Teenage Mutant Backseat Dancers - 11/18 UPDATE! P25 - Leaving on a jet plane

Also, east coast pizza is better. That should get Smidgy riled up, but you know how those midwest tea drinkers are.

:lmao: although I don't think Ive ever had tea and pizza together... well, maybe in the mornign, some cold pizza, but that goes better with coke.

I can't argue since I've never tried east coast pizza...
But I'd heard of Chicago style deep dish pizza all my life... so...

that's cause east coast pizza is thin, thin, thin, and you are supposed to fold it up and cram it in your mouth...(as per John Travolta in Satrurday Night fever) now what kind of "dining experience" is that?:confused3

An incorrect one. Fold a pizza? That means it doesn't have nearly enough stuff on it.
And the crust is too thin.
Just call it a crepe and move on.

What kind of pizza do they serve in Canada? The best pizza is a thin crust with fresh tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and a garnish of fresh basil. There are many variations of course but should be cooked in a pizza oven that will blister the crust without burning the top. It should not look like lasagna...I mean Chicago style.

What you described is a Margherita Pizza.
We have those here too... not everywhere, though.
(But even that I'd prefer on a thick crust... which usually means I'll just make it myself)

A lot of places will offer a choice between thin crust :crazy2: and thick
Nobody I know (up here) offers anything like a Chicago style deep dish...
which is why I wanted to try it.

Back when pizza delivery guys rode dinosaurs, there was only thin crust Pizza.
Then one day, I found (and scarfed down) a thick crust pizza.
I never looked back.

hi there. Nebo asked me to post. remember when I said he was so excited that he can move his thumb? well. now he can't.. and now he can't move his index finger either...sigh...

tomorrow is our post op apt. with the surgean so we might know more them. (I am hoping the "newly implated" tendons didn't break already!!!:faint: )

he wanted me to tell you he is stil working on the chapter inhis mind and will dictate it to me soon.

Sorry I haven't written in awhile. I got a long term job assignment two weeks ago and it's been keeping me busy and tired! It's only two and a half hours a day M-F but its as a lunch room attendant with K-6th graders so its a crazy couple of hours!

DH just got offered a full time job today!!! He starts on Monday. He has one more interview on Friday and he'd rather have that job. So he may not actually be starting the new job on Friday! Understand? Yeah, me either!!!

Wanted to let Ponzi know (and anyone else who may be interested) that DH started the second installment of his graphic novel. He's trying to raise money on kickstarter to get it published. Here's the link (am I allowed to post links?)

I can't believe you're already done with this TR! It went way too fast. Are you doing a mini TR of Halifax? When are you coming back to Cleveland? When are we going to WDW?

Nice to see Nebo for a second. Hope his arm, wrist, hand gets better.

Oh no! Geez I hope his post op appointment went okay.
I will call you guys... I will!
I'm hoping tomorrow, if I don't get called into work again.

Sorry I haven't written in awhile.

Bad kitty! Bad!

 You're forgiven!!! :worship:
I do NOT envy you your job!

Keep us posted.

Actually, I don't think you are... But I won't tell.
I'll have to wait until I get home to check it out.

I can't believe you're already done with this TR! It went way too fast.

Really? I thought it was long!

Are you doing a mini TR of Halifax?

I wasn't planning on it. Why? You want one???

When are you coming back to Cleveland?

I don't know!

When are we going to WDW?

I don't kn.... wait...
Whoa. Deja vu...

I guess he tried out his new tendons toom uch, cause.. darn..they broke.

ok doc says the tendons didn't heal good enough and/or broke and he has to go back in.. SOON!!! like friday!! he is hoping to either repair tendons or take some from other fingers. he siad he will still be able to use those fingers.

I asked about using tendons from the other arm, and he siad he could do that, too, but would rather not involve the other arm. nebo and I figured, with ihs luck betterto leave parts of his body untouched...:rotfl:

Well, yeah, maybe he should learn to type with the fingers on the other hand. I hope Friday's surgery goes well. Try to keep him away from anything too taxing, like typing... Do I have to come up there and type for him? Sounds fun!

Oh, that... well, sucks.
I wouldn't touch the other arm either unless it was FOR SURE going to work and there was 100% no chance that it would affect my good hand.
I would think it would be easier to become a lefty than a no-handy.

Do I have to come up there and type for him? Sounds fun!

And she'd do it too!
(Heh. So would I.)

Hello!!! Playing mega-catch-up here on the DIS after finding myself unable to make computer time for a couple of weeks. :scared1:

Harmonized Sales Tax - WOW. That sounds so melodic and pleasant, not at all like a tax……

The TIF really doesn’t have such a nice ring to it.

 I love the pics of sleeping teens in the car. Wish my 7 year old would do more of that in the car….

The matterhorn picture is hilarious! Reminds me of the bobsled ride that always appears at our local fair. We enjoy it. ;)

Awesome that Elle discovered the love of coasters! Very cool!!!

Your Famous Dave’s server sounds, well, less than stellar. But the food looks good, and that relief of just sitting down in cool air - awwwww, the best!

Top Thrill sounds horrifying! :scared1: But I’m a little disappointed that you didn’t get to do it earlier - I would have loved to read about it.

Slurpee capital of the world???? News to me! And pictures to back it up - 18 flavors! Slurpee heaven!

Okay - that is one giant room, but your “bed” is SO AWFUL! :(

Gah!!!! The Green Van - nightmare! I have a bit of a Road Rage issue - that would have been BAD for me….

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - I may die!!! You got surrounded by THREE COPS for sitting and reading a book! That is priceless!!!!! Welcome to 'Merica! ;)

Hmm - I got one Gump question right plus the soda bonus. Wow. I would like to note that I don’t believe I have seen that movie since the year it was first released. Still, wow.

I can’t believe it’s over! Thank you so much for sharing your journey and your humor. I am a HUGE fan of the non-Disney TR (of course, I’m a fan of the Disney ones too or I wouldn’t be here!) - I think it’s so fun to read about other adventures as well.

Hey - I can remember reading a Nebo TR or two way back before I actually started posting on the DIS! I sure hope that the next surgical go-round actually helps.:goodvibes

There's nothing wrong with the Ford Pinto (as long as it didn't explode). The point was more being OLD enough to remember a Ford Pinto....not the Pinto its self.

I learned how to drive a stick shift in my boyfriend's Pinto, too....from Pasadena to Huntington Beach. We would normally go on his motorcycle but, when he started dating me, he bought a Ford Pinto. His parents didn't like me so, when he wouldn't stop seeing me, they (who had co-signed for the car) returned it to the dealer and he lost his money on the thing. No drama in that family. :rolleyes1

I have heard that one could pop a wheelie in Pintos but I had never seen it done. So, you are really one of a kind who has done something so rare that we, who are lacking, can only whisper about.

:banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1:

from the file of better late than never, I feel so old here. my first car was a 73 pinto wagon. and o it did not burn up either

Hi!!!!

Harmonized Sales Tax - WOW. That sounds so melodic and pleasant, not at all like a tax……

Almost makes you want to pay it.

Almost.

The TIF really doesn’t have such a nice ring to it.

Not as harmonic.

 I love the pics of sleeping teens in the car. Wish my 7 year old would do more of that in the car….

I was just shaking my head the whole time.
"Let's get up early!"
"No problem, we can get up early! Sure we can!"

Uh, huh.

The matterhorn picture is hilarious! Reminds me of the bobsled ride that always appears at our local fair. We enjoy it. ;)

That ride is officially at every fair, everywhere.
It's a rule.

Awesome that Elle discovered the love of coasters! Very cool!!!

Gotta admit, I was pretty surprised by that.
I thought she'd be putting her foot down and refusing to go on some,
let alone begging to go on more!

Your Famous Dave’s server sounds, well, less than stellar. But the food looks good, and that relief of just sitting down in cool air - awwwww, the best!

I honestly wonder how much longer I would've lasted without it.
He may have received a less than stellar tip, too.

Top Thrill sounds horrifying! :scared1: But I’m a little disappointed that you didn’t get to do it earlier - I would have loved to read about it.

 Nebo warned me you people were blood thirsty!
Part of me is saying
"Don't ever go back. That way you can claim you just never got the chance to ride it,
while still keeping what little dignity you have left, intact."

Slurpee capital of the world???? News to me! And pictures to back it up - 18 flavors! Slurpee heaven!

You betcha!

Okay - that is one giant room, but your “bed” is SO AWFUL! :(

Nah, the bed wasn't that bad.... oh, wait...
Yes it was.

Gah!!!! The Green Van - nightmare! I have a bit of a Road Rage issue - that would have been BAD for me….

Says the girl who mastered driving through trees and on cliff edges.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - I may die!!! You got surrounded by THREE COPS for sitting and reading a book! That is priceless!!!!! Welcome to 'Merica! ;)

Keeping the world safe from bookworms everywhere.

I can’t believe it’s over! Thank you so much for sharing your journey and your humor. I am a HUGE fan of the non-Disney TR (of course, I’m a fan of the Disney ones too or I wouldn’t be here!) - I think it’s so fun to read about other adventures as well.

Glad you liked it!
While waiting for Neebs, I might have a little treat for you...
Read on.

We don't tend to have Pintos up here.
That's because in the winter, if it snows and a snowflake hits the bumper,
it blows up.

So while we wait for Nebo to either recuperate enough to peck at a keyboard with his nose,
or for him to start dictating to Smidgy...
(He told me the other day that he's spent way too much time and effort on the chapter to just let it go.)

I'll post a little mini-TR on my Halifax trip.
It'll be heavy on pictures and light on prose.

Would you please stop cheering about me writing less!!!

Sheesh.

Anyway, I'll start it tonight, might be up later... might be tomorrow... or the next day, latest.

Hey, I'm not cheering about you writing less. I love your writing! :thumbsup2

Thanks for keeping us entertained. Maybe I should have skipped the sandhill crane migration and gone to Chicago today...:rolleyes1

Geez that was fast!!
I thought I'd post that and see if there was anyone interested and BOOM! there you are!

The sandhill crane migration sounds more interesting than the sedentary limp wristed coot, anyway.
