Poor kids won't be able to find pencils and magnets containing their names at Wal-Mart; very frustrating when you are 8 and the Disneyland gift shop has every spelling of your name except the one your mother chose to give you. Not that I am bitter or anything.

I agree, I think they have the right to name them whatever they want, but didn't they think about it prior to doing this. The things that these kids are probably going to go through when they get to school is going to be just awful!

I just looked at a math test DS9 took. He had 25 of 26 correct. That should be 96%, an A, or 4, meaning above grade level. BUT, because he didn't have 26/26, then he got a 3 which is meeting grade level expectations. I just don't get it.

Yeah, CE, your temps aren't cutting it. It's now 9:00 here and it's still -5 with a windchill of -26. Don't know how cold it got overnight! Tomorrow is supposed to be colder yet.

I'm with Janet, then - no complaints here. I just got off the phone with Mom - her projected high today is -2.

Yeah, I'm one of those mean Mommas that made it impossible for my kids to get anything with their names on it....well, you're starting to see #1 son's name, but 2 and 3? Forget it. However, they've got good Irish names, not Voldemort kind of names.

Tennis #1 is over and I decided to come home and have lunch, so as not to tempt myself with fast food - though I'm not sure the leftovers I'll end up with are that much better - but they're not fried, at least.

Poor thing. Baylie prefers the "alternate solution" all the time. The doctor said it's safe, so why not?

Okay, you have to understand this kid's dream is to save the world. He's super environmentally aware, and wants to go to Borneo when he's older to study the animals.

SO, we're having a "green" party. Each room of the house (downstairs) will be transformed into a different habitat. Each habitat will have game so the kids can either clean trash out of the "ocean" or find the tree frogs in the "rain forest." He doesn't like cake, so we're making ice cream sundaes in the "Artic." I'm not buying anything other than food...we're finding all the decorations and using our bowls, spoons, cups and stuff.

I think it's very well thought out, S'late. You need some answers and I think this is the perfect way to get them. At least she will be prepared and better be able to answer your concerns.

I saw this awhile back when they tried to get the sons name on a birthday cake and the store refused. I'm all for the state taking these kids away. People who spread hate, should not be allowed to have children and continue the circle of hate. It's disgusting and it's wrong.

Oh TE loved your boys names. And #2's name is becoming a bit more popular now these days. I've seen it a few times locally.

Got nothing planned today, really. Just about to head over to the Fit, whilst the kids are at school. I volunteer in Maddie's class today for an hour, so I'll be heading there later.

So all you negative weather people. I am blowing this Arctic air to the east. I'm over it. SO when it arrives I have a trick for you to do with the kids. Take a small cup of boiling water and throw it up in the air. (just stick your arm outside on the deck or something, no need to bundle yourselves up).

The water should immediately vaporize. it is really cool!
