Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Congratulations 6Smiles!! I love that we're four weeks in and showing such awesome participation and numbers. It's really motivating, personally. :)

QOTD Tuesday- As January comes to a close, I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can walk around my great little town again!
So, what is you favorite form of exercise? DO you like to exercise with others or on your own?

I usually prefer exercising on my own, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really like my Jillian Michael Ripped in 30 DVD. I'm on week 2, so ask me again in a couple of weeks...but the circuits move quickly enough that I feel like I get a lot done in a little amount of time. And that I can do just about anything for 30-60 seconds!

I also like our stationary bike. It's a good quality piece of machinery, and I feel like I'm getting my money's worth out of it - I like to ride some pretty tough cycles while I'm watching things on the DVR. Keeps me from getting too far behind!

I do like the occasional Zumba class - I'm not coordinated, but I enjoy it when I do it! Just hard to get out of the house on a Monday night for the one class that works with my schedule, and I haven't been in a while.

When the weather warms up, I'm going to start getting out on my real bike, which is new to me last year and the first bike I've owned since I was in high school. ! I need to get my confidence back, but we have good trails around here, and I'll start slow in the neighborhood. I'm also planning to try running for the first time *ever* using a C25K program that came recommended here. I'd be as surprised as anyone to find I like it, but I think I need to give it a fair shot - it would be a great way to get some consistent outdoor activity, and it's cheap!

XO
Liz

Definitely riding my bike. I enjoy walking more when it's with someone.

QOTD: Going to have a random one and one food one!
What is your favorite tv show? What is the best movie you have seen lately?
What's on your meal plan for the day?

I don't really have a favorite tv show right now. We cut off our cable to save some money so we currently have no television. I do enjoy the History Channel, HGTV and the Food Network when we do have tv.

The only movies I have seen lately are our videos we own...again saving money. SO lots of Disney movies have been watched lately. I guess my favorite I've seen lately (on video) is "Letters to Juliet" and "Sound of Music".

My meal plan for today is/was:
Breakfast: Egg Sandwich - scrambled egg, slice of cheese and 2 pieces toast
Lunch: Leftovers from dinner last night at Tepenyaki - Steak, Veggies and 1/2 cup fried rice
Dinner: Meatloaf (1 piece), Mashed Potatoes (1/2 cup) & broccoli or peas (not sure which yet.

So, what is you favorite form of exercise? DO you like to exercise with others or on your own?

My favorite form of exercise is non..LOL! Exercise is so not fun to me. My current exercise right now is using our elliptical everyday while reading a book on my IPad. If I can read, that makes any exercise bearable. I just tell myself I cannot read unless I'm using the elliptical ;)

Right now I prefer to do it alone. Who knows if that will change

QOTD Tuesday- As January comes to a close, I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can walk around my great little town again!
So, what is you favorite form of exercise? DO you like to exercise with others or on your own?

I am looking forward to being able to go for walks outdoors. I generally hate most exercise and get bored easily but I do enjoy going for long walks either with the family for company or listening to my ipod if I am on my own.

Good morning wishers. QOTD?

I do admit I love exercise.

I love walking my dogs in the park with my dd which is free but I am looking into finding a place to take step classes. I love taking classes. There is a ZUMBA place right near me. I might actually join up. I have to see how much.

I wish I had the $ for the Y but I am waiting on our new community center to be built. So until then I have to seek out exercise elsewhere.

Evening ::MickeyMo

I'll catch up on the post later. I wanted to let everyone know how my weekend went.

Long story short I had a widow friend and her fiance come spend the weekend with me at Disney. Well, in the whopping 3 days she was there I only saw her LITERALLY 5 hours. Friday, the 4 year anniversary of my husband and daughter's death I only saw her an HOUR and all she said about the subject was, "Oh how are you doing?". Then she up and leaves a day early and I find out through a text?!?! Yeah so needless to say I deleted her out of my phone and blocked her email. To say I'm hurt is an understatement, I'm p*ssed! The only reason she came out was so she can spend time with her fiance and totally avoid me. I basically got used.

Irregardless of that nightmare I still enjoyed my time with Alan. However, I will NEVER stay at Pop Century or any value resort ever again. Now, I understand people stay where they can afford. I only stayed there because I got an awesome rate with my AP. However, with that being said: The beds were rock hard (pillows weren't any better). I woke up with my whole body hurting. There was no coffee pot in the room (Alan's gripe, not mine. I don't drink it). We had no cell phone signal in our room. We were suppose to stay tonight but we are both in so much pain from the beds we checked out early.

The plus sides: The atmosphere and food court were awesome! I liked having the resort on its own bus with no other resort.

My best friend and I are staying at CSR in May for a week. I'm hoping I like it a lot better. I've read a lot of good reviews on the Disboards about it. I told Alan if we ever pay for a room again at Disney more then likely it'll be a moderate (if I find one I like). If not then we'll only stay with our DVC points (when we have them).

Friday, we got to MK first thing in the morning and rode most of the rides we wanted to. We found a good spot for the 3pm parade and then aftewards did some shopping. I bought my first Dooney and Burke purse and I LOVE it! I told Alan it was my "cheer myself up" present considering what the day was.

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. I can't wait to get on the scale tomorrow and see what type of damage I did .

UGH what a inconsiderate "friend"! Sorry you had to experience that especially at a time when you needed the most support. I'm glad Alan and you managed to have a good time. I agree with you the Values are very uncomfortable, although I would like to try AoA one day. We stayed at CSR last year and it was our 1st time staying at a Mod, up from value and we like it. There is a coffeepot in the room so Alan can rest easy! ;) The beds are good the pillows are a bit soft for my taste but not horrible. CSR is a beautiful resort I hope you enjoy it!

Morning Fellow Losers-

QOTD: Going to have a random one and one food one!
What is your favorite tv show? What is the best movie you have seen lately?
What's on your meal plan for the day?

Fav. TV Show: True Blood, Grey's and Biggest Loser. I end up watching a lot of old TV because of my crazy schedule.

Fav. Movie: The last movie I saw was Breaking Dawn! I really want to go see the Vow, and One of the Money. My favorite movie of all time: The Princess Bride, Beauty and the Beast, and The Notebook.

That's why I'm afraid to see it! ;) Plus, I like the Ranger in my mind!

:rotfl: Agreed! Except I like the Morelli in my mind. Also I can't really buy Katherine Hiegel as Stephanie... I would have expected someone a little more I don't tougher... I was thought Marissa Tomei would have been an excellent Stephanie (although she maybe too old) :confused3

QOTD Tuesday- As January comes to a close, I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can walk around my great little town again!
So, what is you favorite form of exercise? DO you like to exercise with others or on your own?

I don't mind working out with gym buddy, but overall I like to work out on my own. I don't really care for fitness class. My favorite form of exercise is toning exercises like weights, push ups, and planking to name a few. I like these more than cardio because I feel like I'm pushing myself.

AOTD: I don't really have a favorite form of exercise, but I really love my Just Dance on the Wii, so it makes the moving fun! I like doing this with others. But if I am in the gym and treadmill happy, I would rather it just be me and my ipod!

Sorry I haven't checked in in a few days. Congratulations everyone on your amazing breakthroughs and losses. And congratulations everyone for keep on keeping on.

I am still at Disneyland! :) I PR'd at the Inaugural Tinker Bell Half Marathon (3:19:32) = it was a 27 second PR, but here's the amazing part: I RAN THE WHOLE THING! It was my 7th half marathon in 19 months, but only the first time I have ran the whole thing. Mostly before I was a walker. Now I feel like a runner!

My husband and I did the 5K as well. That was super fun, going through the parks and backstage areas as well.

Off to Disneyland today (doing the "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour to start the day off then in the park until 8:00.

Have a great day everyone!!:cool1::thumbsup2

QOTD -- incredibly it's like lower 60's here in central ohio today! any remnant of snow is gone today. not very sunny yet though. my foundation workout program is my powerwalking and MFM half-marathon training schedule. i'm not there anymore now though sadly. what i 'like' the most is yoga --

Also I can't really buy Katherine Hiegel as Stephanie... I would have expected someone a little more I don't tougher... I was thought Marissa Tomei would have been an excellent Stephanie (although she maybe too old) :confused3

YES! she would've been much better for Stephanie!

Hey ::MickeyMo

I hope everyone's day went okay. I woke up late this morning but was glad that it was before noon. I finished getting the pantry, fridges, and freezers inventoried and started maing a meal plan for February and a grocery list. I need to finish the grocery list tonight so we can go tomorrow. I got 38 minutes in on the treadmill. I did a programmed routine that was on the treadmill and burned about 195 calories, not to shabby. I need to do a short Sparkpeople video to hit my 1200 minutes of fitness.

My mom will be here Monday for a undetermined amount of time. I'm excited to see her.

Tomorrow will be busy grocery shopping. Then this weekend I'll be doing more batch cooking. I still have to figure out what all I'm going to make.

QOTD Tuesday- As January comes to a close, I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can walk around my great little town again!
So, what is you favorite form of exercise? DO you like to exercise with others or on your own?

I like to change things up. Depending on my mood/weather will determine my exercise for the day. Right now I'm loving my Biggest Loser kiect game. I also like working out alone. I don't feel comfortable working out in front of others

Hi everyone,
Last night was my "I'd like to punch the DIS" night. It's tax season, so I keep my Monday nights open to post results, only last night the DIS was less than cooperative. I would hit preview and just get a swirly thing. Then I would get an error, hit the back button, forward button, log in, log out, even leave for an hour and come back and nothing. I was less than thrilled and couldn't even access to see what posted on which thread or not. So, I technically should be doing taxes right now, but I am committed (or will need to be comitted if the DIS acts up again on a Monday night when it's posting time :rotfl:) to getting the results up.

So, here is the correct one for Team Mickey. Part 2 for Mickey will be right up and Part 3 for both teams will be right after that.

Sorry for the delay :goodvibes

Biggest Loser Fall Challenge Week 4!
This week’s group loss = 31.3 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.45 %
Total group weight loss so far 250.6 pounds!

AWESOME!

Retention Rate (compared to the 72 participants we had sign up for our start week on January 1st)
56% (this includes the Losers, Maintainers and Excused people!). Let's keep sending those weights people!

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 4?

WOOHOO!!! It's going to be in the mid 50s here tomorrow! I am definitely going to take an outdoor walk! Hoping to walk most of the morning. Hoping to have some people join me!

Wednesday QOTD: Are you going to watch the Super Bowl? If so, or if not (this could relate to any party atmosphere), what can you do to make sure you don't over do it with food and drink?
Also, who are you rooting for, if you care?:cool1:

Definitely watching the Super Bowl. Not sure if we are going to someone's house or not. Depends on how the rest of the day goes. I plan on having my Herbalife shake for breakfast and lots of water during the day. We are going to a local pub for lunch with some friends so I will have to figure out what's best to have. I'm going to really try and behave on Saturday with food and drink. No real plans on Saturday as we have basketball so food shouldn't be a problem.

And I am totally for the NE Patriots!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Making chicken teriyaki in the crock pot tomorrow. Will have it over rice or egg noodles. Thursday will just be frozen pizzas. Friday I am planning on making clam chowder in the crock pot.

Watching BL. My upper back is aching so I'm just going to wait until tomorrow to workout. Planning on getting a big long walk in tomorrow so that will hopefully motivate me to get off my tush. I hope to also try my BL Kinect game finally tomorrow.

TTFN :tigger:

NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!!!

NOTE: This list includes participants who have reported in within the last 3 weeks, once someone misses 3 weigh-ins they are dropped from this report.

How this works: You set your goal for what you want to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal.

Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) – all you have to do is send me a PM.

Since the goals are an individual thing, the list is just in alphabetical order to make it easier for everybody to find their own name. If there are any questions or suggestions please let me know.

We have done 4 out of 21 weeks, so the challenge is 19% complete.

Way to go team Mickey. somehow I managed to lose weight this week despite beign on the road, so that was the good boost I needed to get back on track.

This week has been tough and it's going to get tougher. We were told after school today that one of our student's died unexpectedly. The students are goign to be informed tomorrow. The student had ben in the school for multiple years and so was known by many teachers. He was part of a very tight knit group of students in special ed and it's going to be very tough on them. I didnt know how him well, so it isn't affecting me nearly as much as some of the other teachers, but I'm worried about how things will go tomorrow, and I can't imagine what those poor parents must be going through.

Wednesday QOTD: Are you going to watch the Super Bowl? If so, or if not (this could relate to any party atmosphere), what can you do to make sure you don't over do it with food and drink?
Also, who are you rooting for, if you care?

We will NOT be watching the Superbowl. Neither of us are big football fans. We're going to be doing finger food that day though because I don't feel like doing any heavy cooking. I'm thinking something light for breakfast, Subway for lunch, and then just light snacks for dinner (cheese and crackers, veggies with dip and/or peanut butter).

If I had to choose a team: NEW ENGLAND :)

Well, I didn't get my list finished so I'll get it done tomorrow morning. Meals are planned through Monday when my mom gets here so I'll have a starting point if I slack and put grocery shopping off a few days. However it HAS to be done because well we don't have enough food in the house to feed my mom in addition to us.

I'm having a really hard time getting the meal plan made for the month. I'm having writer's block if you wanna call it that . I want to try to change things up and not keep eating the same things. I'm hoping my mom is okay with all the meals I make. I'm sure she won't care but I've done really good with eating healthy and keeping the junk out of the house. Although I did make a chocolate cake tonight .

I did my BL Kinect challenge tonight and entered my weight. I couldn't remember what the last weight was that I entered. I was shocked that I have lost 2 pounds since that last weigh in. :scared1: <--- my shocked face :)

I don't know if I posted this or not but this is the fitness routine I came up with for February:

BL Kinect (50 minutes): Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Monday

30 Day Shred: Every day

Mileage: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday

OFF DAY: Saturday
