Team Renfroe trip report with TONS of pics & reviews

Overall, I give this restaurant a 4.0 out of 10. The only reason I give it a 4, and not lower, is because the carving station was decent. The prime rib from the carving station was eatable. The salads were absolutely sub-par. Both the Caesar and the mixed green salads were soggy and had no crispiness whatsover. The veggies were so gross...it looked like lunchroom food! I thought I was in 10th grade again! Our server's name was Bing, and he barely spoke English.

I promise that you will not get anything negative from me for the rest of this report.... but this dinner was horrible. I'm so sorry if I offend any of the readers, but I feel obliged to give my honest opinion.

:lmao: I love the 'lunchroom comparison'!
Hey, I don't care if you rant as long as it is the truth!!

DD looks adorable, they did a great job! Oh I just love Finding Nemo, The Musical! Those actors are so talented. Can't wait for your Yak and Yeti review, we're eating there this December and have never been. Inside it looks great. :)

I'm glad your daughter felt better and that you took your son to HS while she was feeling under the weather. They did a great job on the face painting. The Yak and Yeti looks neat. It wasn't open when I was there, so your pictures are the first ones I've seen of the interior.

So pleased your DD is smiling her beautiful smile again.
This trip report is great-looking forward to Yak & Yeti review - we've an ADR booked for dinner on 20th August, then hoping to ride EE in the dark -or as dark as it gets by 9pm (EMH)

Another great installment! Your DD looks adorable with her face painted, very good choice!! I love it!
Primeaval Whirl was one of our favourite rides last time we went to WDW, we were laughing the entirely time round and the CM wouldn't let us off (there was no queue) which made it even funnier!
I love how you post pictures of all the menu's, it's such an ingenious idea... makes me so hungry though!! :rotfl:

Your TR is awesome! I check back daily just to see if you've added more! Sorry your DD got so sick(I've been there and done that in WDW, myself and kids) it's not fun no matter hwere you are. Glad she bounced back so quickly! Can't wait to read about Yak and Yeti! We're thinking about trying to get in during our July vacation but I'm unsure, maybe you can help me make up my mind! Doesn't Yak and Yeti also have a Counter service location if we couldn't get a ressie?

I love the photos you got while spinning on Triceratop--I haven't had a chance to see Dinoland from that perspective before. I wish every trip report had as many photos as yours! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your review on Yak & Yeti--we're supposed to try it this August.

just finished reading your fantastic report, your pictures are great, cant wait to read some more:thumbsup2

Wow, what fantastic pictures in both parks! Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom! I can't believe I missed so much in a day and 1/2.
I can't wait to hear your report on Yak and Yeti as that is one place my daughter wants to go for sure!
Your daughter looked so pale in the morning, but as the day is continuing she is sure perking up! Her face painting was adorable!
You all seem to just get along so well and everything goes so smoothly! It's awesome to see and hear that!!!

Alan, fantastic Trip Report! I can't believe it's taken me this long to find it.

It looks like you and your adorable family really had the most amazing holiday ever!

You've certainly inspired me to take as many pics as possible when we go over!

As the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons would say "Best Trip Report Ever"

:)

Glad DD was all better! Great up close shots of the Tree of Life!

Thanks, Figment's Friend!

excellent tr! subscribing love the links to the next thread and the pics!

Thanks, LMO429! Welcome aboard!

Great update and pics again. Looks like everyone was having a good time.

Thanks, TCKK! We loved Animal Kingdom....especially the first hour. In the afternoon it started getting really hot & humid.

Love the AK pictures! So much of it is new to me since I've only been there once a LONG time ago. I like the many perspectives, especially the views from higher up.

For Primeval Whirl, you said you guys liked the spinning part. Do you typically not get dizzy during spinning parts? The ride seems very fun to me, but I'm afraid I'd get dizzy!

Thanks, RachelNinja! I usually don't have any problems with spinning rides. I had stopped riding them for years, but a few years ago DS discovered a Tilt-A-Whirl ride and he LOVES them. He makes me and DW ride with him....so I've built my tolerance back up to the spinning. On Primeval Whirl, the first few turns are very jerky, but all of the sudden the jerkiness stops and spinning takes its place. That's when the ride really gets fun! I'm not sure how well you tolerate spinning, but you will definitely SPIN!

Great AK photos! Just wanted to comment on the storyline of the Safari. I thought it ws goofy too until I had 4-6 yr olds with me and they really bought into the storyline hook, line, and sinker. They were on the look out for poachers & on the bridge my daughter put fingernail marks into my arm that lasted for days. She was soooo freaked out just sure we were doomed. After that, I'm OK with the corny storyline. I understood who it was for.

That is a great perspective, estherhead. I can see how the storyline might entertain younger visitors. Also, the thing I DID like about the storyline is that it reminded me of rides we used to ride as kids at other amusement parks.

I had warned DD about the collapsing bridge ahead of time so she would not freak out! She was still very clingy from being sick, and I thought giving her a 'heads up' might be a good idea. Since she knew it was coming, she enjoyed it very much!

Your kids are adorable!! Sorry your DD got sick

I'm loving the trip report and especially the food pics!!!:thumbsup2

Your DD was adorable during her dinner with Cinderella!

Aww...thanks very much!

:lmao: I love the 'lunchroom comparison'!
Hey, I don't care if you rant as long as it is the truth!!

When I read restaurant reviews, I don't just want to know that you did or didn't like it, I want to know WHY. I was trying to think about what it was that I didn't like about the H&V buffet, and it just reminded me of eating in a lunchroom! :rotfl2: It's the truth as I see it!!

DD looks adorable, they did a great job! Oh I just love Finding Nemo, The Musical! Those actors are so talented. Can't wait for your Yak and Yeti review, we're eating there this December and have never been. Inside it looks great. :)

Thanks! We did love Finding Nemo: The Musical. I wish I could describe it better, but I would tell anyone of any age that is planning to go to Animal Kingdom...you MUST do this show! It is great.

You will not be disappointed with Y&Y!

I'm glad your daughter felt better and that you took your son to HS while she was feeling under the weather. They did a great job on the face painting. The Yak and Yeti looks neat. It wasn't open when I was there, so your pictures are the first ones I've seen of the interior.

DD loved the face painting! Her grandmother had given her $25 to spend on souvenirs and she spent it all at Animal Kingdom. The face painting was $12, and she bought a Penguin webkinz as well.

So pleased your DD is smiling her beautiful smile again.
This trip report is great-looking forward to Yak & Yeti review - we've an ADR booked for dinner on 20th August, then hoping to ride EE in the dark -or as dark as it gets by 9pm (EMH)

Thanks, Shazzie B! Riding EE in the dark sounds AWESOME!

Thanks very much! DS and I were laughing throughout the Primeval Whirl ride as well! It is a well-designed ride and a lot of thrills for such a small coaster. How fun that the CM wouldn't let you off! That's a neat memory!

Another great update Alan!! I took everyone one Dinasaur last year and was the only one who liked it.I wont do Rollercoaster but dark scary rides I love !! I got quite the talking to for not preparing them for Dinasaur. DGS freaked out ! I thought he liked Dinasaurs and didn't realise how bumpy, dark and scary it was . Anyway I rode it solo this year and loved it!! I ate at Y&Y counter service and had the shrimplomein and mago pie both excellent!!

As we were on the ride, I just thought the views were really neat...so I took out the camera and snapped a few shots. I didn't really think they would take, but they turned out well! Thanks!

just finished reading your fantastic report, your pictures are great, cant wait to read some more:thumbsup2

Thanks, jjk! Glad you are enjoying the report.

Thanks, SunnieRN! DD did perk up a little, but then really started to feel drained from the heat. She definitely never made it back to 100% on this day.

I'm glad it seems that we all get along so well! Of course things aren't always perfect, and DS & DD fight like cats and dogs....but all is well at Disney World!

Oh yeah you make me feel bad about not going on TOT-thanks  .

Thanks, x. You are SO right about "It's tough to be a bug"! I had forgotten about the 'sting' in the back. That was a little freaky...but we took it in stride. DD sat in my lap, so she didn't get that sensation. She would have FLIPPED out if so!

You have made great choices for Yak & Yeti. My report is coming up but the steak & shrimp is wonderful, as is the brownie!

Alan, fantastic Trip Report! I can't believe it's taken me this long to find it.

:)

Thanks very much for your kind comments, raph_b. LOL!! I LOVE the comic book buy from the Simpsons! We I was younger, I used to collect baseball cards, and every small town baseball shop owner had the same attitude as the comic book guy!! :rotfl2:

Awesom trip report! I am so glad that I found this!!!!!! Looking forward to the next installment!! :goodvibes

Thanks, lindseynleah! Glad you are enjoying the report!

Hi englishrose! DS had the shrimp lo mein and LOVED it!

I cannot wait to hear about Y&Y! We are headed there in 10 days!

Thank you very much, Susiev! Hopefully you'll love Yak & Yeti as much as we did. They do have a counter service location as well.

Hi englishrose! DS had the shrimp lo mein and LOVED it!

I wonder if the shrimp lomein is the same inside as out! I thoroughly menjoyed, only thing is the outside seating, I was there i9n Feb so not a problem ,but in the summer it would be HOT!!

I'm meant to be revising for two exams I have on Thursday...instead I found myself reading the WHOLE of your trip report, in one go! I just couldn't 'put it down', so to say.

One of the best TR's I've read so far - great job!

Loved your DD's tiara and dress from CRT and her face painting - fantastic :thumbsup2 And your DS...wow! He can eat!

Keep it up - can't wait for the next lot! Though maybe its a good job there's no more to read at the moment...I can get some revision done!

:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the detail and pics you are putting in your TR. I am just chomping at the bit until I can start planning our vacay! I think Disney releases the 09 rates in August then I can start planning:cool1: ! Thanks for helping me pass the time with your great story! Keep up the good work!
