Teenage Mutant Backseat Dancers - 11/18 UPDATE! P25 - Leaving on a jet plane

Happy new year folks , hope everyone had a great holiday season. Finally caught up .trying to figure out this tablet thingies Lance got me for christmas. I watched a kid at school write an essay on his phone and he not only did the paper but got it turned in via email before the cutoff. My point here is that it took me a week to figure out how to find my email

What Ponzi said! Happy New Year!

Same to you Marita! :goodvibes

And a Happy New Year to you my friend! And to all my favorite DISsers!

Same to you Mortimer! :goodvibes

It's a new year now...

Have you started it yet?

Almost...

How about now? No?

Not quite....

No.

No PTR... Straight to the TR, I think.
But there will be (I think) at least two surprises...

Happy new year folks

And to you too, Betsey! :goodvibes

I predict a short period of frustration followed by a lengthy period of you not being able to put it down.

I watched a kid at school write an essay on his phone and he not only did the paper but got it turned in via email before the cutoff.

:sad2:
You know what this means, don't you?
No more, "The dog ate my homework"!

we woke up to 5-6inches of snow on new years eve I live in the desert for crying out loud.

I saw a picture earlier today of the Grand Canyon covered in snow.
Beautiful!

Might be having a little guilty pleasure that I'm not the only one suffering this winter! :rolleyes1

Did you folks know that water freezes in the pipes who knew

For your own safety... Don't ever... EVER... say that to a Winnipeger.

Last winter over 1,200 homes and businesses were without water due to frozen pipes. (Including my 83 year old MIL)
At the end of June, there were still about 30 waiting to be thawed out.

So, yes..... I knew.

hubby was going to shovel the driveway. I reminded him that we might want to warm up the car before mr. Urgent care went out on the ice driveway. At that point he decided that hot chocolate was a better idea

Good decision.
Hot chocolate is always better than shovelling.

Always.

my question is,however do you do this.

The smart ones move to warmer climes!

Oh well on Monday we head to universal studios Hollywood (we won tickets from a radio station) and it will be back to 75 degrees and business as usual out here.

Free tickets! Sweet! Have a fun trip!

for now I will see about getting more disney stock before Pontiac heads to wow

Gotta love autocorrect.

Must admit... that's the first time I've been called an automobile.
Been called lots worse... but possibly not as odd.
And I think calling Walt DisneyWorld wow is appropriate, don't you?

and runs up the quarter profit margin buying zzzzzzebbbbra dddoommmeess

Must.

Resist...

Must. Not....

Can't do it!!!!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebbbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaa
ddddddddddddddooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........

Happy New Year to everyone here! I was a little busy through the holidays and haven't been around.

Glad you are healing, Heather. I'm on my way over to your thread to read the details.

Smidgy come away from the door already, you'll get a stiff back.

Pondz, your trip must be coming up - what are your dates again?:confused3

Same to you Tammie! :goodvibes

Me too. I was less of around and more of a pear shape.

Darn that Christmas baking!

I find that it's not the baking - it's the eating. ;)

I fly out on February 8th 'til the 13th.
Can't come soon enough. -30F this morning.... brrrrrrrrrrrrr.........

That is crazy cold - I remember it well. Taking a Feb trip will be a nice break for sure! :cool1: We look for "relief" trips in August or September. :goodvibes

We usually have really nice summers up here. Lots of people take time off to spend time at the beach or their cottages.

I am sooooo looking forward to this.

And, hey! What are you doing up so early on a Sunday?
I have to work, what's your excuse??
:rotfl2:

A cottage in the North sounds like a great get-away:thumbsup2
Our dog doubles as an alarm clock. She can't seem to understand the calendar. :upsidedow

I know that feeling!
Our dog knows that she's not allowed to bark in the morning.
So she sighs and yawns really loudly.

Just a news report - be on the lookout for angry Texans - the weather lady just said there is a cold front coming (25 tonight) so we should BLAME CANADA!!! :scared1:

Nope. Not us. If you're only going down to 25 it must be from somewhere else.
If you go down to minus 25... then, yup. That's us.

Plus, angry Texans are the last thing we worry about.
They'd freeze solid before they even got to North Dakota.

:rotfl2: Isn't that the truth. You should see the don their parkas when it gets down to 50! :lmao: It was a false alarm anyway - it only got down to 31.

Up here, I was pleased to see that it had warmed up a bit this morning to -15F.

Current windchill in Ottawa -36C, that's, well, -33F for my 'mercun friends. I walked to the café across the parking lot from my office for a nice hot coffee. I got back with a nice iced cappuccino.

:lmao:
Well, I'm a true Winnipegger. -27C (-17F) with a windchill of -44C (-47F).
Driving to work.
Stop for a slurpee.

Yummee.

I didn't have to worry about brain freeze, since it was already frozen.

Oh my some of these posts made me laugh. My poor DH has had to work outside the last few days in -45C.

First of all :welcome:

Although you're joining in at the tail end of this tale, there'll be a new one out in a few weeks.

I pity anyone who has to work outside during Canadian winters.

Hmmmm.... -45, eh? I suspect you're a tad farther north than Mortimer and I.
Which part of the Great White North are you in? (If you care to share, no worries if you don't.)

I'm beat. Been a long day....
But there was one bright spot!
Got my Magical Express tag in the mail today!

:woohoo:

did you say MINUS 17 degrees:scared1::scared1::scared1: that is beyond my scope of thinking. oh my gosh we were crying like bunch of spoiled babies over a few inches of snow and high 20's over new years. I remember talking to a couple from Winnipeg when we were at wdw and he said the same thing. he was happy for the 40 degree weather we had on that trip. and don't feel bad about your furry alarm clocks folks we have Stanley the wonder dog who walks up and pants on us o wake us up. dog breath in the morning *yuck* but it does get us up in the am. and he makes sure we are up by 5am. he also does not understand Saturdays or sundays
have a good week everybody

Yup. But don't worry, it's not always -17F.

Sometimes it's colder. :rotfl:

I think there's a secret dog society out there whose sole purpose is to disrupt human's sleep.
