I skimmed the pages but between not feeling all that great and having to take care of DR this is what I came up with...

Mel - :hug: Hope your feeling better. As for the ex-boyfriend if you want to add him and it won't cause problems, then do it. I've added some of mine but that's only because well, I'm single. LOL But I see my ex-H's name pop up from time to time on Suggested People and I just ignore him.

Jen - Why would a teacher even say that?

CE - So glad you are able to get home!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's it for me this afternoon. I have mostly been lazy and dozed off and on while DR watched his shows. I think I'm coming down with what Lindsey had the other day. Good news is that it seems to last only about 24 hours.
Our washer broke last night. I think it might have something to do with the spin cycle. It started making some funny noise while it was running and then just started beeping at me. I think we bought it last year, maybe 2 years ago, and it is under warranty. The bad thing was I had a load of towels in there and the ones on top were damp while the ones on the bottom were soaked. I had towels hanging everywhere in my bathroom and laundry room. LOL
We are getting snow right now and probably have about an inch out there. We're supposed to get up to 2, maybe even 3. Hey if it gets a 2 hour dela in the morning I'm a happy mama. LOL
I probably won't be on for the rest of the afternoon. I have to get ready and do some things around the house. Plus, once I pick Linds up from shcool I have to go to the bank for a meeting about my mom's will/trust. She's been gone for over a year and things still aren't settled with it. We're all hoping they'll tell us in this meeting that it finally is and then NO more meetings! :rolleyes:
Have a good afternoon everyone and stay warm! I think almost all of us will be getting hit by the arctic blast!
Happy Birthday TE!!!
:hug: Feel better Lori.
And yup. ISS duty again.
Here's hopin' today really is a boring day. No more girl fights and weed. As fun as yesterday was...I'm not in the mood for a repeat.
We had a horrid morning.
Apparently, Jon's teacher told him the world was ending in 2012.
Even if you believe that...please don't spread it onto my kid. Who has a tendency to become obsessed with things.
I've already been on the phone with the school. I AM NOT HAPPY.
Jon fixates on things.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr. :mad:
Oh, no she didn't. I'd kill them. :mad:
I think she is. She just asked me for food! :thumbsup2
Awesome!
We've just had a huge load of rain, just at school pick up as normal :sad2: I've got a conference call in 1.5 hours, they're so weird as you're not sure who's talking and whether you should :rotfl2: OMG can you imagine us lot on a conference call? :rotfl:
:rotfl2: That would be one expensive phone call where we would all try to talk at once:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Morning:goodvibes
An in-law free morning, at that :yay:
No time to catch up...but happy birthday TE!!!!!
I'll be back :cool2:
No body took any bets on when they'd leave Kate;)
I was up til 3AM stewing. I really think DS9's hives are because his teacher has turned him into a nervous wreck. I'm trying to send an email that doesn't contain explicatives, but I can't. She told him week before last that he needs his meds so he isn't bad. WTH? Not being able to focus is NOT bad behavior. I'm pretty ticked and need to send an email, but I'm having problems.
If one of Jimmy's teachers said that too him Iheads would be rolling. Jimmy says to me sometimes "mommy I just can't help myself, I have to move" I explained to him that that's what the medicine is for and hes told me he thinks it helps. Do you mind me asking what DS takes?
Yeah, the predicted "blizzard" here in Chicago was maybe an inch of snow. It's not even that windy. The sun is beaming down, so we should have NO issues getting home, thank goodness. :banana: I think it's still supposed to deep freeze here tomorrow, then follow us home for Thursday/Friday, but that's OK.
Safe travels!:goodvibes
Foot seems a little better today, not great, still wearing the air cast, but I do think I am on the right road, I just hope I don't need any more of those horrendous shots!!!!!!
Glad its getting better Mo. Cortizone shots are NO FUN:hug: :hug:
=======================================================
I just have one question. Who decided that today would be a good day for me to busy at work:confused: This is what drives me crazy. I am either soooooooooo busy I can't even take a bathroom break (sorry, TMI!) or I am sooooo bored I want to stab myself in the eye with a pencil. I just want a little consistency, KWIM?
I had 24 officers fitted for ballistics vests...that took 2 hours. Then I ran down to the School District Office do drop off some paperwork for Jim. Now I am back and people have been in and out of my office asking me silly questions---ACK.....Calgon take me away!
Janet,
We had taken DS off of vyvance because his teacher felt the need to stir the pot. His 1st report card was 300% better than the year before, but she had not read his info and felt that he could be doing better. She decided that he was depressed and sent him to the nurse, counselor and pschologist. We decided that sure it's possible that he could be depressed so we were advised to stop the Rx and see a psych. It takes time to find the right psych who accepts our ins and had openings. The teacher didn't like the speed of our actions, so called a social worker on us. :mad:
We tried off meds and he just couldn't focus. His appt is in Feb but they began testing yesterday, so we had to go back on meds for 1 month. In the meantime his grades dropped. Our county has this dumb system for elem. They get 1,2,3,3*, and 4. 3 is meeting grade level (to me is a C). It is not based on actual performance. If a child gets 38/40 that should be 95, an A. Nope, that is a 3. WTH? It is up to the teacher. :headache: His 1st report card he had all 3's; the 2nd was all 1's.
I'm just so freakin frustrated. Not all kids fit into their mold and I don't care about the other 19 kids in the class. I feel like they only care about meeting the goals so they can earn their bonuses.
Thanks for letting me vent; I am a bottler! :guilty:
Vent completely understandable. And I know about the difficulty finding a psych. We wound up paying out of pocket becasue the only appointment we could get was at the end of November and this was the end of September:sad2: We really like the psych we have now, so we are going to stick with her even though we have to pay out of pocket. On the plus side she thinks Jimmy is doing so well that she only wants to see him quarterly for med checks (after the first 2 visits). That's $100/visit (The initial visit was $500). I can do $100 every 3 months! Jimmy is on 18mg of ConcertaXR and is doing great with it!
That teacher was way out of bounds though. Is there anyway you can change his school? It just sounds like that place is not a good fit for him. Sounds like the teacher doesn't want to be bothered. I was looking at that site you sent, not all the schools are year round are they? That's tough if your kids all don't go to the same school.
No, not all schools are year round. I'm going to ask for him to be moved to another class. Problem is that it would be into his sister's class, which I am fine with, but the school like to separate twins. I am seriously considering home schooling.
1st, I have to pick a name. Focker Academy of fine learnin'?
They'll get over the whole seperating the twins when you give them your attorney's name;)
That sounds like a winner to me. Wanna hire Jim to teach Math and Science;)
Fisrt of all, vent my dear. Bottling isn't good for you.
Second, :hug: :hug: :hug: This is exactly my fear and concern with public schools; with No Child Left Behind, everyone's so comepltely focused on meeting goals to get funding that there's no room for individualized learning, which a whole lot of kids need. I don't have any suggestions, but wnat you to know I understand and I'm frustrated for you. :hug:
I am seriously considering home schooling.
:rotfl2: Can I teach Fuzzy Home Ec?!?!
Can I give them your name instead?
That sounds like a winner to me. Wanna hire Jim to teach Math and Science;)
Sure, but I can only pay in LGMH's! :rotfl2:
We do have a great need here for math and science teachers.
<<sniff sniff>> You all remembered! :lmao:
And I even got a GOAT cake!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
And Mo even sent me a card (50 points to you!
I'm glad I came home from work and signed on..........cause not one person at worked knew it was my birthday........
Now I'm happier! :goodvibes
Thanks V. :hug: Fuzzy home ec? You betcha! :thumbsup2
Yes, don't or do get me started on NCLB and More at 4. At our last school, a huge, huge room was dedicated to 10 count 'em 10 4 year olds while the kids who had to be there as required by law lost their computer room, art teacher taught from a cart, and another class was in a transformed closet. :mad:
I'm really beating myself up for letting the school talk us into DS repeating 1st grade. Aand I can't help but wonder if I have done or said something that he overheard and now he is scarred for life.
Happy Birthday! Did you like all the goat flair that I sent you on FB?
Is someone's birthday today? I can't think of who? Possibly someone who has pet sheep? :confused3
:lmao: Wow....I'm touched---this was at midnite........now, it would have been even MORE impressive if you'd waited till 3:55 am.......the time of my actual birth.......but there's always next year! :lmao:
I'm reading all the posts-----loving the goats!:lmao:
.........I haven't read my FB yet.........Ab left hers on so I'm taking the op to read hers..........it's NOT snooping, it's "proactive parenting" !:idea:
And yes, protective parenting is good.
Hey TE, I might be opening a school. Would you like to teach goatology?
NCLB Drives Jim crazy. With the new Math cirriculuum they have to use (Becasue of NCLB) it literally states on Monday you teach this, Tuesday you teach that, etc and gives NO Opportunity for review or refresh for those kids that don't get it the first time!:sad2:
Don't blame your self Slate. You are doinf everything you can do, it sounds to me that the school isn't very supportive:headache:
We prefer the term "caprine science".....but yes, I'd be happy to! :lmao:
OK Slate...We've got Fuzzy Home Ec and Goats covered. The only thing I'm really good at is locking people up...how about I do school security????
