Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Hi everyone! Well today is weigh in day. down another 1/2 pound. Could it be any slower?!?! I've been good with the treadmil though, but this morning my feet felt soooo heavy. I made myself run the first mile then I alternated run/walk every quarter mile until I got to 2 miles. It was torture though! I hope I can lose this coming week I'm already dreading the food portion. Dinner with some girlfriends at a winery (I don't care for wine, but pasta...oh boy!) and then the next night I got free tickets through work for a Iron Chef type event. Which I'm not exactly sure what that means but I know there will be alot of food to sample and we get to judge on something. Ugh. MODERATION that's my word of the week! I think I've finally made up my mind to give up the McDonald's egg mcmuffins. I was down to twice a week roughly but I went today and they raised the price again! Now an egg mcmuffin costs $3.20!! That's insane don't you think? I'm done. I actually have enjoyed sitting with my DH and DD and eating breakfast in the morning with them anyway, it's nice family time (well except for the part where DD dumps her cup of Cheerios on her tray and I have to clean all the crumbs up!) but I still enjoy it! Have a great weekend Team Mickey!:goodvibes

Congrats on the loss!
I'm up half a pound and I'd much rather be down half a pound, so at least I can try again for the other direction next week!
Off to get diligent about the exercise and logging!
:surfweb::yay:

:wave2:

Fridays QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend? How will you incorporate your new healthy ways into the weekend? Make a goal for the weekend involving food and exercise!
No specific plans. I have our menu plan so that helps but haven't even thought of much past the next hour or so!

Have you tried making your own at home?

Weighed in and lost another 2lbs!!!

Good Luck to all. I am going to revel in my success
:cheer2: You deserve to revel!!! Just don't do it with food ;)

Sending a HUGE  and extra load of pixiedust: to Disneybride2010 today. I am thinking of you.

I am down another pound, that makes a one pound loss every week so far. Slow and steady is fine with me. I would love to lose 2 or more a week but that isn't healthy at this point since I have been staying sort of OP for so long.

Kids are out of school and DD16 is off to the mall with a friend. DD11 tried to find a friend to get together with but everyone is busy so it looks like she and I are going out to lunch.:headache: I hope she chooses somewhere that I can find something op. She says she wants a "good" burger and fries. No idea yet what that means but I think she wants something other than fast food so that is good. I would do Red Robin but it is as the mall and I have to go out there later to pick up DD16 so going now would be a wasted trip.

I had my Lime Yogurt pie for breakfast this morning because I was too full last night! Another thing that makes it a great dessert--- it can also be a no guilt breakfast! But then I also had a cup of Fruit Loops :guilty: :rolleyes1 I need my kids to eat this darn box of cereal and get it out of my kitchen. This box was left from our Hurricane Emergency supplies in the fall and they ran out of their usual cereal and got this one out. Fruit Loops are one of my favorites. :headache:

My WATP video is in at Walmart so I hope to go and pick it up today.

Everyone have a great ON PLAN day!:cheer2: Send your weights in!

Fridays QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend? How will you incorporate your new healthy ways into the weekend? Make a goal for the weekend involving food and exercise!

TTFN :tigger:

It's a beautiful day today so I plan to run my 1 1/2 miles today. Tomorrow I have an hour long cardio video planned and Sunday will be another P90X weight training day. I tend to be hungrier on the weekends since I don't work on weekends but plan to stay busy with chores and a mountain of school work. We have a family birthday party tomorrow night but I'm no longer tempted with cake/ice cream, getting to my goal is much more important! These family members usually offer pretzels and fresh fruit as well so that will be my snack. Church on Sunday and more studying. I will be working on getting my water in and sticking to my calories as always. I am 8 pounds away from a healthy BMI and I hope to at least reach that before our Disney World trip if not my ultimate goal!! Good luck everybody! Hope you have a great week!!

QOTD: No big plans this weekend. It's a 3 day weekend for us as Monday is grading day for schools. I've just been looking at the the kids' grades online and don't think I'm too pleased with the youngest. Hope teachers are a bit behind in posting and the "real" grades are definitely better! Tonight is basketball games then nothing Saturday that I know of! Sunday is church and DS1 has choir practice that night. Monday is free, although I'm sure DSs will have a basketball practice since they have a game Tuesday. Threw a pork roast and a bottle of BBQ sauce in the crockpot so dinner is taken care of! Not sure when people will eat, so it'll be nice to have something they can just grab when ready either before or after the game.

No car today. DS1 was bummed because he had to be at school at 7:30 for a final (he doesn't have first period so normally is there at 8:24). But it was nice because he could take his brother. DH needed the car for a mid day meeting across town and that leaves me stuck at home alone! :cool1: My walking partner couldn't walk today so I slept in. It was glorious. Except TOM arrived and I'm not feeling so great. Had planned to run as soon as I got up but am using that and 32 degrees as my excuse to postpone it! ;) Will proably give it a couple more hours then bundle up and hit the pavement.

Good luck to all our runners this weekend. We are so proud of you!!!

Well-- down 2 pounds today. That's good I guess but I feel like it is simply a maintain because of my fun up and down with the scales last week. I did about 5 minutes of research last night because I was craving something salty so bad and found out that duh-- you crave salt more when you sweat, which I've been doing a lot, and the obvious solution is more water. I feel like such a nut drinking so much water but obviously everyone here is doing it and we're all relatively sane right? I know so many people who don't drink water at all....and with the drinking i'm going to need more than the rest of ya too so-- well-- now I know what to do.

i already kind of gamboled on losing and went to see Hugo last night. I could have waited until Sunday. I've decided that with each pound I lose I will treat myself to a movie. Not just one for the weeks loss like last time. So I'll rent something today.
Bike ride was fantastic--I didn't realize they had finished the other side of the river so was able to ride quite a ways down and up the other side. The river is really full and flooded one of our parks.
I got a new suit at Costco--it was only $21 and there was a plain black one with a built in bra that seems all right--I'll try it out today.
Think I'll try to have some kind of big fruit salad every week to eat off of-- I really like it and it's a good way to use up fruit. I dreamed about eating pineapple last night lol.

Quotd:
Well I work at a grocery store so my weekend days were tues and thursday this week. Usually I do have 2 days off anyway. I do notice I don't lose on days I don't work mostly because my job is so active I guess. I do work out on those days though-- it's pretty rare if I don't.
Well I guess I'll get to picking movies...

Popping on for a few minutes! Heading out again in 30 minutes and then home for about 20 minutes and then back to school again for Winterfest. Ended up doing 2 chair massages today.

I guess I should answer my QOTD!

QOTD: Well, tonight is Winterfest. Ash's BFF is sleeping over. We may go and get our passport photos taken in the morning before basketball. I will take Izzie to basketball and then go to Ash's game and then take her BFF home. Then we have to stop at the toy store to get a gift for Izzie's friend's party tomorrow at 2. Sunday is church and then Izzie has Daisies and then my DSIL is coming over so we can celebrate her birthday. Gotta pick up steak tips at some point to have for dinner on Sunday.

Going to try and have shakes for 2 meals tomorrow. I ended up having a salad and a grilled chicken and eggplant rollup with mozzarella and pesto for lunch. I will try and just have 1 piece of pizza tonight or 2 at t he most. I will be running around all evening at Winterfest so that should help me out with having the pizza. I will also try and stick to 2 shakes on Sunday and just enjoy the steak. I will treat myself to a small drink each evening. Gotta be good next week so I can enjoy food during the Super Bowl! Going to make home made stuff!

TTFN :tigger:

Hi everyone! Got in 30 minutes of Jillian Michaels torture this morning. Work is bananas and probably will be for the next few weeks. I think I need to commit to getting to bed earlier and getting up earlier so I can get my full workout in before I launch into the workday. I'm going to bed way too late now, and that's making mornings so much harder. It's just so hard to stop at night when there's so much to do!

Fridays QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend? How will you incorporate your new healthy ways into the weekend? Make a goal for the weekend involving food and exercise!

Well, I'm planning to get some exercise in, for sure, but I'm hoping this will be a big movie weekend for me as I work on my Oscars list. :) DH and I are seeing one tomorrow night, and I might sneak out for a double feature in the morning at our local place - they have a bunch that are on my list! But my movie snacks are just Diet Coke - avoiding the popcorn, which is a big trigger food for me! I may sneak some fruit in with me in case of extreme hunger...

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

XO

omg i totally forgot to WI this morning!!

:thanks: tigger813 for coaching us this week!

I was able to get onto the Dis and it was moving fast enough to reply! I am going to start by catching up with when Maria was coaching.

I weighed in today - despite last night's big dinner out - and I was down 0.6! I know if I'd weighed in yesterday, it would have been more than that, but I'm still pleased that I had a good enough week to weigh in the day after an enormous meal and still come away with a slight loss. It's what I was expecting and hoping, and I can't complain. Onward! :woohoo:

:dance3::dance3::dance3:

you'll appreciate the term used for less than stellar endos on the Cushing's board I go too...endiots :teeth:

You two are making me wonder about what I’m getting myself into by finding an endo. I keep debating it, but know that I need one. :rotfl2:

When they thought I had Meniere’s disease, I learned a term I thought was hysterical. You have ear, nose, and throat specialists (ENTs), otologists-ear specialists, and neurotologists-inner ear specialists. People with Meniere’s disease see a neurotologist, which is shortened to neuroT. For someone reason, I always pictured the 2 letters “ic” after it. Now, if I only looked at inner ears all day (which you can’t just see), I might be too. :rotfl:

(I’m not trying to be offensive. I know all about neurotic. My classmates in high school nominated me for class stress and announced to our psychology teacher that they have a “friend who is neurotic.” She asked why and they said, “she is. It’s obvious.” :rolleyes1

Friend of a Mouse: How are you feeling? How was your conference?

Linda: How is your knee? Congrats to DS! :yay:

I ran my fastest 5k yesterday after work, 38:34. It was one of those "wow this is pretty painless" runs, not the kind of run I feel like I'm wearing lead shoes!

:banana::banana::banana:

We're having a Cooking Light recipe tonight - a sausage and spinach risotto. I can't wait to try it!

How was it? :goodvibes

LTS: How are you feeling? Even better I hope? Hope the pies taste great!

That sounds wonderful, what a great family day -- and you were GF, which is the most crucial for you ::yes::

I'm glad you are getting some medical advice, we never know what might be going on with our bodies ::yes::

Shoveling is hard work! It stresses you in ways you don't even realize. :flower3:

Thank you for saying all of this! :)

Ok, I don't think I've ever heard of a doctor suggesting more caffeine, my dh would be doing a Happy Dance :dance3: Tea is a lovely way to get it in. I don't drink coffee, but I am extremely fond of tea :goodvibes

I know what you mean. I think what he was saying is that most people have caffeine and that that is entirely okay. I actually haven’t had any tea since our conversation and haven’t had any problems with too much sleep. I’m blaming the exercise. ;)

I did 2 miles on the treadmill walk/run in 30 minutes. Not happy with my time at all!!!!! But I burned off the caramel brulee treat plus a little extra. Tonight I will hit either kettle bells or WATP.

:yay::yay::yay:

 Kristina. So glad that you were willing to share with us. How are you doing today?

Had a pretty good day. Been looking for recipes most of the day. Wanted to post these links for CC and anyone else looking for Gluten Free. Not sure if you already know about them but I am going to try some of these, especially for the low carb/gf buns on this one: http://yourlighterside.com/

This one has a bunch of GF and veggie recipes: http://thejoyofcleaneating.com/

Thank you!

Truth Is...It's Thursday! ;) QOTD: Bippidy Boppidy Boo! :wizard: Your Fairy Godmother is feeling a little competitive with the TinkerBelle :tink: Half marathon approaching, and has decided to grant you an unprecedented THREE WISHES! Caveat: None of these wishes can change the past, they can only affect the future. The first wish is for you and you alone, the second is for your family, and the third is for your favorite Disney character to be featured in an attraction of your choice and design, at the Park of your choice! She’s warming up that magic wand pixiedust:, what are your wishes?

For myself, I wish to lose the weight in a way that I can successfully keep it off. For my family, I wish for greater understanding of each other. I’m not very creative with rides and such and I’m not sure who my favorite character is. Belle is right up there though. I love what everyone’s ideas! Great question!

I will have my laptop so may be popping in, especially in the hours before the race and as I rest up after the WISH meet. :tink:

Sending a maintain a day early. Have a great week-end! I will be thinking of you all and posting pictures when I can. :goodvibes

:woohoo: for the maintain! Can’t wait to hear all about your race and to see your beautiful medal! :goodvibes

i put on my sneakers and ran to CVS to pick up my prescription. it wound up being 26 min of running which isn't a ton but it was something :woohoo:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Awesome! My dh has the same issue with his shuffle. He never knows how long it will last. He's had that problem with the last two -- so much so we bought the newer one because the older one was unreliable :confused3 Anyway, great job getting out there!

Thanks Maria! :)

Wizards was the last show of my ds's generation -- so I don't know what they're running now, but I'm guessing one of the reasons for the dedicated preschool channel is the regular channel is just too snarky, and who wants to hear their 3-yr. old talking back like that? :confused3

I think it was hard for me to watch because I used to wake up before my mom and while my dad was getting ready for work and all he had to do was turn on the Disney Channel and I was fine. He never worried about what I watching as a preschooler. It’s amazing what we remember and what bugs us. :goodvibes

Thanks for explaining Susan. I understand you on the hair and being watched. How are you feeling today? :goodvibes

#1 -- I wish for consistency in my diet and exercise. With that, I can achieve my goals :goodvibes

#2 -- I wish for us to all think before we speak to each other. We are not rude or thoughtless people, but with a teenager in the house we push each other's buttons. I would like for us to stop and consider before we make comments.

# 3 -- My favorite Disney character is Belle, and one of my favorite current attractions is Soarin', so I would combine the two -- I would add a Belle-narrated Soarin' over France. I think that would be really fun and interesting, and they could also end at the Disney Park :lovestruc This would be located at DisneyWorld (Epcot is fine...), so I could get there often. But wait, I wouldn't stop there -- Belle would be the first character and location featured, but this Soarin' ride would have other options -- you could soar with Jasmin and Aladdin, Ariel, Pocohantas, a myriad of characters -- but Belle would be the original that started evolving the concept of Soarin'.

I love these Maria! :)

DH sent this to me, I figured I would share with the class.

Love this! :thumbsup2

I'd welcome the appearance of my fairy godmother!! My wish for myself is a little selfish - I want to be happy with my weight. It seems like I've always viewed myself as "fluffy" and looking back, that was true even when my weight was less than 120 lbs! (which it so seriously is not even close to right now...). I'd like to be fit, and strong, and be able to recognize that fact.
My second wish for my family: my husband's health and its effect on our family. My husband was in a very serious accident this summer and suffered a few skull fractures, TBI, punctured ear drum, lost 45% of his hearing and lost his night vision. Oh, and lost his job afterwards. I want him to be healthy and happily employed in a position that he loves (he's a teacher). The kids have been incredible troopers ever since this happened - I'd like all of us to be able to take a deep breath and not be waiting for the next shoe to drop! (That's not meant in a poor-me way. It hasn't been all bad. We're kind of rediscovered each other, as well as rediscovering what is important - being together as a family. We almost lost DH and we have such an appreciation of each other that I think was a little lost pre-accident in our super busy lives...)

I don’t think your wish is selfish at all. I commend you for sharing that with all of us! Thanks for sharing about DH.

Fridays QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend? How will you incorporate your new healthy ways into the weekend? Make a goal for the weekend involving food and exercise!

My mom and my BFF's moms bdays are this week so we are going to our favorite pizza place - Athens Pizza! Must not eat 5 slices!!!
Tonight is recruiting for small group at church. Tomorrow morning is gym, dinner and then going to see my friends band play. Sunday morning church and no other plans. If the weather is nice, I will see if the mom wants to take the dogs to the park for a walk.

Fridays QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend? How will you incorporate your new healthy ways into the weekend? Make a goal for the weekend involving food and exercise!

I’m not sure what the plan for the weekend is. It may or may not involve helping my sister and BIL with their new home. I would like to go to the gym at some point. Dinner tonight will be healthy and it looks like I’ll be cooking for most of the weekend, so I’m not too worried. But, then again, whenever I think I know what will happen, I get a surprise or too. :headache:

On the positive side, the Y has free childcare, so I've been going daily. On the negative, I'm super tired all the time and it's really tempting to snack a lot at night when I'm so tired.

:woohoo:fFor the exercise! Someone once suggested (Pamela maybe) having a veggie try available for when the munchies hit. I’ve done that before and have been glad I did. :goodvibes

:goodvibes for the Tink Melinda! :woohoo: for a great dinner!

Loving my BodyPump class as this week I managed to drag along my college roommate. We had some really nice conversation too.

:cool1:

I actually have enjoyed sitting with my DH and DD and eating breakfast in the morning with them anyway, it's nice family time (well except for the part where DD dumps her cup of Cheerios on her tray and I have to clean all the crumbs up!) but I still enjoy it! Have a great weekend Team Mickey!:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Glad you are enjoying family time! Hope you have a great weekend too! :goodvibes

Weighed in and lost another 2lbs!!! Wow. I am trying to lose 1/2lb week. It is probably cutting down soda, I think. That stuff is poison to my system. I am trying to quit it all together as it is really aggravating my reflux to the max.

:woohoo: Congrats!

Hi Rose!

Well, weighed in this morning and am down 1.4 pounds.

:yay: Congrats!

I'm up half a pound and I'd much rather be down half a pound, so at least I can try again for the other direction next week!

I think that’s great considering you were on your own with 2 young kids for 2 weeks! :goodvibes

I am down another pound, that makes a one pound loss every week so far. Slow and steady is fine with me.

:yay: I agree with losing slowly and steadily! :thumbsup2

We have a family birthday party tomorrow night but I'm no longer tempted with cake/ice cream, getting to my goal is much more important! These family members usually offer pretzels and fresh fruit as well so that will be my snack.

:thumbsup2

Linda: Hope you stayed warm today! :goodvibes

Well-- down 2 pounds today.

:yay: Congrats! Enjoy the movie!

Hi everyone! Got in 30 minutes of Jillian Michaels torture this morning.

:woohoo: and :goodvibes for work!

Evening all,

Fridays QOTD: What are your plans for the weekend? How will you incorporate your new healthy ways into the weekend? Make a goal for the weekend involving food and exercise!

TTFN :tigger:
I'm working on plans for the weekend. I am planning on going to a deployment ceremony in Syracuse (2.5 hours away) on Sunday so that leaves only Saturday. And Saturday is usually our "family" day - DH doesn't quibble about my gym time during the week but likes the Saturdays for "our" time. So need to think about this...

:wave2:

I am down another pound, that makes a one pound loss every week so far. Slow and steady is fine with me. I would love to lose 2 or more a week but that isn't healthy at this point since I have been staying sort of OP for so long.

I think 1 pound a week is fantastic. :cool1: I'm hoping that's what my progress will be (have to admit, haven't weighed in yet..heading up after I finish this post..)

Lisa - have a great time this weekend. We are all with you in spirit. Can't wait to see the great pictures and read the posts!

Melinda, have a fun time on your 5K!! You're going to do great!!

...okay off to weigh in. 'Night everyone!!
Jude

Hi Mickeys!

My keyboard is acting up so I apologize if what I write looks a little strange and/or doesn't make sense. :confused3

I have to vent. My father told me "no more food tonight." I was appalled. I couldn't believe he said that. I'm really . No, today wasn't perfect, but I didn't eat anything outrageous. I was plannng on making sugar-free, fat-free pudding to get another dairy serving in today. I'm

Moving on to something more important...replies! I missed being able to reply to all of you.

We like to have Sunday dinners. They rarely fit into my plan. I understand. :goodvibes

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL YOU LOSERS & MAINTAINERS! Team Mickey is rockin' this thing! :) :yay::woohoo:

Yes we are!!!!!!!!!!!

How was it? :goodvibes

The Cooking Light sausage & spinach risotto was *amazing.* I double-checked all the nutritionals because it tasted so much richer and creamier than I would have guessed by the stats and points! Definitely keeping that recipe, and I have half-serving leftovers in the fridge for the weekend. OM NOM NOM.

We went to a concert tonight with the girls, and there was a reception afterward. I had 7 points left on the day going in, and I had a half-glass of red wine, one little flat square of cheese (about 1/4 ounce, I think), and one Milano cookie. Two points left! I'm too tired to eat anything else at this point, though. I'm going to work on the new late-January resolution and go to bed early tonight! (Okay, I might read a chapter or two first...)

Evening all,

Home from Winterfest! Won 2 cakes during the cake walk but NO BASKETS:( in the raffle. We did sell $1200 worth of books at the Usborne Books booth! So excited since all the proceeds go back to the school! The teachers are also getting a lot of new books for their classrooms. I earned some money for our vacation and am getting some books for the girls for Easter.

I had two pieces of pizza and a diet coke! Came home and made a small white Russian and having a little bit of chips and dip! I didn't stop for 3 straight hours so I think I earned it! I am wiped!

Saturday's QOTD: What is your favorite healthy food and what is your favorite non-healthy food? Is there anything that can be done to your non-healthy favorite to make it healthy?

QOTD: My favorite healthy food is my new chocolate mint shake that I make. My favorite non-healthy food is enchiladas. I make them healthy by adding lettuce to them, using ground turkey, a reduced fat cheese and high protein whole wheat wraps that I get at Costco!

My other favorite food lately is eggplant roll-ups. I use the eggplant cutlets from TJs and reduced fat mozzarella cheese and go light on the pesto. I sometimes also add in some chicken.

Watching Return of the King, one of my all time favorite movies!

Guess I should send my weigh in to dvccruiser76! I'm up again this week. I'm going through my yoyo stage right now as I slowly get back into working out. I am down from yesterday so I guess it could be worse!

Don't you just love :lovestruc: days when you have points left over at the end, and you didn't feel like you starved all day long? That happens to me sometimes. And other times I feel like I have eaten little all day long, and feel starved, and am over by like 4 points! I have no idea how all that works out, but anyway, congrats on being OP today!!
