Team Rebel Alliance Introduction

Ok I think I figured it out, this is pepper (I call her Pepsi!)

When she was a little younger

She only looks sweet and innocent!!!

Dressed like a prisoner at halloween!

She sleeps like a person!

kirsty

Wow, what are the odds of that. I have trouble meeting people who even know what a German Shorthair is, let alone having one. Moose won't turn one until July. I love shorthairs. They are great dogs. Moose likes to sleep like a person too. He will lay on his back, wedged between me and the back of the couch that I'm laying on.

I know people always ask me if she is a dalmation, lab cross, one person asked me is she was a great dane???? I'm like no:confused: Pepsi likes to destroy everything, she particulaly likes socks and will eat them whole then throw them up, she is so much trouble but I love her

kirsty

Aww that's so sweet! You guys' dogs are too cute!!!!!

Yesterday I did 30 minutes with Jillian... that was a great workout!!!

How is everyone else doing?

Hey team,
I just finished my Yoga X workout. Tomorrow I have Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X. Hopefully I can get those done tomorrow night. Tonight I'm leaving for Cleveland to hit some of the bars and then an Indians game tomorrow. I plan on doing my workout after the game.

Suzann - whats the Jillian thing you guys keep talking about. Ive never heard of hit.

Kirsty - Give Pepper a scratch on noggen for me. And I usually get, "Is that some kind of weird lab mix?"

Talk to you guys in a few days. Go Tribe!

Steve~ Have a great time at the game!!!

The Jillian thing is her DVD called Jillian Michaels 30 day shred... its a 30 minute workout (with warm up and cool down) She does a 3 minute strength, 2 minute cardio, 1 minute abs and then repeat... There's easy, intermediate and advanced (not the movements, but separate workouts on the dvd)

hey guys, just got back in from a run, and it was one of "those" runs:scared: you know when absolutely nothing goes right and you think maybe I should have bought one of those medical ID things they had at that expo because I might just actually die if I take one more step! Yeah so it was one of those runs, it was partly my fault, we had NO food in the house and by no I mean we had a pepper and an avacado in the refridgerator, and a piece of garlic and a tin of beans in the pantry, so as my employer set off to the grocery store I decided it would be too hot if I waited till they got back home and then ate, and I volunteer on Sat afternoon/evenings so I probably wouldnt get a run in if I didn't go right then, so I drank some Gatorade ate a few tums (to counteract the growling acid in my belly) and set of to do the 6 mile run I had been planning all week, I wanted to run 3 walk 1 run 1 and walk the last 1, well about 3 steps into it :rotfl2: my legs dont work, my nose is stuffy my throat feels like its closing up, I am hot and I have a stitch! I managed a mile before I had to stop and die a little :rotfl: then I just ran when I could and stopped when I couldn't. I managed 4.6 miles, not what I wanted but I was proud of myself for not giving up and going home after mile 0.1! :woohoo: OK so next time I will eat before I run, which is probably better for me than starving myself during then getting back and devouring everything that was bought at the store!

So now I am back home with a very sore knee and a belly ache, but I keep telling myself that by Jan I will look back and laugh at the day I couldnt run 6 miles :confused3 right

Steve - Pepper enjoyed her scratch on the noggin thanks and hope the game is good :cheer2:

Everyone else - I hope you had a better running day than I did, Have a good Easter

Kirsty

Hey Team,
I'm back from Cleveland and, other than the Indains being 0-5, it was a good weekend. I didn't get my workout in last night because I was exhausted. There were four of us on the trip and to save money, we got a hotel with one full size bed. So friday night there were four of us laying shortways across the bed. So i didn't get much sleep that night and when I got back yesterday I went straight to bed and didn't get up until this morning.

The game was fun even though the tribe lost. It ended up only being a high of 44 (much colder in the shade) so it was a cold game. Luckily it was scarf day so everyone got a free Indians scarf and that came in handy.

Kirsty - I know exactly what youre talking about when you say one of "those" runs. Pretty impressive that you fought through it for 4.6 miles. You're a better runner than I.

I going to try to get yesterdays and todays workouts in, but i might only be able to manage one. Ill post later today.

Hey Team Alliance! Just wanted to come by and wish everyone a Happy Easter! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Bryan:cheer2::yay:

hey team,

I ache today, after my run I went volunteering and then after that I came back and painted the house for 4 hours, and now I am off to finish painting some more, its a good arm work out but mine fell kinda like lead today :)

I just got back in from a short 2 miler, just wanted to get in a couple of miles before easter breakfast and devouring all the chocolate the easter bunny brought me :) I took the dog but she was not being very helpful she kept trying to chase birds and triping me up, but oh well I was able to keep up a 10min mile for the most part. I guess it just wasn't my weekend to run :(

Steve - I have so been there trying to save money with one room, it doesnt make sleeping easy :) the only way I could make it through 4.6 miles is because I am just really damn stubborn :) by the end I looked like a 3 legged octopus out of water :) good luck with todays training

Happy Easter everyone, don't eat too much candy ;)

Ok cant procastenate any more, going to go paint the house :(

Kirsty

Whats up Rebels,
I just finished Kenpo X. I must be getting in shape because this round wasn't to bad. I think I'm im going to skip Legs & Back this week. I developed a small cut on the bottom of my left foot and I dont think doing further leg workouts today would help. I am going to do the Ab Ripper X workout tonight though. This week I'm going to replace plyo with running to better prepare for races and then next is my recovery week. Only 76 more days in my program.

:stitch: 'OHANA MONDAY MIXER :stitch:

The mixer starts HERE on the thread.

A spring chick told me that many of us gave up goodies for Lent. Now that Lent has ended, Monday is a good time for this mixer question:

What is one healthy food you always have in your kitchen? What is one less-than-healthy food you always have in your kitchen?

Feel free to post pictures, talk about how the foods help you in your training (either as nutrition or reward), and confess to guilty pleasures and happy indulgences!

Good morning, fellow Rebels.

After two weeks of being lazy, I hope I am back on track today. I've got the food journal at the ready and a workout schedule planned out. I even brought my workout clothes with me so I wouldn't have to go home first. I've learned that if I go home after work, the only reason I'll go back out is to eat out! So, I'm ready...

Of course, someone just walked by and told me there is a cookie cake in the kitchen. That just happens to be one of my favorites... :scared:

Steve~ Its hard to sleep when the bed is that crowded LOL! And you're rocking on the workouts! Can't wait to start them!!!

Kirsty~ Laughing about the three legged Octopus comment... its SO true! (at least I feel like it sometimes) And you're the 'good' kind of sore, right?

Andrea~ You can DO IT! (Be like Nike, just do it) :)

Ok, so I went on a 38 mile bicycle ride on Saturday... crashed within the first mile! UGH! Stopped at the local store, got some bandaids and finished the rest of the ride! Such a trooper (ha!) Yesterday I had bowling practice.

OK so I spent like 10 hours painting the house yesterday, and we finally got it all done :) at 10PM and decided to celebrate with Pizza and beer (and then a really bad heartburn!) and now I hurt, everywhere, like I just ran a 1/2 marathon again, it even hurts typing in this message because my hand is stuck in a roller holding shape :scared1: So I am congratulating myself on re painting the entire house in one weekend (and getting in 2 runs and volunteering) by giving myself one or two days off, mainly because I could not run 2 steps one after the other if my life depended on it right now. So I am going to relax, regroup and eat candy :cool1:

Suzann - -Wow you are a trouper, my dad is a serious cyclist and I used to go out with him on the bikes a lot when I was younger, even competed a little and he used to make me get back on and go even after I had been catapulted over a wall! (no seriously that actually happened :rotfl2: ) so I know how it feels to carry on in pain, so go you  I am very impressed! And yes it is a 'good' kind of sore but only just! it only hurts if I move or breathe or think, so its all good :rotfl2: And I hope I dont have to be the three legged octopus for long, its not my best look ;)

Steve - how do you manage to fit all of those workouts in? its pretty impressive, I am not really cut out for lots of excercise a quick run here and there is about all I can handle :woohoo:

Disney Mommy - Be strong!!!! I am sure the cake doesnt taste that good anyway :rotfl: well it might not :confused3 I know just what you mean about the going home, the couch is so much more appealing than excercise, I work at home so I struggle with this a lot :) good luck

Everyone else I hope you had a good Easter and didn't eat as much as I did :sad2:

Alright the kid finally went down for a nap, my turn now :)

Kirsty

Hey Team,
Today is my recovery day so nothing good to post. I weighed myself this morning after two weeks of P90X and I actually gained a couple pounds. I am going to assume its all muscle even though it doesn't look like it yet.

Suzann - 38 miles is quite a trek, especially after taking a spill so early. I'm impressed. You might just motivate me to take my bike out for a spin this week.

Kirsty - Congrats on finishing the painting. You deserve a few days off. And it always hurts when I think, but not because of soreness :headache:. I never was really big on all this exercising, but this P90X thing has got me hooked.

Andrea - I say go for the cookie cake. You will need the carbs for all the training you'll do after work, right? Atleast thats how I would justify it.

Ok team, thats all i have for now. Good luck to everyone in their training.

Disney Mommy - Be strong!!!! I am sure the cake doesnt taste that good anyway :rotfl: well it might not :confused3

Oh, Kirsty, you were so wrong! I decided to follow Steve's advice (is anyone here surprised?) and used it for fuel for my workout that is 6 hours from now... It was so yummy!

I know just what you mean about the going home, the couch is so much more appealing than excercise, I work at home so I struggle with this a lot :) good luck

The couch, she calls to me like a siren! I have no power to resist it. Better to just stay out of the whole neighborhood. Sometimes it calls me on the phone on the way to the Y and I have no choice but to follow the call home.

Everyone else I hope you had a good Easter and didn't eat as much as I did :sad2:

I ate a bunch, but it was all veggies. That's good, right? Green beans (in a yummy casserole), sweet potatoes (with butter and brown sugar), mashed potatoes (with butter and salt), hard boiled eggs (cut in half and stuffed by the devil)...

Andrea - I say go for the cookie cake. You will need the carbs for all the training you'll do after work, right? Atleast thats how I would justify it.

Excellent advice, Steve! The whole time I'm at the Y, I'll be thanking my lucky stars I ate that cookie cake... Right? :rolleyes1

Hey Rebels, the only thing I have to report today is a great nap, the kid slept for like 3 hours :) good times :rotfl:

Andrea - you made the right desicion, even I wouldn't have listened to my own advice, :rotfl2: Steve gives much better advice, glad the cake was good, have fun at the Y burning it off, I am sure those carbs helped with the training :) I know the couch she is a temptress. And don't even get me started on that TV we have sitting in front of it, and with good treats laying around its a wonder I am not 1000lbs :rotfl: That easter meal sounds healthy enough to me, well done all I all day was chocolate, jelly beans and pizza, (no way I can make that sound healthy)

Steve - I am sure the extra weight is muscle :) and good advice for Andrea lol

OK guys got to go get my dinner now, Pork and corn mmmm

speak soon

Kirsty

Kirsty.... laughing about the nap! I'm so jealous!

Andrea... I would say the cookie cake was an excellent choice ;)

Steve.. its totally muscle! Are you trying to lose weight as well though?

I did an hour long spin class last night... the instructor was way better than my normal morning one!

Whats up guys,
I just finished Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X. I wasn't really on my game today like I was in previous workouts. I'm trying to cut back on the amount of coffee I drink in the morning (it was a lot) and I'm dragging pretty bad today. So hopefully after a few days of only one cup in the morning , I'll be back to normal.

Suzann - Yeah I would like to shed a few pounds, but if I'm replacing it with muscle right away then im ok with that. I really don't care about the number on the scale.

I would have liked to get a short run in today, but its cold and rainy... ok and i'm having caffine withdrawl.
