Teen singing opportunities?

A little off topic, but we will be in the LA area in August. My son is very interested in trying to pursue an acting/singing career. I would love to be able to have him talk to an agent/manager and/or have some sort experience auditioning, taking a one day class or just touring a recording studio. Does anyone have any ideas? Are there any teen open mic nights? Where do I start to look?
