*** Television Summer 2010 ***

Haven - 'Butterly'

Recap

The show remains interesting. The second episode was actually a little better than the pilot perhaps because they weren't working so hard to get so much exposition in. There is still a distinct lack of chemistry between the characters, so hopefully that will improve over the next few weeks. I do want to know, though..., what things were directed so specifically to put Agent Parker there in Haven, and to prompt her to have an intention to stay.

Eureka - 'A New World'

Recap

Still the best summer television series, and I think this new timeline injects new life into the series. I sure hope Tess sticks around a while.

Next Week
Premieres: Mad Menu (AMC), My Boys (TBS), Breakthrough (NBC), Masterchef (Fox), The Colony (Discovery), Plain Jane (CW)
Finales: Deadliest Catch (Discovery), Cops (Fox)

Loved the typo. Sounds like an interesting show. Is it a spin off from Hell's Kitchen? :lmao:

Parker has relationship issues. Of course she should have, but it'sm hard for her.

But at the same time after watching it again via TiVo I think Alec has an idea but knows she's just not able to say it.

Definitely... she is such a cute character!

Glades - Pilot

Video

This show is a heck of a lot better than it sounded like it was going to be. My first through was do we need yet-another quirky detective show? In this case, the answer is yes. Jim Longworth is different enough from the rest to be of interest, and the pilot gave me some confidence that the show won't be a formulaic clone of other shows.

I agree! I posted earlier that I was surprised by this show and I have high hopes for it now. I just hope that people find it.

Did they do anything on any of their other programs to prompt The Glades?

CBS has dumped The Bridge starring Aaron Douglas, evidently due to remarkably poor ratings.

I am a bit amused by this. The Bridge was in most ways qualitatively better than Rookie Blue (though neither was very good) yet The Bridge gets axed and Rookie Blue gets an early renewal. Very strange. And it isn't really a cost issue, at least not on the surface: Both shows are essentially cop shows, and both shows are Canadian imports.

A prequel movie for Burn Notice, featuring Sam Axe, is being planned.
