I came home tonite from work and noticed the I forgot to close the coop doors and its really cold out. I think they will be fine though. if you feel under their wings, its really warm under there.

Slow here. We'll clean a bit to get ready and Kirt needs to run to Game Stop to buy one game.

Good morning, everyone! Just a quick drive by before we leave for Fort Wayne. Haven't checked the weather up there yet, but down here it's pretty balmy. I just took the trash can out to the curb (when I heard the truck down the street!!! ) and all the ice on the driveway was gone. It must be well into the 40s here as I didn't really feel cold at all.

DH came home last night with a fever and the chills. I'm a bit worried he won't make it to Christmas Eve at my brother's today, but I just felt his head and it didn't feel hot at all. Maybe he'll be okay to go.

Well, I'd better get to work. I've got to bring baked beans to my brother's (not my choice) and I wanted to put some bacon in them. So, I'm off to fry up some bacon (or microwave it). And then I've got to bathe the kids so that they smell good for Christmas!

Good morning Fockers! Forgive me for jumping right in without replying to the last few pages? I've read, though, and have many, many hugs to go around dear friends.

I'll admit, I've been more than a little melancholy the past few days. Partly because of Leo's absence, but also because that's just how I get this time of year. Gramma's been a holiday downer as long as I've been alive; she just isn't into the celebrating at all, which puts a major damper on things for me. Honest, the best Xmas I ever had was the one I spent alone! I was in Buff., with no family left there, and was told to take the day off from work, since I'd already worked Thanksgiving and would be working NYE. I bought a tree in a snowstorm on my way home Xmas Eve and decorated it that night. Next morning, my roomates and I opened gifts before they went to their families. I stayed home, watching movies I loved and eating the best pizza in the world (La Nova Pizzeria, in case you're wondering ). Really, it was wonderful!

Oops, I rambled. Sorry!

Anyway, tonight we'll be eating amazing food from a little Italian place around the corner and in a little more than 24 hours, Leo will be home and my Xmas will be complete.

I'm glad he'll be home soon.

I love being a mom and spending Xmas with my boys but I have a special place in my heart for the Xmas's that it was Bob and I were all alone FAR away from our families.

Actually, I already had this planned - I'm still DONE with WDW for a while. And Mickey's not getting much $$$ out of me when we do go; I'll be using that DVC kitchen for most meals!

But I did want to say that I got a new car!!
Got a 08 Ford explorer limited! It' dark cherry color (which is really the maroon Hokie color!!) with a black leather interior. It has nav and sunroof too so I've been playing with all the buttons! And of course it's 4wd to get up my driveway! The man had traded it in with only 3900 miles as his wife wanted somthing else, so I think I gotta good deal too!

Has ANYONE gotten cards....from me???

I have to go pick up a bookshelf I got for Mitch from a friend who is storing it for me and then my BIL decided he would like me to make an apple pie. Not my specialty but I'll manage. Well Jimmy got up at 6:30, so that means I was up at 6:30 . Made Jimmy breakfast (it was a tough one too - a toasted bagel with Cream Cheese ). MAde the macaroni and potato salads, prepped the green bean casserole, setup the sweet table in the kitchen, straighted and dusted the living room and dining room, and wiped down the hardwood floors. Jim is straightening the basement and pulling out the stockings and the angel for the tree (we don't do these until Christmas Eve). I still have to straighten and wipe down the powder room and then start breading the fish. Not too much left to do

It has been very icy here this morning, most of it has melted now as the temp has risen, but driving was bad according to the news. Jim was talking to his mom on the phone and she looked out the window as they were talking and someone slid right into 4 cars on their street. 1 was my FIL's car and the another was the State owned car that my FIL uses for work

one year we took two cars to his Parents house on Christmas Eve and Santa appeared at the house while we were gone. but I kinda want to open on Christmas Day this year.

We are off to see the "real" Santa at the Mall of America. He only takes appointments... and I had to fight tooth and nail to get his reindeer to let us come any day since we returned. Seems he booked himself up right after Thanksgiving, from what I was told.

The Stockings were hung by the Chimney with care...

In Hopes that we'd have a White Christmas...

The Children had completed their holiday performances...

The decorations were hung with love...

Mommies tree was delicately placed... For the children to not touch the Crystals in there place...

Instead they were given their own tree to "decorate" with all of the tiddings of love that they made...

Breakfast with Santa was complete...

And the Cards bringing tidings of love were stacked high...

Last, but not least... Focker Ornaments were in place thanks to a dear friend, named Janet...

And who couldn't forget a SS gift sent with much thought...

Hi everyone
Just wanted to jump on quickly to wish you all a Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah
I still dont have anything wrapped.
Tonight we have our families over for a big xmas eve dinner and pressies exchanged with them. Then tomorrow we spend a quiet morning with the boys opening presents then everyone comes back in the afternoon for dinner. I have been in my kitchen cooking for DAYS.
Hope Santa is good to everyone
