating the fa; take a look around, they are great pictures; then you walk into a big dining hall and its very cozy. When we went there was a singer walking around and the crowd participation was great as well. The food & servicewas great, the drinks were very yummy, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Would go over and over...

We've been there many times, and are sad to see it close.

We love their food, it's comparable (favorable) to restaurants in Florence, Venice and Rome.

The tables are just as close as those found, once again, in restaurants in Florence, Venice and Rome. (I guess if one wants an American experience, with tables further apart, one could go to an American restaurant.)

Concerning service, we've never had a bad experience, maybe due to engaging the servers in discussions about their homes...?

Word is that the closure will be relatively short, so either Disney has some other purveyor lined-up, or will operate the restaurant themselves, just like they operate Le Cellier, Rose and Crown, etc.

Alfredo's is one we will definitely miss! This is our last trip before it's supposed to close, so we just added a lunch ADR for it.

We were there this past Oct.... I was excited to try it but IMHO unfortunately the food wasn't that great. I had the sampler platter and the lasangna was OK but the other items were not good. The singer was fun and I did like the atmosphere. I am looking forward to the next restaurant though. There HAS to be better food in Italy! :)

Hmmmmmmm..... the accordian player and the Italian atmosphere sound really fun :) I DID notice that there are NO DESSERTS listed on alllears for this restaurant. Do they not have dessert ????????????? That may just be a deal breaker ...

We had one of our best meals there on our Feb 07 trip.... service was great... and yes there were desserts... many of them.... and they were great!!!

I've been to Alfredo's a couple of times for lunch, and enjoyed it. Yes, the tables are somewhat close, and it's on the loud side, but it's never dull! I never had problems with service, in fact, the servers were very friendly. And the fettucini alfredo, as everyone's said, is absolutely amazing. :goodvibes

They have tons of tasty desserts!!!! Never fear!

Whew! That was a close one ....:lmao:

Got to have our desserts on the DDP!:goodvibes

I understand completely!!! We have to have our desserts too and we usually don't even use DDP! hahaha. It was a really important question. Just wait until you get there and see their huge tray of goodies. Yum!
