We were skeptical but our middle DD begged to go there. It was her only request for the whole trip in '09 so we went, even though none of the rest of us wanted to. She got the last laugh when we all absolutely loved it! It was the 1st place to go on our to do list for our upcoming trip in May! Our server was just the right mix of antics. He joked but didn't humiliate. He asked who was the laziest one in our family. We all pointed at our DD16. He made her do "chores" - she had to set the table & gather all of our dirty dishes into a pile as we finished with them. He asked where we were from. We told him Indiana so then he announced to the room, which had 5 or 6 tables in it, that DD was "the laziest person in all of Indiana". She was a great sport & laughed it up. If he had done that to our middle DD, she probably would have died of embarrassment! He declared our youngest DD to be his favorite & told her she could do whatever she wanted, including putting her elbows on the table & not eating her veggies.
Another server there was doing the "open the tunnel for the choo-choo train" trick to a grandpa to get him to eat his veggies. Fun to watch but glad it wasn't me!
At the next table, the server informed the 2 boys, probably 10 & 12, that their hair was too long (that shaggy, overgrown look that is in style) & Grandma wouldn't approve. Their dad was laughing & nodding his head the whole time! We just saw alot of fun good-hearted teasing.
The food was really good too! We had fried chicken, meatloaf & pot roast at our table & everyone loved what they ordered. Dad's brownie sundae is delicious!!
