Do the really seperate the teens in the teen group by age? I thought someone said that they have the 13-14 year olds together and the 15-17 year olds together. How often are they together for activities and how often are they seperated?

I am just not sure how I feel about my 13 or 14 year old DDs being with 15-17 year olds. There is a BIG difference in those ages.

Thanks,
DJ

As far as I know they do not separate them as to ages.

They sometimes have a few different activities that are limited to certain age groups but on the whole they share the same space and do the same activities.

I know here that all of those ages are together in the same school, so to me it makes really no difference if they are together or separate. I don't know for sure how other school districts are run.

Interesting thoughts. I have a 17 year old that will not be interested in the teen stuff if it involves alot of 13/14 year olds. There is a large difference in maturity in those groups and while it is true that most high schools are 15 - 18, the largest span of ages rarely interact (at most of the schools around here anyway) because their classes are very different.

I know when my daughter was 13 I wouldn't have wanted her at a dance with the oldest high schoolers. Have you seen them dance lately :earseek: :earseek:
Yikes.

My DS was 13 and didn't do a lot of the Stack activities because he said the older kids were very clique-y and tried to boss around the younger kids. It was fine for him though...he spent most of his time at the arcade and eating pizza and ice cream!

My DS(13) said the same thing. He went once and then spent his time in the arcade.

Now the teen group is 13-17 year olds. The have the same place they share but some activitys are the same but most the time they have diifrent activites. The break is 13-15 year olds and the the 16-17 year olds

As far as I know, it wasn't split up like that in November, or maybe my DS didn't give it enough of a chance.

We were on the ship in September. The teens club did not separate the ages for any activity. The dancing was a real eye-opener for my girls (13 and 14). :earseek:

My older girl was SO looking forward to the club. However, the lack of supervision, the remoteness of the Stack, and the older kids and their attitudes made her uncomfortable at times.

The behavior of the older boys towards my daughters caused enough concern on our part that we went to guest services. They did try to correct some issues, and got back to us later to see if we were still concerned.

End result is that my girls aren't as thrilled to go to the club this next cruise coming up. They'll give it a try, but it won't be the main focus for them that it once was.

IMHO, Disney needs to seperate this age group a bit more. Socializing can be stressful enough for kids...it shouldn't be made more so on vacation!
