One of my favorite blogs, and one of the most reliably accurate sources for predictions of whether television series are going to be renewed or canceled, has put up their end-of-January update. It's pretty interesting.

Of the new shows Already Canceled, the only one I didn't think would fail badly was Undercovers, however that became obvious after a few episodes and we dropped it early. The other new series Already Canceled either held no interest for us (The Whole Truth, My Generation, Life Unexpected, Running Wilde) or I could tell from the descriptions and casting that they'd be horrible (The Good Guys, Lone Star, and Outlaw). While not canceled yet, the same goes for a couple of "Certain To Be Canceled" series (Detroit 1-8-7 and The Defenders).
Of the other new series that are listed as "Certain To Be Canceled", the only one that I thought might be good was No Ordinary Family. This is one of the series that we recorded "just in case..." and actually ended up watching. Big regrets there, given that we missed some episodes of NCIS as a result. I won't be sad to see it gone.
I started getting suspicious about The Event when they started over-hyping this show, but they eventually hooked us into trying it. We dropped it mid-season so the fact that they call it "Certain To Be Canceled" won't affect us.
The Cape is the only "Certain To Be Canceled" new series that we're still watching. We weren't planning on it. It really didn't seem like it was going to be successful, but we've "lost" so many series this year (Undercovers, Medium, and Lie To Me) that we needed something to fill it with. It's not really that good, and since I trust the prediction that it is "Certain To Be Canceled" so much, rather than letting this show set me up to be left hanging by a cliff-hanger, I think we'll drop it now.
The other new series "Certain To Be Canceled" either didn't fit into our plans from the start (Chase), or didn't appeal to us from the start (Perfect Couples).
Most of the new series listed as "On The Bubble" are series we thought from the start wouldn't be that good (Better With You, Harry's Law, Outsourced), or shows that we watched the first episode and dumped as a result (Blue Bloods, $#*! My Dad Says). We are watching Off The Map, despite early misgivings about the premise of the series (again, this was due to how many series we "lost"). I'm a little surprised that this show is so far down the list. It's actually not just "On The Bubble" but really very close to the "Likely To Be Canceled" state. This is the only show that is down this far in the ratings that I'd be disappointed if it was canceled.
I'm glad so see the one new series that we really like (Hawaii Five-0) in the "Likely To Be Renewed" category. I'm also glad to see Nikita seems to be safe.
The status of all the veteran series are relatively predictable. I figured Medium was going to die, though am perhaps a little surprised that they decided to end it in January instead of May (this May or last May for that matter). Lie To Me has been hanging on by a thread for a while, so while I'm sad to see it go, it's not a big surprise. Nor is V. Seeing The Good Wife, Fringe and Chuck all On The Bubble is a bit disconcerting, but I am hopeful that two of the three will survive (Fringe being a casualty of how many hours need to be cleared for X-Factor next season).
Brothers & Sisters is worth a mention. It's so far down the "On The Bubble" list that smart money would be to bet it is gone. Though we watched it religiously in past years, we didn't even watch the premiere this past Fall. I guess we weren't alone.
