I am a little concerned about the recent threads about teenagers running around apparently unsupervised .Snce I have a 2 1/2 year old. Has this been a major concern among other guests?

It wasn't an issue for us on the Nov 4 day on the Wonder last year --- only time I saw teens other than my own was in the elevators as they were going to or coming from the pool area. And at all times they were well behaved.

I don't remember any problems what so ever. You will always find a few that may not behave the way we want them to.

Hopefully, the recent thread about the hormonally challenged teens was one of those once in a blue moon thing. It sounds like it was a small group that kept it going until they got caught.

We had no problem with it on our cruise last week. There was one group of 3 teens together I saw all the time but they were as well behaved as everyone else on board. We had a 14 year old with us and she HATED the cruise. She hated it so much she wanted us to fly her home from Mexico when we stopped there! She said the stack was boring and there was never anything to do, kids werent friendly etc....but....I saw other kids that were 14 having a blast so its what each one makes of it. She isn't really outgoing so that could be part of it...

We had no problems with any teens on our cruise in January.

We have never had a problem on 3 cruises. When I have seen chilldren running around and misbehaving it was usually the 8-10 year old group.

I have been on 3 DCL crusies and I never had trouble w/ teens but I did have trouble with screaming 2 1/2 yr olds in the dining rooms and theaders.

People with young children are concerned about the teens making a disturbance. The people with older children are concerned about the younger children making a disturbance. Now that said I have a 8 year old and a 13 year old, and when I am feeling bothered by a young child crying, running around or screaming I try to remember my children at that age. And if you have young children please try to look into the future( as scary as that may seem) and realize the your children will become a teen one day.

There are bad seeds in every crowd... hard to avoid, but simpler to just ignore. On our 4-day Wonder cruise last month, there were certainly a fair share of misbehaving kids, but they were outnumbered by the good kids maybe 3 to 1.

I got a good perspective on the situation since I have a 17 year old brother (going on 18 in 2 months, so he'll be hanging with the "old folks" next year!) and a 13-year old steppdaughter... they both gave me different views on the teen groups. Nothing horrible, but it's interesting to get the opinions from the two ages.

We were on the April 15 Wonder cruise, and had our 16 & 18 yr old sons with us. I was impressed at how well behaved all of the teens I saw on board were. My older son spent a lot of time playing basketball with a lot of other teen boys - a few times I went looking for him later at night, and would have to ask around as the boys would leave the basketball court to get food, drinks, etc. All the teens I spoke with were very polite and helpful. And when I found him, I watched how he and the others were behaving before letting him know I was there - I was very happy to see how well they behaved. (Of course my son knows how I would have reacted had I ever received any reports of improper or rude behavior!!)
I'm sure there are always the exceptions, but for the most part I think teens are super people!! :bounce:
