Team Rebel Alliance Introduction

Morning everyone!

I am pretty proud of myself because I got up before the sun did and went for a 2mile run :woohoo: I think this is the first time I have ever been able to get up for excercise before work! :cool1: and it was so nice out, I was amazed how many other people were out aswel, in my head I was like "what are they doing out so early, crazy people" :rotfl2: Anyway as you might be able to tell I am pleased with my little self :cutie:

Have a good day guys

Kirsty

Hi everybody.
Life has been crazy around here with it nearing the end of the school year. I'll try to check in a couple of times a week. Sounds like everyone is doing well with the training....minus a few injuries.;) Kirsty, I hear you on having a 3 year old around, they can cause some aches and pains and amazingly make some go away. I've been a little lazy the last few weeks, so I'm going to have to start building up my mileage again. Take care all.

Hey guys,
Its a little chilly here right now at about 50 degrees and a little rainy. That being said, I woke up today and I really wanted to go for a bike ride and neither hell nor high water was going to stop me. So I went for the first ride of the season and strangely I was the only one on the bike path. I can't imagine why no one else wanted to ride in the cold and the rain. It was a short ride for about 10 miles but it tired me out. I still have a chest, shoulders, and triceps workout to do tonight.

Kirsty - Congrats on the early run. You're a better person than me. I tell myself I should get up early for the workouts and even set my alarm. Unfortunately that snooze button just seems so nice in the morning.

Tracey - I know what you mean with school ending. I have less than 2 weeks left and finals are really going to cut down on my free time.

Thats it for now. Hopefully I force myself to do the resistance training I need to do. Right now that couch is sounding awefully nice though.

Steve

Kirsty-Nice job on the early run! I would love to be up and out before anyone but I just can't do it. The kids get up at 7 and need to be out the door for school at 8. I just can't seem to pull myself out of bed at 6 no matter how hard I try. At least I work from home so I can pretty much run when I want and work around it. But it sounds nice to start the day that way and have it crossed off your to do list so early!

Steve-Good job getting out there despite the cold!

Tracey-I hear ya on a busy time of year! Our last day of school is not till June 24 (sooo many snow days this year!) but May is such a busy time. My oldest dd is in softball and they now have games every M/W/F night till mid June. It is crazy! Middle dd plays soccer, at least those games are on Saturdays. I try to get youngest ds to Karate when we can between the girls schedules. And throw Girl Scouts, horseback riding and drama in there for good measure. At least drama is over in 2 weeks!

Me? Today was in the low 90s and steamy! So I did not run. I worked from home and then laid out on my deck and vegged. It was quite nice! :)

Hi Team, just checking in... I'm still on the fence about the duathlon but I printed the application and have it on my desk... step one, I guess. I keep looking at it... On another note, I entered the lottery today for the NYC Marathon! I must be crazy! I have a half three weeks before that and of course the DL half in September. I'll have to do lots of long runs in the horrible heat of summer to prepare for it - but I just couldn't resist the lottery aspect. Its out of my hands now...

Kirsty - way to go on the morning run! I LOVE early morning workouts; problem is I love my snooze button too! I DO do all my long runs at 6:30 on Sunday mornings, so I know what you're talking about. Its so quiet, and cool, and the only other people you see are also working out... Keep it up! And good luck with your hip.

Steve - do you actually live in Toledo? My dh is from there...

Allyson - how nice of you to get a friend into running! Sometimes it just takes a little encouraging to change a person's life for the better.

I have the OC 1/2 this weekend, send me good vibes...and don't forget, registration for the Princess half opens Friday!!:yay:

TTFN,
Tammy

Hey Team,
I just finished my first workout in the phase two portion of P90X. I was supposed to do it yesterday, but I was tired from the bike ride. This work out was intense. I worked the muscles under the muscles that I didn't know existed. I am supposed to do abs but right now I cant think about doing anymore exercise today.

Tammy - I kind of live in Toledo. I go to school in Toledo so I'm here for most of the year. I would like to look into a small duathlon too. I love to bike and I have a love/hate relationship with running. I would like to try a triathlon, but I'm not the greatest swimmer.

Allyson - I won't lie. I'm kind of jealous of your 90 degree weather. I would have vegged too.

Tomorrow I plan on running and maybe a back and bicep workout. Talk to you guys later.

Steve

Hi everybody!
Steve....congrats on the bike ride in the rain (the mom in me feels the need to say, "Be careful." Good luck with finals.
Allyson...I know we're all in the same boat...but May is so crazy and for you, I'm guessing that June is as well. Laying out on the deck sounds so nice.
Tammy...I say, do the duathlon, it sounds like fun. Good luck with the lottery.
Have a great day everyone.

Hey guys!

I did it again, I got up at 6 this morning and went for another 2 miler, it is really nice out, I also wanted to do it yesterday but the snooze button won out! I actually really like going out early, its just the motivation to get out of bed that is the issue! I am still having trouble breathing, even on short runs, but I am hoping this is going to subside!

I want to get a long one in this weekend but my employer is having surgery so I dont know how much free time I will get!

Steve - Good job on the bike ride in the cold, that shows commitment :)

Tammy - I really hope you can get into the NYC that would be amazing, and putting it up to fate is a great idea! Good job with printing the application now all you need to do is fill it in and send it off :)

Allyson - Vegging out on the deck sounds like a good plan! The kid just got roller skates and a bike for her birthday and it is my job to chase her round and catch her in 90 degree, oh well could be worse i guess :rotfl2:

OK guys speak to you all soon

Kirsty

Whats up team,
My internet was out for a few days so I couldn't post. Good news is I got in a game of golf yesterday and a short run today. Bad news is I am putting P90X on hold for a couple weeks. I don't have heavy enough dumbells anymore so I'll start back up when I get back to SC for the summer. Also, at risk of showing just how big of a disney geek I am, I managed to get a hold of the background music from innoventions, so thats what I was listening to while I was running. Hope everyone else is doing well. Talk to you guys later.

Steve

Hey guys,

I went on a 6mile run yesterday, and I am finally starting to feel fitter :cool1: but then after a day of walking around the hospital helping all the sick kids I was pooped and fell asleep at like 8pm :rotfl2: (I know I am a real party animal) I am still undecided on if I will run today or not, it is pretty hot out there still so we will have to see :goodvibes

Steve - I don't think you are a geek I run to the Illuminations music and sometimes the fantasmic CD, which also has all the words in so I can pretend to be Mickey :rotfl2:

Have a good day guys

Kirsty :cutie:

oooh I just remembered, I also like to run to the EPCOT fountains music, it puts a nice bounce in my stride!

Kirsty

I think it is great that you run to Disney music! Make you feel like you are there!

Today DH and I went to the school track. I don't like running in circles but it is nice because the kids can be at the playground and we can run. We did 2.25 miles. I thought we were done at 1.75 but he started around again. And then again. I couldn't let him do more than me so I kept going with him. It is feeling better, getting back into this after the long stretch without it.

As for running songs, I love running to Jason Mraz "I'm Yours" because it is just a nice easy pace and it is happy! :goodvibes And today Taylor Swift's "Love Story" was nice too. And when I want to kick it up nothing like a little Britney and "Womanizer"!

It can be helpful tips that helped you as a WISHer and athlete. Or it can be simply the funniest, most useless, or totally inappropriate for a situation. Just so long as it's memorable.

Whats up everyone,
I'm taking a study break right now and I decided to get my disboards fix for the day. I don't think I'll be putting up any numbers today. I've been up almost the whole night studying and the first thing I'm doing when I'm done with tests is sleeping.

As of now, I have less than a week until I'm in Disney and I can't wait. I have a question for everyone. What is the one thing that you absolutely have to do/see while you're in Disney World? Just trying to spark some conversation and maybe give me ideas for what I should do while I'm there.

Kirsty - Nice job in the 6 miles and its good hear its getting easier to run. I can't until I can run 6 miles without my knees falling off.

Allyson - Running in circles does get kind of old after awhile, but its nice that your family can get outside for a little bit.

I guess I should get back to studying. Talk to everyone later.

Steve

Hey guys, I got no numbers to report as of yet today, yesterday I was busy studying and entertaining family members so I didnt get a chance to get out, so I set my alarm early and decided to do a quick morning run, well I managed to get out of bed, and I was trying to keep the dog from waking up the kid and I was looking for some clothes and I couldnt find any sock, at that point I decided it would be just easier to go back to bed, so I did and had a nice sleep for 1 1/2 hours. My punishment is now I am going to have to go out after work and it is HOT out but at least I got a little longer in bed :lmao:

Allyson: nice job on the laps, I can do about 2 circles and I get bored and stop, although if i was runnning with someone I, like you, would not be able to give up while they were still running :)

Steve - I bet you are soooooo excited about coming down here, I would be too excited to study :) to answer your question there isn't much I don't "have' to do when I am there, but something I did a while back that was awesome was the keys to the kingdom tour around MK, they take you in the tunnels, its pretty cool. I also discovered a few years ago that you can ride segways in EPCOT, you can either do the segway tour of EPCOT which is neat but pricey or you can go into innovations and have a go on them there, if you havent done it before its kinda neat. We also have to go for at least 2 different character buffets :) and last year when I turned 21 I had my hair done in the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and then went to 1900 park fare and danced with the prince, but that might be a little on the girly side for you :lmao: I LOVE the parades and the fireworks and have to see all of them when I go, (there is a new parade in MK although it is fairly similar to the old one but with new costumes and music, and a new one in DHS which opened like August last year which is pretty cool) also if you havent been on the new Toy story ride that is one not to miss, but you HAVE to get a fast pass at the beginning of the day, I havent yet seen the line under 90mins and fast passes run out before noon. Last year my parents bet us that you cant get a fast pass at the same time in 2 parks, so we got one at Splash, monerail to EPCOT and got one for Soarin, then back to MK for Splash and then back to EPCOT for Soarin, and it turns out you can get them at different parks even if you arent out of time yet, (and yes it was a pointless waste of time and energy but fun things like that keep us entertained after going to the world hundreds of time :lmao:)

Ok so I just went off on a huge tangent, but you have to do all the biggies, like Splash, Space ToT etc, then some silly ones like Its a small world, all the fireworks and parades. and then see what else you can find out, last time I went on vacation with my family, we found out info from Disney websites about little facts and then tried to find them around the park :)

Alright I have to go now, I tend to get just a little carried away when I talk about the world, hope I mentioned something that might make your trip more enjoyable (if that is possible:) )

Kirsty

Hey everyone.. I'm back from a LONG vacation! Didn't do as well as I would have liked for the bowling tournament, but it was super fun! Did lots of hiking in Yosemite too!!!

Catching up on the thread!

Kirsty - Up until about 5 months, my hair would have been long enough to go to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and I'm pretty sure I would have made a stunning Cinderella princess::rotfl2:. The segway tour of EPCOT would definately be right up my alley, but it is out of my price range. I'm pretty sure they have an "off-road" segway tour in Fort Wilderness too. I'll have to stop by innoventions and try to ride one there. My parents have done the Keys to the Kingdom tour and they really liked it. I used to work at MK a few years ago and I'd be interested to see how much of the tunnels they show guests compared to what I saw while I was there. I will probable try to see all of the fireworks and most of the parades. I usually try avoid Spectromagic just because I've seen it more times than I can count from working there (Oddly I still like Wishes though). I have been on Toy Story and I love it. I will definately be riding that atleast once, hopefully more. Now that you have me thinking, everytime I go to Disney World I always get a Dole Whip from adventureland. That is a must have everytime. I would like to try and hit some things that I haven't rode since I was about 4 yrs old like the Riverboats and Tom Sawyer Island. I know they aren't the most exciting rides, but I haven't seen them in like 20 years so I guess I'm due.

Suzann - Welcome back. Hiking in Yosemite sounds awesome. I love outdoor stuff like that. By the way, did you get those DVDs?

Ok, I'm going to get caught up on my sleep. Talk to everyone later.

Steve

Hey gang,....just popping in to say I am still alive and kicking and am going to try and catch up. Life has just been so busy and I just got back from a awesome cruise and time to kick up the training again.

Can someone refresh my oldtimers memory. How and what kind of hours, miles are we tracking??

Hey everyone :)

I just got in from an early morning run yay! I did 2 miles and they felt pretty good, I am considering a 5 mile race this weekend, it might give me a reminder of why I am running :)

Steve - Dole whip is a must, I have to do something kiddy everytime we go, on Christmas day the first thing we did (we were the first in the park :) ) was go on winnie the pooh ride, and a while back I tried Dumbo (my FAVE ride as a kid) only to discover that it now makes me motion sick! I didn't know about the fort wilderness segway thing, might give that a try someday :) I am very jealous that you got to work there, it was my childhood dream but not being an american makes it difficult :(

When are you going? I am going over on Sunday so if I see anything else that is a must I will let you know :)

PS I am sure you would have made a lovely cinderella :lmao: and even if your hair isn't long enough now if you go to cinderella's castle and ask for fairy dust, they have to give it you for free :)

Have a good day guys

Kirsty

Hi everyone. My milage is getting more consistant. I had two pretty weak months but this one will be different.
