Hi, gang...
Just wanted to pop in with a couple of words of advice I have taken to heart:
For general life, I was told when I was 16 years old, while buying candy at the local drugstore and feeling like a little kid, "Never grow up" by the old lady working the register. That has stuck with me for 30 years now...and it pays off when people think I'm 10 years younger than I am (that, and the exercise thing).
For endurance events, one of the best pieces of advice my coach has given me is: "When you feel bad, Eat." So true...sometimes being down on calorie intake in a long effort (over 2 hours) is enough to make you cranky, not perform well, etc. A gel is a good idea at that time.
Happy training!!
