I have five girls. When they were younger I had the bargains for clothes shopping down to a science. Now that four of them are wearing teen clothing I need new information.

We have had very limited success at thrift stores. We have found some stuff at Plato's Closet. What about retailers? Who has great sales, reward programs, etc?

Three of mine need complete summer wardrobes so I need to find a way to do that without breaking the bank!

Thanks for your help in advance!

Yard sales. If you don't live in a good area for them ask a relative who does if they will find stuff for you while they are out looking for their own stuff. We sent so much clothing over to my sister in Italy for her kids that she asked me to stop.

I got lucky that a friend has twin girls that are big fashionistas- they happen to be 2 years older than my daughter. And as they say "she fit the suit" Same body types.
She has gotten a ton of hand me downs from them.
Just now though she is getting too tall for them. She likes Boden- but that's mail order.

I can find deals at Abercrombie and Holister- because she is a tiny size they are still available. Walk to the back of the store. And join facebook pages of stores she likes. You'll end up with coupons from them.
Good luck.

I think it really depends upon their style. As PP mentioned "like" their favorites on Facebook for coupons. I'm not sure about places like Torrid, PacSun, etc. but if they are in to Abercrombie, Hollister, American Eagle and Aeropostale definitely also sign up for their e-mails. I get good sale info from them all the time. American Eagle and Aeropostale also give cashback using Ebates or rewards points thru mypoints (and possibly other programs those are just the ones I use). American Eagle also has a rewards card program which gets you coupons in the mail.

I got the American Eagle rewards card for my son. Aeropostale always has some kind of deal going on. I have found lots of deals for my son and myself there. Last year I found a capri type sweatsuit for myself: shirt, pants and jacket. 75% off . Total price for all 3 was $30.00.

I was going to suggest Plato's Closet, but I see you already do that. That is a place where you have to kind of go every once in awhile and check what they have.

I just took my older DD to Kohls and she got several shorts and a couple tops. I had a 30% coupon on top of their good sales. They had lots of shorts in the $10 range plus the coupon extra off that.

My younger DD is a little more picky when it comes to brands.

How old are your teens?

I found when mine were younger (13-15) they really liked Old Navy and Aeropostle. As they got older it was more American Eagle, Abercrombie, and Hollister. I also had good luck at JC Penney and Kohls.

I mix it up between Kohl's, Aeropostale and ebay. I get basics like jeans at Kohl's and Aeropostale, then I will go to ebay to get more expensive brands like Hollister. I've had good luck with sales/clearance at Pacsun, too.

If you have a Savers in your area try there. We have been able to get lots of nice shorts/jeans for my daughter from the higher end (mall stores) designers for less than $7 or so a pair. I also like Kolh's, Macys and JCPenny

We found the same thing with Plato's Closet. You really have to go once a month to really fill out a wardrobe. You can't just go with a list of everything you need for the summer and find it in a day. But, I LOVE that place!!!

We've had some luck with Target. My oldest wanted some graphic t's and didn't find them at our local thrift shop or PC. Went to Target and found some fun ones for $5! Nope, not name brand. But, fun nonetheless!

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. We have had some luck at Kohls. I don't have much luck at our Savers.

The girls are 13-17. They do like some Aeropostale but there stuff looks pretty similar all the time. A couple are not brand specific and a couple would like the AE and Hollister.

My girls who are 13 and 16 love, love, love TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I can get great stuff for all of us there.

Are Marshalls and TJMaxx the same store or are there some differences?

I used to buy clothes at Debs. They usually have good prices on items. I got a couple of cute sun dresses for a buck. Jeans are usually on sale too. I dont get many shirts there. they either have silly sayings on them (cute with an attitude type stuff) or a bit on the club kid side but i enjoy the jeans and some of the dresses. i believe you can sign up for deals too.

I got a great deal on skinny jeans at Forever 21 a month or so ago. I think they were $11 each or so. they sometimes have some good deals. We shop at Savers and TJ Maxx quite a bit. Also Kohls since we seem to always have coupons for there.

There are some differences but essentially they are the same store. At one time they were different companies but now they are both owned by the same parent company so the clothes are really similar, but they will have different items in stock so it definitely pays to check both. I have gotten AE Jeans for oldest DS at Marshall's.

Also if they are in to Hollister definitely sign up for their e-mails. They just had a really good coupon sale not that long ago where Ts could be had for under $10/ea with some as low as $5.

I get a lot of my kids clothes at Ross. Name brands for about 50-75% off of retail sometimes. I noticed that Ross is cheaper than Marshalls and TJ Maxx.

My girls love(d) Rue 21, forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and while driving home from Myrtle Beach, we stayed overnight in VA and shopped at Deb. They were never really Aero/Hollister girls. Did you sign up for your local Freecycle group? I have gotten rid of some of dds clothing on there. Can't get better than free!
