Just popping in, a lame attempt to keep up.
Randomly:
Hugs to the kids, Allie. And to you for taking care of them.
Welcome back, Jeanne! So good to find you here--determined, busy, and planning a great, fun, and memorable Wine & Dine event. Between that and all the weddings--and the oh so important receptions--you'll be doing lots of celebrating. P.S. I hope you and the Greek end up on the W&D team.
And in terms of 'Ohana, well, you know that you'll always be the Big Kahuna to me!
Richard: Great medal display--very inspiring, I'm sure. Your DDs both have good heads on their shoulders. It must be a delight to watch them grow up (if also a bit anxiety-producing). I also think it's wonder that DW is looking forward to some empty nesting. Good times ahead.
John: I do trail run when I'm not in the middle of training for longer distance, especially as I know it's good for the knees. (I run a lot on sidewalks and, in decent weather, asphalt.) Any suggestions on incorporating in into a training plan. Easy day? Shorter distance? Now that I think about it, there might be something in RW about that...
Jackie: SO sorry to hear about the break-in at your work. You don't need the extra stress. Go see a movie for relief.
I hear Leap Year is pretty good, if you like rom coms. Amy Adams is charismatic, anyway. Be careful out there with the snow--too easy to twist an ankle!
AFM: Not much--worked out some, writing some, working with a former student on his writing "career." (Apparently, his major goal is to get paid to write about video games. And by that I mean he really just wants to play them.)
Oh, and I'm planning my Superbowl meal. Jambalaya. Very hard for me to make, seeing as I'm a vegetarian & don't taste the fare. On the other hand, it's good for my diet.
Randomly:
- Have you all heard how DOOD and I lost our car after the 1/2? We were freezing cold and miserable. Aloha Jeff laughed his fanny off.
- Can you think of anything more romantic than running a virtual race on Valentine's Day? Anything PG, anyway?
- You half fanatics...you're ones to watch. Not sure about chasing you, though.
- That is not the Eurydice I know.

- I also like White Stripes for running. Man, I think I might have multiple personality disorder when it comes to running music. (With no offense meant to true MPD individuals.)
- All candy is dangerous in the wrong hands. Like mine.

I like the pic of you and Dug. And congrats on your continuous running! I'm glad there are other run/walk/jog folks out there.
She's in good spirits about it, the frustrating thing is DH and I figuring out who is staying home from work. We're both happy to stay home with her, but taking time off work is problematic right now.
). Now Cadbury I could wallow in...and it's almost Cadbury Mini Egg season!
I hope your foot feels better.
We were debating running with the BOTS but waited too long and the race closed (the story of my life) We will be at Wine and Dine in Oct. Still debating the 5K with the forced Not So Scary ticket that we won't be able to use but we will be doing the half.
My DD6 has a lovely cough and sniffle but was able to make it to school today, we'll see how she does.
I might actually get to run with my group on Saturday. There may be a few flurries, but a run is a run, especially with a half next weekend. And I may abandon the consecutive 6 month idea - I mean, is it REALLY that important to be a Uranus instead of a Neptune? Like Mel said, no one really wants to be a Uranus.
There is a Jupiter the weekend of Tobacco Road...
I'll stick to my Mr. Goodbar anyday.
I think trail running is good on any day, but hard days especially. Tempo runs and fast pace runs are hard, so I like doing them on trails when I can. Easy days and short days are easy, so they seem better suited to pavement. That's what I think, anyway. Your mileage may vary, if you'll excuse the pun.
