Team Hakuna Matata - MAY Thread!

Hey Team I have a new player for us. Please welcome Anne, Rpsemont. She will be hanging out over here with us.

Anne we log our miles from running/walking/biking/swimming/treadmill anything you can figure miles on. We also log hours exercised, so any time spent in exercise can count.

Welcome Anne, glad to have you with us.

Sorry gang I was pooped, worked about 31 hours in the last 48 and drove over 900 miles.

I think I have a PT test next week, should not be a prob,

Youa'll are doing great, keep up the great efforts, and before you know it you will have done some pretty neat stuff.

Enjoy the day kiddies.

Welcome Anne! :jumping1: I will send you a PM to tell you about the rules and reporting procedure. Please take the time to tell us about yourself!

Good morning, Peeps!

Rained and rained and rained. Since I don't live in a city where there's lots of cement and pavement, it's a mud hole here. :lmao: I guess I will be getting a little muddy when I go walking' around.

Hope everyone has a great day! Keep those miles rolling!

Good Morning Team!

Welcome Anne!

Did get a good walk in yesterday, I am encouraged by my pace. Today is cold and windy, I am hoping that it might be nicer later, but I am afraid that it will be even more windy! Today is cross-training day anyway, I will do my pilates tape and some weights. I finally broke down and ordered the Pilates for Dummies from Amazon, I never could find it locally, our library did not have it, nor any other interesting exercise tapes. It looks like it will be really nice starting tomorrow for the next week, so I will have no excuses. (Soon I will be complaining that it is too hot to walk!!!)

It is good to hear from our team mates that have not posted for awhile!

Have a great day!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome, Anne :cheer2: :cheer2: So glad you joined us!

Did go to the gym last night...this has been one of those weeks where I am struggling as my heart just isn't in it :confused3

Longs days, Scott - I agree your PT test should be a breeze...if you can stay awake! :thumbsup2

Connie, PM'ing mine and Erica's Miles & Time :upsidedow

Lynne, I received my Pilate's for Dummies DVD and did watch it but so far that it! :rolleyes1

Good morning team! Just stopping in for a quick hello! I'm going to be going out for my first run this afternoon since the Minnie. Definitely looking forward to it and thinking about doing another race maybe in the summer or fall.

Welcome to the team Anne! :goodvibes

Kathy - When I use to go to the gym a couple of years ago, there use to be an older woman there who was in really good shape. I use to try and keep up with her as well. My mom talked to her a couple of times and found out that she was 75! She was great motivation for me!

Lynne - It's cold in Toronto too. I'm missing the WDW weather already! I guess the suitcase full of warm weather I packed never did make it back with us.

Connie - That's awesome! Thank-you :) I made sure to write down the new weeks so I should have everything (properly) prepared for next time!

Scott - That's a lot of mileage! Wow! Good luck with the PT test :)

Welcome to all our new teammates!!!!!

Yes, I'm still here waiting to start training again!

Lynn, both Dave and I would love to volunteer for a Water Stop with you during the half!! I am planning to go back to work next week, that is if I can get the Dr to release me. Feet still swell, but are getting better...way less pain...now if I can get shoes on!

Thanks for the miles! Boy, I'm really going to have to put in some serious miles...really looking forward to be able to work out and train again!!!

Erica:)

YEAH!!!! I HAVE TOMORROW OFF YEAH!!!! but have to work Sunday and be on the road. The up is I get three mornings at home, good coffe and fun breakfast, weather is reported to be good adn I am planning a nice long run each morn.

The drywall, etc etc

Hagen and I walked to Wally's World this afternoon...round trip it was a nice 4-miles. I was concerned about the traffic and one major 4-lane crossing, but it went great. :goodvibes

Yeah, Sweet Erica! Glad to hear you are healing and your toes are feeling much better. :flower3:

I am walking the WDW 'Donald' Half 2009 - is that the one everyone is volunteering to work? I do not get to stay long so not thinking I would be able to do it this time. :sad1:

I have volunteered to work for the 'Girls on the Run' May 22nd here in Kalamazoo.

Here's my donation for this week. Erica, it's great to hear you're healing well and that you're planning on volunteering for the 1/2! :woohoo: DOOD and I are planning on doing that too, and have told Kristi we're interested so that our names on the list. (Don't know when, where or how, but it's a good feeling nonetheless.)

ERICA'S MILES: 3.3 miles
ERICA'S MINUTES: :57 or (.95 in decimal format)

I hope you all have a great weekend. :thumbsup2

Good morning Team!!! Thanks Debra for miles for Erica. You are a marvel!

Just a quick drive-by. I am heading to my DD's home so that I can go watch the grandkids in field day. They will be in races of all kinds. Got to encourage that physical activity! :thumbsup2

Everyone make a great day for yourselves!

Good Morning, everyone and welcome Anne.

It's Friday and the countdown is on for the first long weekend for us north of the border. Happy "24" Weekend to my fellow Canadians. Off to the cottage. It's been a long, snowy winter. Can't wait for the morning ritual of coffee/ tea on the deck. :woohoo:

It will be a couple of days of trail running. Hard to describe the running surface. (gravel/ sand/ dirt with a few tree roots thrown in). Won't be putting in high mileage but will get in my hill training.

Anyone racing this weekend? What's everyone up to over the next couple of months? Thinking of doing back to back races at the end of July. (1/4 marathon on the Sat. and 1/2 marathon on the Sun.)

Have a great weekend and training......Sue

Got up and it was windy and cloudy so went and did 2mi on the TM and then some calisthenics. Make some breakfast and then start hanging the rock in the south bedroom. The ceiling lift I got is a god send.

We are thinking about putting in some shrubberies between the barn and house to work as a wind break. Either do that or contacting Boeing to see if they want to use it as a wind tunnel. Saw some shrubberies at Lowes yesterday for a good price; I just hope the Knights that say “Ni” have not bought them all up.

Glad to have the day off.

Always Look On the Bright Side of Life.

Enjoy your day

Oh I forgot I am worried about the size of mice we have invading the garage, I am missing one of my traps.

I forgot we have the BolderBoulder next weekend it is a 10K.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't had much time for visiting here lately but I haven't fallen off the edge of the world, just busy.

Good workout this morning, 4 walking mles, last 2 at 12 min pace. Then good workout with cals, weights and stretching.

Debra thank you.

Erica and I are not doing the half next january so we would love to volunteer at a water station. I think Lynn posted that she would also, maybe we can ask for the same station.

Have a super day y'all.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Happy Friday everyone! I went out running for the first time since the Minnie yesterday and felt a little out of shape. I ran 8 minute intervals since I wasn't sure how hard to push myself. I feel a little stiff today and I wished I had iced a little more last night.

I have a doctor's appointment today for a measles vaccination. There were a few cases reported last week while I was away. My office building is connected to a bunch of other buildings through an underground path. The cases were reported in other buildings but I figured I should get one since I do walk in the underground. Apparently anyone who was born after 1970 should have 2 and I've only had one. Ugh - Did I mention I hate needles? :( This must be another sign that I need to get off my butt and start looking for a new job.

Dave - That would be cool to see you, Erica and Lynn at one of the water stations!

Scott - My fiance's parents had mice at their house earlier this year. These critters were big enough that the traps weren't working properly. They figured out that the mice were able to stick their heads into the traps and eat the food because their heads/neck were big enough to support the trap and keep it from closing.

Sue - Which races are running in July? I'm thinking of the Scotiabank Waterfront at the end of September but I'm not sure yet. Have you ever done that one before?

Hope everyone has a great day and weekend!!

Got the sheet rock up and we are pooped, We did keep track of our trips up and down the stairs, Lynn says about 30 times. Took a shower and then we soaked in the Jacuzi bath Tub.

Didn't make it to Lowes, Mudd and tape tomorrow, I hope the wind lays down tomorrow.

We received a 5/10K local race registration in the mail today. Mid June so shoudl be fun.

Need to get 6 mile plus in tomorrow.

Hope ya all enjoy the weekend.

Good morning team.

I've decided that I would play the rest card today. Remember it's during the rest phase that you actually get stronger. So I'm going to sit here and grow stronger, life is good.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Scott, you and Lynn ought to be getting your autographed copy of the final season of "This Old House" in the mail soon. I think Bob will be delivering it personally.

We don't have a basement, wish we did. Some day I'll have to play the lottery and see if I can win enouth to buy a... OH Never mind, I'd just move to Disney World anyway.:cloud9:
