Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Greetings all! I'm Kipp and I go by KippWade on most social sites. I'm a 43 yo male that is tired of being called "Big Guy".

I started 2011 weighing in at the Doctors office at 282lb. I started running the C25K program in March and doing a BL type contest with my Dad up until our Disney trip around Labor Day.

Since ending our contest, I've pretty much been stuck in the 240's. Although I've flirted with climbing back over 250 during this Christmas season! :(

I'm relatively new to the DISboards and found it while looking for information for the Disney World 1/2 Marathon.

I plan on meeting with some people at the meets for the Marathon Weekend. The WDW 1/2 will be my first running event ever!

I'm hoping by joining in on this, it'll keep up my motivation and for me to reverse the recent gain and continue on with the weight loss I want.

Congrats on your accompolishments! Sounds like you have a positive mindset and a supportive family! Great work on the running! My first ever running event was a half marathon too! 18 months later I can say that I am still doing them. Great for you! I did the WDW half last January, and I ran/walked it, trying to stay on an interval of 3 minutes running/2 minutes walking, but sometimes I was just so tired I walked for about 15 minutes or so just to get the will to try and run again. Then I played the head games with myself that my walk is faster than my run! It's not, even if I think it is (and it was probably close). I read a good tip going into the 2010 WDW half that I have used ever since: pick a person running ahead of you that is going just a little faster than you are. Now picture a giant rubber band around the both of you, connecting you. If you can imagine that, it really helps you feel like you are being pulled along by that other person. Sounds crazy, I know, but try it - it works! Good luck and let us know how the race goes! We will all be rooting for you!!!

Okay yes I know its late and I should of already been in bed but I have to get this off of my chest.

I've been in FL now since mid September. Life and holidays have gotten in the way and I finally was able to get hold of Tricare (military insurance) to get a new doctor. Well, a task that usually doesn't take that long wound up taking an hour.

Now, it'll be 4 years in a few weeks since my husband and daughter died. I have accepted what has happened and that they are never coming back. No, I'm not completely over it. I still have my bad days (and my REALLY bad days) but for the most part it doesn't consume my life anymore...... UNTIL...

I freaking have to call these knuckleheads!! It makes my blood boil (because some of them just aren't that smart) and its like rubbing salt in a wound. "Mrs. A you are a surviving spouse?" Seriously, every time I get asked that question I want to yell in the phone "Um, do you not have his information in front of you? It clearly says he's DECEASED. Therefore that would mean I'm a surviving spouse." I know they are doing their job and yes some of these painful questions have to be asked to verify information but it still just annoys the crap out of me.

So after going back and forth between Tricare and DEERS I finally got someone on the phone that knew her head from her butt. I told her, "You know its bad enough that my husband is dead but its a pain in my butt everytime I want to simply change my doctor I have to go through this nightmare." Luckily, she was understanding and helped me get the process taken care of over the phone (Thank god for not having to mail paperwork off and extending this process). I now have a new dr and need to get an apt made.

So, this whole fiasco of course brought up all the emotions of the 4 year anniversary of their death (Jan 27th). Every year since their passing I've been out of town on that day. I can't handle being home because it just depresses me that much more and I eat my weight in ice cream.

We were at Daytona Beach a few days before NYE and we enjoyed ourselves. I spent a lot of time walking the beach and just relaxing. I told Alan I wanted to go back the 26th - 28th. So, my task later today is to look into prices at the hotel we stayed at and determine if we want to stay there again or somewhere else.

I'm going to get some single long stem roses and take them with me. The day of the anniversary I am going to release them into the ocean.

Plans for today:

Call new doctor
vacuum
work out
research hotels

I'll post replies later today when I get up, G'Night!

Hugs to you! You are such a strong person. I, too, love the idea of the roses in the ocean. Good luck with everything! :)

Good morning,

My kids go back to school today and it was so hard to get myself up this morning.

QOTD: I shoveled twice yesterday, ate fruit instead of the cookie I really wanted and used Truvia instead of sugar in my tea.

Have a great day everyone!

Kristi

Good morning!! This is the third morning in a row I got up and treadmilled, today was 2 miles in 27:07. Swung through McDonald's for that darn egg mcmuffin I was craving too. DH calls me on his way to take DD to my parents' house. "Honey where is the Hostess Cherry Pies you bought, I couldn't find them." Uh yeah I threw them out when I purged the house of goodies the other day. Didn't feel all that bad we still have the crunchy fun size to satisfy his sweet tooth that I packed in his lunch this morning. He asks me to keep him on track and then goes for the pie! Lunch today is a Lean Cuisine shrimp meal and dinner is either leftover pork or leftover tacos. Does anyone else eat Think Thin bars? I eat have for a morning snack and the other half in the afternoon. Have a great day!

Good Morning Team Mickey!

I slept better last night and woke up before the alarm so I'm off on the right foot today. :thumbsup2

Last night, I wrote myself a to-do list. It is not short.
I dont know for sure either. I used to be able to work out in the morning w/o eating and didnt have a problem, so, I'm not sure what yesterday was all about. I have a horrible habit of not eating breakfast, so that is something I need to change anyways.

Hope you are able to figure things out! :goodvibes

My biggest goal for the week...DRINK MORE WATER!! Its all I drink (except for the occasional Dr Pepper), but I just dont drink enough of it. 24oz if I'm lucky! Need to get to that magical number 64 oz!

The important part is that you are trying!

It's Woo Hoo Wednesday! Give yourself a big "woo hoo" for helping yourself to be healthy and share something that you did today to help you with your goals. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Last night, I wrote a to-do list. If I accomplish everything, I will have exercised and journaled all my food plus cleaned in various places and ran a few errands. :goodvibes

:welcome: Amy! I like the idea of a mid-morning and mid-afternoon break!

LTS: Hope you have a wonderful day today!

:welcome: Noni! Sounds like you really like exercising!

Ok, it's for tomorrow, but I have two small victories to report today.
1. I actually got up 20 min early and did 30 Day Shred, Day 6 before getting ready for work.
2. I decided to forego my planned frozen yogurt, inspired a bit while watching Biggest Loser on tv tonight. Instead chose to finish logging for the day on MFP and all was good.:thumbsup2

Going to come back and re-read this post on days when I need a little boost;)

:thumbsup2 x2 :thumbsup2

I'm answering tonight cause tomorrow will be CRAZY for me!

Tomorrow I will be:

1. Starting my Gym routine!
2. Trying to eat healthy and log my meals into my food journal for the first time on the go!

Great plan!

:welcome: Dawn!

I have been surprised at how small a true meat portion is supposed to be. However I had a big bowl of greens for a salad and was really happy with the size. I think that is where tracking the food helps because it helps me make better choices.

Meat portions are surprisingly small. The calories are almost entirely protein though, if it's lean meat. :goodvibes

Hope your next appt goes better Friend of a Mouse!

Kristina:  Love the rose idea!

:welcome: Greg! Post and PM your weight whenever you can! Not a problem at all!

quotd:
Lately a nacho tray. I learned from biggest loser to look for portion sizes in regards to calories--this makes a huge difference. For example check the portion size on a box of pizza--you would be surprised.:scared1:

Pizza portions are :scared1: small!

Tracey: Hope it warms up at least a little bit! :goodvibes

QOTD: I shoveled twice yesterday, ate fruit instead of the cookie I really wanted and used Truvia instead of sugar in my tea.

:thumbsup2 Sorry to hear you have so much snow.

Those pies were a good choice to toss! :thumbsup2

I'm 39 (40 on August 1st)

I'm turning 40 this year

So, I go back in a couple of weeks for my blood work results.

i'm turning 40 this year too  August 7th....and i so much want to be on my way a slimmer me for this milestone!

dmslush -- i'm so sorry you are facing health problems and praying for you that you don't have lupus, but i totally understand knowing there is something wrong and needing to have the answers (hugs)

Okay yes I know its late and I should of already been in bed but I have to get this off of my chest.

:hug::hug: we are here for you, anytime, all the time :hug::hug:

well i'm off to start my day running, just needed a Mickey team fix to keep my mindset in check!

Just wanted to say I hope the nightmares stop and you can get a peaceful night.
Are you taking any new medications or supplements? Sometimes they will trigger nightmares. I tried a new Melatonin to help me sleep and it gave me the most awful nightmares. Didn't know until my daughter started complaining of the same thing. Once we switched to our old brand, the nightmares stopped. hth.

Jo

yes, any new meds? i remember i went on lunesta a few years ago (pre-kids, gosh i wish i could take a sleeping pill now...or give one to my 5 week old! kidding, of course!) i had TERRIBLE nightmares! they were very scary and intense. who wants to sleep when you have to have nightmares??

hope those bad dreams go away asap!

Hey Mickeys, you're so fine!

Sorry been a bit MIA today -- this working thing really interferes with the old Dis time. Not to mention I just poofed a page of replies -- hope I'm as witty, sage and entertaining the second time around.

stupid work and responsibilities! and that poof fairy is such a queen, isn't she??

I, too, like I feel I know portions and calories by now after years of practicing but I still find myself shocked about things sometimes. It's good to be reminded what calorie bombs muffins are every once in awhile.

i often remind myself that i actually don't really like muffins or donuts so i won't eat them. i love food so much and love all sweets that it would make sense that i'd love muffins or donuts but they are just two things i could go without. and yet, i'll still have one now and then and then :scared1: when i think about the calories!

And thanks for your nice words! :flower3:

xoxo

great QOTDs so far, lisa. thanks! i'm coaching next week and i'm already scouring aunt ann's FB page for some quotes :)

;

Not much variety at Wallyworld today. Ended up with just the plain light stuff. Hungry Girl uses it a lot in her recipes. If you haven't seen her cookbooks you can go to her site and she actually has a photo of all of the recipes along with the name. (at least for the 2 I just checked out from the library-- 200 under 200 and 300 under 300 ) Now I am not advocating plagiarism or anything but if you google the name of the recipe you can usually find it somewhere on the 'net.

sometimes i love hungry girl and sometimes i want to smack her. lol! she has so many recipes for things like smoothies and mocha-choca-latta-ya-ya drinks and they just don't taste that great. plus, drinking my calories is something i try to avoid. but i really like her exchanges for bar food like how to make potato skins more healthy, etc! i'm going to check out her cookbooks!

I would have been FURIOUS!! And probably would have made my DH haul his butt to the store and buy me a box immediately! I get cranky like that.

me too!

The last few times I have been to subway I have ordered the Meatball sub made into a salad with spinach as the base. That makes them look at me like :confused3. They can't believe I just want meatballs and spinach and nothing else. But the warm meatballs wilt the spinach just a little and make a nice entree. Or I will order the full meatball sub, again with just meat and spinach and a fork and knife and eat it off of the bread. I am sure the meatballs have way more fat in them then I would like but it is just a occasional thing.

that actually sounds really good!

oh and about ground turkey - we eat at least one meal a week with it. it's so versatile and tastes great. calorie-wise it's probably similar to lean ground beef but cholesterol wise it's much healthier.

I sent you a friend request on myfitnesspal. My screen name there is 1313harbor

Anybody know where that is?

i googled it! i'm assuming you're not talking about the 1313 harbor in weekawken, nj (next to hoboken) but instead talking about the one in anaheim!! ;)

Oh, and may I recommend the Lightsaber app for your new iPhone? It's free. :teeth: It turns your phone into a lightsaber with full Star Wars sound effects. You can even change your lightsaber base and color. It has no practical application but if you ever need to whip out your lightsaber and take care of someone, you will be ready! :darth:

yeah i totally have that!

Just try not to share it with him.

That walking around the mall would qualify for your activity for the 100 day challenge. I did some cross training today -- who would have thought I really wished it was running instead. :confused3

proud to say i didn't eat any of the cookie!

I'll be back in a couple of minutes with tomorrows QOTD. I am trying something new for Thursday called "tell me what you want" Thursday. Would you rather talk about stress, exercise or do the math for weight loss? Let me know. :flower3:

MATH MATH MATH!!

Better late than never, right? Hi! I'm Liz, and this is my first BL challenge.

I'm 39 (40 on August 1st), married to Eric (DEA on the boards) for eight years. We have two beautiful daughters - Anna (7) and Tessa (4). We live in northern VA, but I'm from New England - grew up in CT and lived in the Boston area for several years. I work two jobs - one for a university in DC and one managing an academic journal - and life is busy, as you can imagine. We count our blessings every day. :)

I've done this dance for a loooong time. I first joined WW back in 1996. ! Two re-joins later, in 2000, it stuck, and I made lifetime status, losing 33 pounds in about 6 months. I maintained that loss until Eric and I got married - and I got pregnant the next month! With Anna, I gained 80 pounds. :scared1: I lost just about all of it after she was born, and then I gained 60 during my pregnancy with Tessa. Oy. Most of that came off, too, but the last 15 (to a revised goal) have been stubborn as anything. I'm back on WW, of course, as I've loved the success I've had with it (I'm also the liaison for the university where I work and WW - we have an on-campus meeting). But I think I need a little extra push and accountability to jump-start myself - especially my exercise - after the holiday season.

So here I am! Proud to be Team Mickey and looking forward to a great challenge. Now, here's hoping I can keep up!

XO
Liz

welcome! where in CT were you? i went to MS and HS in ridgefield.

Ok confession time...I even salt canned soup. .

:scared1: you DO love salt!!! lol!

It's Woo Hoo Wednesday! Give yourself a big "woo hoo" for helping yourself to be healthy and share something that you did today to help you with your goals.

i got on the scale this morning (after feeding the baby to try to maximize weight loss, lol) and logged my weight. i'm one of those people who has to do it every day b/c if i skip a day i'll be more likely to keep skipping and then the spiral begins. so, logged my weight, reviewed my food journal from yesterday, and started my day off with steel cut oatmeal and a banana.

so, WOO HOO for me!!

****
good morning losers! i've taken up too much time now typing up replies so i'll stop here. have to get both boys dressed and out the door in 13 minutes so i can go set up the classroom for mommy and me. our classes resume today. one of the girls just had her second birthday and they are bringing cupcakes :scared1: I WILL NOT HAVE ONE!! bringing a water bottle instead! and i ate a nice breakfast and feel very satisfied from that so that will help me make the right choice. then i can come back and add on to my QOTD answer by saying i avoided temptation and stepped away from the cake!

gah! i only have 11 minutes now! gotta run!! xoxo

i'm turning 40 this year too  August 7th....and i so much want to be on my way a slimmer me for this milestone
Yay, another Leo going 40 this year! It's not bothering me much (yet) - I guess I don't feel like I thought I'd feel at 40. Life's too busy and fun to slow down and stare at the number, I guess. :)

welcome! where in CT were you? i went to MS and HS in ridgefield.
Thanks! I grew up in Higganum (just down Route 9 from Middletown) & was in-state all through college and for two years afterward. I love going back to visit, but I've never been fond of winter, so we usually go in August. :thumbsup2

Yesterday was my first official day on the challenge, and I think it's just the kick in the pants I needed! I haven't caught up to the QOTDs (except for my intro), but I'm loving the extra motivation so far. Hit the bike for 45 minutes last night. This morning, I decided to try getting back to my old routine of exercising early (I work at home four days a week, so it's feasible pretty much every day but Tuesday). I did 15 minutes of Just Dance (the sweat thingie) and 30 minutes on the bike this morning, and I love how awake and refreshed I feel! Time for some breakfast and then to work.

I have a Let's Dish session later today, and I'm looking forward to getting some easy meals into the freezer - I'm burned out on heavy cooking after the holidays!

XO
Liz

Okay, in the spirit of getting caught up, here are my QOTD responses (my intro is back a few pages!):

What I'll do to get on track:
1. Recommit to exercise, first thing in the morning whenever possible.
2. Recommit to tracking via WW.
3. Continue attending my at-work WW meetings - it's a great & supportive group, and I need them!
4. Give myself that glass of wine and a VitaTop in the evening. :)

Do I think tracking food is important?
Absolutely. I'm a devoted WWer, and I see a huge difference in my results when I track vs. when I don't. I find it easy to slip on tracking, not noting the things I'd rather forget I ate :rotfl: but when I account for them and stay the course, the results are invariably better.

And my Wednesday Woo-Hoo! Here's what I've done so far today to move myself along this road:
Once DH and the kids were out the door (a little before 7), I fired up the Wii and did 15 minutes of Just Dance, followed by 30 minutes on the bike (watching the rest of last night's BL, which I find hugely motivating). I love knowing the rest of the day is stretching out in front of me, and my exercise is DONE!

Hey Liz,

I like your signature! My family will also be on PCC3.0! Can't wait! That's what I am doing this for! I want to be where I was this time last year!

Kids are off to school, Mom and Dad are eating breakfast. I need to drink my tea. As soon as Mom gets ready we are heading to Nashua to the mall and Home Depot so Brian can hopefully fix the couch on Friday.

Going to do a whole bunch of cleaning when we get back from the store. Don't have to go anywhere tonight. I think I'll go try and do something with Izzie's room while waiting for Mom to get dressed. You can't even walk in there right now!

TTFN :tigger:

Thanks! :) We seem to be adding trips every year (my husband is more addicted to Disney than I am, even!), but I think 2012 may be it for big trips for a while - we need to focus on moving in the next year or two, and Disney vacations are sadly incompatible with saving for a down payment. :) But oooh, PC 3.0 and our AKL stay will be a good way to say farewell for a while! And I intend to look a heck of a lot better in a bathing suit by the time we sail... :lmao:

checking in, will go back and read and answer as I can.

Need to get my coaching schedule, this is just a really busy week for me.

Will be back soon!!

Criminy! This thread is hopping. I'm several pages behind and will remain that way until much later tonight. Off to work--subbing for a guy with strep throat in a special ed classroom. Thankfully we've been on break and he hasn't been back so none of his germs to pick up.

Have a great day!

Hello Team Mickey. I first found this thread on New Years Eve. It took me to the next evening to decide to join got my PM on Monday that I am on Team Mickey:yay:

Let me introduce myself. I am a single mom with a daughter in college (her first year away from home) and a son who is a sophmore in high school. I will be 40 this month. Me and my son just moved back into my moms house so I can pay off debt (mostly a student loan) I am a preschool teacher.

Why I am here is a few years ago I lost almost 70 pounds I was working out (actually enjoyed hiking and yoga) and then work started getting stressful and I gained about 50 pounds of my weight back. Seeing pictures of me during the holidays made me sad. Knowing that I can do it but I just haven't been motivated to do anything, then I came across this thread and was like I need to stop making excuses and get back on track. So here I am.

I don't have a goal weight as of now. My first goal is to lose 10% of my body weight and then go on from there. If I look at the big numbers I get discouraged.

Hopefully tonight I will get to read thru this thread and get all caught up.
looking forward to get to know everyone on team mickey
I am off to work now

Morning Team Mickey!

My to-do list is getting shorter. So far, I've:
- made my bed (nightmares = kicking blankets off of bed, so a task to make it)
- worked on my binder
- cleaned up my bedroom somewhat (the binder project added to my bedroom mess)
- job searched
- ate a healthy breakfast
- weighed myself (not looking good for the week...need to journal)
- caught up on my PMs
- sent an important e-mail that took some time to do

I have replying to all of you on my list, although only until Noon, so...

yes, any new meds? i remember i went on lunesta a few years ago (pre-kids, gosh i wish i could take a sleeping pill now...or give one to my 5 week old! kidding, of course!) i had TERRIBLE nightmares! they were very scary and intense. who wants to sleep when you have to have nightmares??

Too true!

Tracey: Hope you have a great day today!

Hi Buffy! Do I owe you a PM? I thought I sent one. :confused3

:wave2:

It's Woo Hoo Wednesday! Give yourself a big "woo hoo" for helping yourself to be healthy and share something that you did today to help you with your goals.
The biggest thing I did was go the store and fill the house with healthy foods. Veggies are practically falling out of the refrigerator! Much easier to eat healthy when you actually have stuff to eat :rotfl: . I also banished most all of the unhealthy stuff from the kitchen where it is easy access. We have extra pantry storage in a small upstairs room and an extra refrigerator and freezer in the garage. I am way too lazy to go up the stairs and it is way too cold to go out to the garage so the kids can keep their treats there and I won't be tempted!:rotfl2:

So I went to get the blood testing done and had to leave before they could do it. I sat in the drawing room for over 30 minutes because they couldn't find one of the tests (the food intolerance one.) I finally asked her how long it would take and she couldn't tell me. I was already late to work and they hadn't even drawn the blood yet. The good thing is all the other tests are ordered and she was supposed to call about the test they couldn't find today. So I'm going tomorrow at open to see if I can get it done before school.

Today was pretty good. I did have some frozen yogurt, but the nice thing about Jenny is that I do not feel guilty for small splurges. I was proud of myself because I had a rough afternoon and any other time I would have eaten out instead of eating my Jenny meal. I almost had to ride the bus home with a student, as it was I had to stay very late waiting for a different bus. I did have to ride the bus home with him one and was so hungry and tired that I grabbed Italian on the way home since I knew they would bring bread out first thing. I was able to resist the temptation today, so I was proud of myself.

I really want to start exercising again, but I've been nervous. Since the last time I got sick, I have been coughing a lot. I tried to do Just Dance with my husband on New Year's Eve and felt like crap the whole next day from coughing so much. I'm debating if I should go see the doctor. The last time i did it wasn't bronchitis flare up so tere was nothing she could do. I don't want to be the girl that criest wolf, but I am getting sick and tired of it. Hopefully the blood tests and my ENT visit next week can help me figure it out.
Well that stinks about the blood work. I hate getting my blood drawn and have fainted several times. I have been putting off the one I currently need but will probably suck it up and go on Friday. I would hate to be ready for it and then have to come back later!

:cheer2: for resisting that temptation!! I hope they can figure out why you haven't been feeling well.

What did bother me, was when the doctor described me as, "morbidly obese" I decided that I needed to do something. I started a diet after returning from our July 2011 trip. I am very proud to say that I have current lost 42 pounds but I still want to drop another 59. I plan to get down to 185. Realistly I hope to be 200 pounds for our upcoming trip.
Now, I gotta let y'all know, as far as the game goes I will not be weighing in weekly. I work on a boat and cannot weigh in that often. I will be weighing in every third week. Sorry, but that's the life of a towboater, or as we call it, "Tug Life".
I am also going to throw a shout out to all my fellow disdads.
:welcome: Love to see our disdads!
It is amazing how those two little words can really shake you up. Way to go on the loss so far and sounds like you will do great getting the rest of it gone. Just let the weightkeeper know (send a PM) that you will only be able to weigh in every 3 weeks so she can make a note of it.

So, this whole fiasco of course brought up all the emotions of the 4 year anniversary of their death (Jan 27th). Every year since their passing I've been out of town on that day. I can't handle being home because it just depresses me that much more and I eat my weight in ice cream.

I'm going to get some single long stem roses and take them with me. The day of the anniversary I am going to release them into the ocean.
That really stinks. You would think that of all organizations the military would be able to be more sensitive to situations where a loved one has passed. But of course I guess sensitivity and anything government related don't really go together. Glad you found someone that knew what they were doing.

Frankly I wouldn't blame you for eating your weight in ice cream but it sounds like you have some great plans to help you get through a difficult day. I love the idea of the roses. I know that staying busy really can help on difficult days.

G DH calls me on his way to take DD to my parents' house.
:lmao: That made me laugh! Sounds like something I would do. And by throwing them out you are doing exactly what he asked you do and keeping him on track. I am lucky that my DH has joined me in this last year and this year so he is totally supportive. It is really funny when he calls me to ask what he can eat because something unexpected came up.

Let me introduce myself. I am a single mom with a daughter in college (her first year away from home) and a son who is a sophmore in high school. I will be 40 this month. Me and my son just moved back into my moms house so I can pay off debt (mostly a student loan) I am a preschool teacher.

I don't have a goal weight as of now. My first goal is to lose 10% of my body weight and then go on from there. If I look at the big numbers I get discouraged.
:welcome:
I think that looking at smaller numbers is the best way to start. Big numbers seem out of reach but smaller ones look easy to get to.

So my Keurig isn't working. :furious: I really love the concept of the machine but we have not had good luck with them. Our first one had to be replaced twice in the first few months and ultimately we ended up buying a different model. This one has been great for about a year but now is not working. It is way to expensive to only last a year. We have been able to coax it to work so far, with a whole lot of pain and suffering to us and the machine. I would say to heck with it but I just got a ton of the coffee cups for Christmas! May look at the other brands that use the same cups and see if I can find something better.

Other than having to fight for my morning cup of coffee so far today is better. Made my breakfast (scrambled eggs with mushrooms, turkey sausage and spinach) without cutting or burning myself. I was going to make turkey meatballs for lunch but may leave that for tomorrow or get the kids to help me mix them up tonight and cook them tomorrow. I know DD11 would love to help me make them.

TO WHOEVER POSTED ABOUT THE SALAD IN THE JAR SITE: Sorry, don't have time to go back and find the post but OMG :worship: I love you for posting that site!!! Going to order the attachment for my Food Saver today and pick up some jars. Our local thrift store has tons of them for about 25 cents each. I was just lamenting this weekend how I would love to be able to cut up my lettuce all at one time and keep it fresh. And I like it very small so I prefer to cut it, not tear which doesn't keep at all. I can't stand the bagged salads-- they have a funny chemical taste to them that makes me gag.

DH was actually really excited about the concept because we use the Food Saver with the bags for a ton of stuff. He said we can save money by putting a lot of it in the jars instead.

Not sure what I am going to do today. I need to finish putting away Christmas stuff. I also bought stuff to organize my kitchen drawers and am eager to get that done, but with the christmas stuff on all the flat surfaces I guess I should get it done first. My house is such a pigsty right now I am ready to scream.

Everyone have a great day full of healthy choices!:cheer2:

Good morning every one!! I hope you all are doing good so far this week.:) I am on day two of my walking/running and I feel so much better. My legs are killing me, but it's a good kind of pain.

For the past two mornings I have had an egg for breakfast and even though I ate at 7:30 am, it's now 11:00 and I am still not hungry. I think it's because I exercised.:confused3 Anyway, I plan to watch what I eat again today. I did weigh in this morning and it shows that I have lost 1 pound. I guess that's better than nothing. :rotfl2:

:wave2:

THAT is awesome...your DH is so supportive and is totally in tune with what to do when the unexpected arises...he calls you!:)

It's Woo Hoo Wednesday! Give yourself a big "woo hoo" for helping yourself to be healthy and share something that you did today to help you with your goals.

So far today...I've had protein for breakfast and had hot tea instead of soda. Exercise will be in a few after I finish on my emails and here.

But here's my funny.... I discovered yesterday that my mom is on Team Donald...LOL:laughing: A little extra competition I think.
