Teens wearing pants at their knees..

ok I stopped reading about page 4 so forgive me if this has been touched on,

The look I see now is shorts under the baggy jeans. Like actual shorts not boxers. It looks REALLY strange.

I think the ultra baggy pants are stupid. My son has the same issue as a PP that his pants are baggy simply because he is skinny at this point, not for the look.

On a related note, in Macys the other day, I saw a manequin with 4 layered polos. All with the flipped up collar. So weird!

In the 80s we had "controlled sloppiness" I remember them talking about that name on the news. Its funny to look back on that now. At least our underwear didnt show and we didnt have to walk like penguins

I rarely see kids in this area wearing anything like this and luckily DS was never interested. He's real slim though so no way would baggy pants not fall to his ankles. He barely keeps them on now and they actually fit.

True we all had weird styles but I'm trying to imagine any girls finding that look attractive. I'm trying...

. He will walk around the house and let his pants fall down to his knees just to annoy me...and then I threaten to staple gun them into place. .

Yes, in the evening, before he changes, will call my name - "Mom!", I look, he does a *hop* :yay: in the air, his pants fall, and he thinks it's the funniest thing ever.

Dork. :rotfl:

When older DS first started wearing this look (in junior high), he wore his jeans, shorts from his basketball uniform, a pair of boxer and then a pair of jockeys! :rotfl: And it wasn't just him all the boys wore their clothes that way.

Like CR said, its just a look and kids will go to great lengths to achieve whatever look is "in" in their area.

I used to see boys with the belt across the middle of their butt and their underwear/shorts hanging out the top, but most of the time it was the kids whose mom said they had to wear a belt.

I was always worried about them being able to, say, get out of a building if it was on fire without falling down a dozen times. Restricting your range of motion in your legs like that isn't safe.

ok lets pose the question this way....

What if girls were wearing their pants so low all the time so that you could see their thongs or buts in panties sticking out everywhere?

I think you'd have a different opinion. Its a bit sexist isn't it but its still tasteless and inappropriate. Your undergarments are undergarments and unless your a Victoria secrets model in a catalog when I'm walking down the street I personally don't' want to see your bottom. Also since your letting your kids walk all over Disney like that I say shame on you because little kids toddlers and the like don't need to look at your kids bottoms either... Since you don't care what your kids look like so long as their not shooting heroin that's your choice. That doesn't change the fact that its tacky, it shouldn't be allowed in school (girls would be kicked out or sent home if they dressed this way). Again as a parent its your choice but please don't tell others they don't have the right to find it offensive or tasteless. Because as a female teen posted she finds it offensive and if you took the time to ask you'd find alot more that would also tell you they think its gross.

Or even worse, their muffin tops :scared1:

Yes, let's start judging the overweight next. :sad2:

I wasn't the one to mention muffin tops, but it can happen to slender girls as well, if their jeans are too tight and too low. It is not attractive regardless of weight. Looking for jeans for my skinny 11yo proved this. Some jeans had a zipper that was about an inch long and were very low cut. Can't be comfortable or attractive.

agreed, some folks...i am convinced just choose not to look in the mirror before going out.
We talk about folks in the pools all the time..(men and women) who weigh at least 50 lbs. more than they should....and yet they still think its a good idea to wera a bikini or speedo.:confused3
It just aint right!

Have you not seen the girls with their jeans low and their thong above it? And I see girls every day that can't even lean forward when they sit down because their butt crack will show. They are showing a heck of a lot more than the top of these boy's boxers are going to show you.

As for anyone walking all over Disney, their bottom wouldn't be showing; their boxers would be or a pair of shorts.

And as for the female poster finding it offensive, I find that funny; because I see the boys around here that still wear that style and the number of girls hanging around them. Must not find it too offensive.:confused3

My kids are past this, but I just think that too many people spend way too much time worrying about what someone else is wearing. Especially teens. If everyone would just quit trying to do everything in their power to keep the kids from wearing this style, it would probably finally go away. As long as a teen can get a shock out of some adult; its too much fun for them to quit wearing it.

see I can even understand that to a point but the one I saw the other day was wearing Khaki shorts under baggy jeans. Like he couldnt decide between between the gnagsta look or the preppy look so he just threw it all together and hoped for the best :rotfl2:

That would look odd! :rotfl:

Maybe he wanted to fit in with whichever crowd he came across that day. :lmao:

I can't post it here, but go to youtube and search "why you shouldn't wear your pants sagging." :lmao:

Enough said.

It just aint right!

Being with college students every day proves this statement beyond a shadow of a doubt! :rotfl:

We have a saying at work that we all repeat quite frequently, "just because it comes in your size does NOT mean you should wear it"

(All of us are overweight and always add that it wouldn't look good on us either)
