I've never stayed at All Star Music and the last time I was in a value resort was six trips ago in December 2000 (ASMovies, Toy Story).
How is the resort holding up? Any interesting things I should look for? How is the bus system running there? Do the rooms have hair dryers?
How far of a walk is it from Broadway to the buses and food court? I want to be in Broadway pretty bad considering NYC is my second favorite vacation destination.
Questions, questions, questions. Any suggestions, info would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Our family just stayed at AS Music the last week of October. For us it is fine. Clean rooms, and the food court was great. As far as Broadway - the only thing I can tell you is that it is quite a walk to the main lobby and food court. We stayed in the Jazz building and Broadway was right next door to us. If you don't mind walking some (which we didn't, we also had our own car), it isn't that bad. There are some maps of the resort on www.wdwig.com. You can check out the Broadway location there.

Thank you Piglet.
Where there hair dryers in the room? What was your average walking time to the food court?
This is the first time I will be flying to Orlando, so I will be at the mercy of my feet and Disney transport.

We stayed at ASMu last November in the Rock N Roll building, which is even farther than the Broadway. No hair dryers. Bring one from home. You can request a mini fridge and ironing board and iron if you need it.

Timewise, the walk doesn't take long, maybe 3 minutes to walk to the bus stop/food court/laundry facility, and that's catching the elevator or walking down steps.

Have fun. ::MinnieMo

We stayed at Jazz (bldg #2, I think) last June. It was a longer walk than I expected to the food court and bus stop. I think whetehr its long enough to be an inconvenience depends on the make-up of your party. We had two small kids, so we often wound up lugging them all the way from bus stop at the end of the day, which is no fun if your feet are tired anyway.
I liked our proximity to the Ariel pool. The room was quiet even though it faced the courtyard and was on the ground level. I had a few disappointments with mousekeeping, but that was probably an isolated event. The biggie was that the TV remote was covered with phlegm when we checked in  . I called and mousekeeping was there within minutes with a replacement. Also, one bedspread was from AS Sports. This was just something I noticed; I didn't even think enough of it to mention it to the resort. Someone more into details tahn myself might have though more of it.

you can request one from Mousekeeping upon arrival. Just dial their number from your room and they'll bring one up!!! ::yes::

As far as Broadway goes, it's my fav section at ASMu. The themeing is great!!! And it's the next section beyond Jazz. Enjoy your stay!!!! :goodvibes

We stayed at Broadway about 6 years ago. Actually, I remember it being quiet a long walk. But my most vivid memory about Broadway was that an armadillo crossed my path into the bushes surrounding the building. For an Indiana girl, that was really cool!

I stayed in the Broadway section (bldg 8) in September, and I loved it (I love musicals/NYC so I thought this section would be appropriate). I think it took maybe 5 minutes to walk from the building to Melody Hall....add 1-2 more to go down the stairs from my room (the 1st couple of days probably took longer as I stolled along looking at all the details, but then again I was not driven by the clock). Not bad at all - I walked around the Ariel pool, and thru the Jazz buildings, past the main pool and there you are.

I think it would take longer to walk to your car and drive up there than it would take to walk it.

The Broadway area is all about "Beauty and the Beast" - the musical not the movie. Very cute!

I would definately stay at ASMu again!

Are you sure it wasn't an attempted hairball from "Cats?" :teeth:

Thanks for all the information, this is wonderful! Walking isn't a problem for my party, its just me (26) and a friend (28).
