Team Renfroe trip report with TONS of pics & reviews

[
I did not say it in the original post, but I just can't help myself....the people that you see in the picture at Teppan Edo that we sat with were obnoxious!! Geeesh. That guy in the green shirt talked and talked and talked. That's the ONLY downside to the Teppan experience...you never know who you'll be sitting with!

That is one of the reasons my DH and DS would not let me make an ADR for Biergarten. We were sandwiched between obnoxious rude people. We ran out of there without dessert.
I made an ADR for dinner at Teppan Edo for our upcoming trip and I hope it is not a repeat.
I am really enjoying your report.

Had 2 catch up-i missed 2 days.
O'hanas breakfast looked really good+your day at Epcot was fab:thumbsup2 .
Then i saw at the bottom up next Blizzard Beach+i thought :woohoo: woohooooo:woohoo: here we go the day i had been waiting for:banana: -well i am disappointed big time with you Alan :( :lmao: . You guys looked like you had fun, well done to your son for riding Slush Gusher:thumbsup2 .x.

Great update!! Sorry you had to have lunch with someone who was obnoxious. That is the bad thing about restaurants with group seating, you just do not know who you will sit by. Can't wait to hear your take on Tutto Italia, we are having dinner there also. Can't wait for more.

I just came across your report and spent the past few hours reading it.
You have a beautiful family. It looks like you guys had a great first visit.
I like the dining report/trip report all in one. :thumbsup2
I agree that Blizzard Beach is very confusing to find your way around. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Thanks for sharing.

The victorious picture of your son is adorable. And the look on his face when you had to share the raft is hilarious!

It seems you got a lot in for such a short amount of time!

I need to stop going out in the evenings, I miss too much of your TR!! :rotfl:
Great updates, Glad you liked your lunch in Japan and Blizzard Beach looked fantastic! You've definately put me in the mood for going back to the water parks, we have an amazing photo from Teamboat Springs the last time we went to BB and I have to say looking at your photo's brings back so many memories!! :)
Can't wait for the next installment!

So happy to have you and your lovely family back at tea this morning! :surfweb: Missed you all yesterday. (I just hate it when life interferes with my DISing!)

And, yes, you more than made it up to me for that temporary little picture overload by sharing your adventures around the world (showcase). lol

I'm really impressed with the way you and DS took on BB! :thumbsup2 We've never been to the water parks and were considering spending our last day hopping from TL to BB. It was suggested that that might prove to be a bit much for one day. But now that I see how much fun you guys had in an hour and a half we might just have to try it! :worship:

It's true, it's true! Oh well....who would've thought that I would have the pictures to be viewed more than 20,000 in one month! I think it resets after each month.

WHAT? You had 20,000 views! OMG!

WHAT A CELEBRITY!

I can't believe I'm just finding this TR! It's great! I especially love the reference to the Griswold's and agree with other Diser's that based on this TR it seems like you're already a Disney afficionado! Your family is beautiful and I'm glad that you had a great experience at the world. I also love seeing all the pics of CSR and the food porn! We are staying at CSR for the first time in September and seeing your pics makes me want to go NOW! We are also doing some of the same restaurants so it was nice to see some pics of the food and the accompanying reviews. I am going to try my hand at a TR this year and can only hope it ends up as good as yours! Can't wait to read about the rest of your vacation.

~Beka~

Looks like a fab couple of hours at BB ::yes:: , we all love the waterparks they are great fun but not sooo relaxing....:rotfl: especially when keeping the children entertained ;) , I didn't like riding the chair lift, weird sensation but then again I was ill with a heart virus at the time of our hoilday :worried: . Did your DW & DD have a relaxing time whilst your were having fun?

Just found your TR yesterday. Great job! Thanks for sharing your experiences and great dining reviews with us. :thumbsup2

I'm hopping on the train here at the end of the ride but I'd still love to see how this TR ends. :D

You're making me want to go back to WDW!

Although I started in on your trip report VERY late, I just wanted to tell you that I'm loving it. We're eating at several of the restaurants that you did, and now I'm looking forward to them even more. Also, your kids are adorable! Thank you for sharing your trip with us :)

Wow you accomplished a lot at BB in a short amount of time! Cool!
So sorry that your teppan edo lunch was kind of spoiled by your table mate. I have had that happen at Benihana in the past. To me it was still worth it though. We just kind of became rude after awhile and totally ignored the man making all the rude comments. It was quite embarrassing as our chef was japanese and he was telling off color asian "jokes".
Looking forward to your dinner report!

What great fun you and your son are having! I'd have never thought to hop over to BB for an afternoon - great idea! :thumbsup2

This trip report has been so much fun - I will really hate it when it ends!

Thanks very much! We really tried to do as much as possible. I didn't think we would have a chance to go to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, but we decided to go, even if only for an hour and a half. I'm glad we did!

Great update, Alan! I loved your pics of Epcot! At Teppan Edo, does the chef make your meal right in front of you? Very cool! :) Loved hearing about Blizzard Beach.....your DS is so brave!! Can't wait for more!

Thanks, Figment's Friend. Yes, the chef cooks everything in front of you and he makes it fun for the kids.

You're right...DS is brave! I think we've created a little thrill junkie!

We LOVE Blizzard Beach!! (Well I do anyway). My DS 13 loves that wave pool because the wave is HUGE. It IS very confusing to maneuver. The signs are helpful BUT you have to find them and if you don't know the name of the ride, its even harder. I thought I was getting on the slush gusher and ended up on the Summit Plummet :scared1: . At 65 mph I got a little bit of "burn" on the way down. Think of it as your DD's experience on the Crushin' Gusher at TL.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks BB can be confusing. It is a beautiful park though.

That's hilarious that you ended up on Summit Plummet! A burn at 65 MPH can't feel good!

Alan as usual a great update !! Atip for your next trip we dissers share info and in Feb I got a great upgrade forthe tickets I was upgraded to include water parks , Pleasure Island and Disney Quest and possibly more ANd I gor money back Mt TA is just amazed !! I alos got the upgrade for a co worker in April plus she saved over $200! So stay in touch with the Dis these people are awesome . I didn't buy a Cup at Klub Kool but will def. get them when the family goes next year!!

Thanks, englishrose47! That is great information! We were Disney virgins when we booked our trip, and I've learned sooo much since then. I find myself wishing that there was a website like this one for other aspects of my life! DISboards rock.

I am really enjoying your report.

You should be fine. The entire restaurant was filled with nice people enjoying thier vacations, and we are "lucky" enough to be seated with the only jerk in the building! He was just a big-mouth, know-it-all. It didn't ruin our experience or anything, but we were in no mood to stick around any longer than we had to.

Had 2 catch up-i missed 2 days.
O'hanas breakfast looked really good+your day at Epcot was fab:thumbsup2 .

Hey x! Sorry to disappoint...as one of my favorite rock bands, The Rolling Stones, would say..."You can't always get what you want!" :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I was impressed that DS took on Slush Gusher without fear. If we would've had more time, I have no doubt that he would've wanted to do Summit Plummet as well. :scared1:

Thanks, Melissa! I think it is kind of funny that I've got pictures of this guy posted on the internet and calling him a jerk!! :rotfl2: Oh well, I just call 'em like I see 'em! The food was still excellent!

I just came across your report and spent the past few hours reading it.
You have a beautiful family. It looks like you guys had a great first visit.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad you are enjoying my report, Melissa! Thanks for the compliments!

I wondered if anyone else found Blizzard Beach's layout to be confusing. It sounds like we are not the only ones!

The victorious picture of your son is adorable. And the look on his face when you had to share the raft is hilarious!

It seems you got a lot in for such a short amount of time!

:rotfl: :rotfl2: I LOVE those two pictures! I really didn't take many photos at Blizzard Beach because we weren't there for very long...but those two pictures are hilarious! You can just see the excitement on DS's face in the victorious picture.

I really enjoyed your World Showcase and BB updates. We are going back to BB in October since we haven't been since 2003. We tried typhoon lagoon in March and it was a very nice waterpark but I think we like most of the slides better at BB. can't wait to hear all about Tutto Italia. Keep the CSR pics coming :thumbsup2 we are booked there now for October. I switched from WL to sabe a bi of $$$. CSR looks great though.

Thanks, Barb! We sort of used our water parks & more option as our park hopper. I would definitely do that again!

Doing two parks in one day is definitely doable. I'm a little on the ADD side anyway, so I can do a lot in a couple of hours! We did not see and do everything in every park, but we did the main things we most wanted to do.

WHAT? You had 20,000 views! OMG!

WHAT A CELEBRITY!

I know, right? You would've thought!

We are still here and loving your TR so very much!:goodvibes

Always great to "see" you! Glad you are still enjoying the report!

Welcome, Beka! I loved being referred to as a "Disney afficionado!" :rotfl2:

After the report is finished, I will post some of the food pics on the food porn thread.

You all will LOVE Coronado Springs! It is so beautiful and peaceful. We just LOVED it. :woohoo:

Good luck with putting together a TR. It is a GREAT way to relive your trip and share your fond memories with others. IN addition, it is enjoyable for everyone.

Hi Karen! DS & I did enjoyed riding the chair lift, but we were surprised at how long the wait was. We only rode up one time.

DW & DD did have a relaxing time, and they needed a little extra time to get ready for dinner.

Just found your TR yesterday. Great job! Thanks for sharing your experiences and great dining reviews with us. :thumbsup2

Hi, John's Mom! Thanks very much and welcome to my report!

I'm hopping on the train here at the end of the ride but I'd still love to see how this TR ends. :D

You're making me want to go back to WDW!

Welcome, GBShorts! Hope you enjoy the rest of the report!

Aww...thank you SO much for your kind words! Glad you are enjoying the report.

Wow you accomplished a lot at BB in a short amount of time! Cool!

Hi, SunnieRN! Hope all is well with you!

Normally, it wouldn't matter to us who we were seated with....I like to think that I can get along with most anyone. This guy was just obnoxious. It sounds like you know exactly what I mean from your Benihana experience. Some people don't know how to act in public. :furious:

I really enjoyed your World Showcase and BB updates. We are going back to BB in October since we haven't been since 2003. Hi kaysmommie! I think you'll love CSR - we certainly did! Glad you are enjoying my pics. More to come.

After DS and I got back to Coronado Springs, we quickly got ready to catch the bus back to Epcot.

Once we got back to Epcot, we took the ferry across the lake to Germany, then walked over to the Italy Pavilion.

We arrived at Tutto Italia at about 6:10pm for our 6:15pm reservation. We only waited about 10 minutes before we were seated.

Tutto Italia was a beautiful restaurant - and very crowded! Lots of people who did not have reservations were being turned away.

Loving the beautiful picture of your children sitting on the bench :cutie: :thumbsup2 .x.
