I don't know if I've mentioned that she has severe anxiety, too - along with the COPD (the oxygen problem) and just being sad about Grandpa. When I was a teen, I worked for them at their hardware store, and we were super close. I think I'm sadder that she is nowhere near THAT person that I knew and loved, than about Grandpa being gone. At least he's not suffering, you know? She was hospitalized for mental issues for a bit while I was in college and has been shaky ever since.

It's just this that makes an even bigger burden on my mom. :sad1: Grandma is VERY clingy to her, even at home, where they do NOT live together.

Sorry. It's just all sad and weird.

Oh, and I think I forgot to mention that D's trip from 1/1 to 1/5 was canceled. :headache: :rotfl:

I was just looking forward to a quiet day or two, once my parents left and he was out, too.

We weren't planning on anything big - maybe dinner - for NYE since he was flying the next morning, but now I might have to come up with a plan, too. Sigh.

Sorry, I'm apparently not in a great mood this morning! :rotfl2: I'll cheer up! :goodvibes

ETA: Thanks, ladies. I'll take those hugs. :)

Oh and before I forget and Jen1 beats me up:scared: . My last post and the PM is regarding Jen2 (Goofylover).

***And thanks to Kate for reminding me of this...Everyone is fine, Jon is fine so it has nothing to do with that!

::yes:: This happens only within our neighborhood, but we're all good with making them go home if we need to - and they walk, so it's not an issue of being picked up or whatever.

Oh, and I thought I quoted the ski question, but guess not. We took the boys once when they were 4 (nearly 5). We went quite a bit last year (well, D & Woody did) when he was 5 (to turn 6 in April). We see little ones all the time, and think we could have definitely started earlier in their 4 year old season.
Thank CE Bashful is only 3 1/2 but has good balance so maybe Ill give it a try

Buzz, Mom & I were gone for about 2 hours yesterday. When we left, Grandma was lying down, but when we got back, she was sitting in the kitchen. She said, "I didn't think you were coming back." Now, honestly. Where would we go? Mom pulled me aside later and said, "What, did she think we were all up and moving to Maine and leaving her here in the house with the dog and all your stuff?" :rotfl:

WTH!!!What happened to the mom calling to see if they can come over.... I was hoping it gets better but apparently not:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Dude. With cell phones, and teenagers there is NO warning. Half the time I don't know WHO'S going to be at my table for dinner. They don't call here, they call EACH other. The parents are NEVER involved (on the other side, if it's MY kids I make them call AND ask the parents!!). The other parents DONT drive, I do. They aren't home to supervise when my kids are at their houses either. If I send my kids somewhere i have to ask SPECIFICALLY, "Are the parents going to be there?????"

It makes me VERY VERY angry. What can you do though? I make my kids follow rules, I set specific times for pickup/dropoff so they know when they'll get their dang houses back to themselves. I do all the driving and I HIGHLY encourage my kids to have their friends HERE so I can monitor them.

Other than that, it's a disaster. NO ONE ever calls the next day to see when to pick up their kids!!!

Sorry. It's just all sad and weird.

Oh, honey! That is so hard. to you.

Just kick them out ::yes::

==============================

I sent everyone a PM, if you did not get one from me PM me and I will let you know what is going on. But for now, suffice to say Jen1 will not be posting for a few days:sad2:

Yup, I'm working on it!

===================

Got the message, and I am dying to know what she said....

Sorry, I'm apparently not in a great mood this morning! :rotfl2: I'll cheer up! :goodvibes

ETA: Thanks, ladies. I'll take those hugs. :)

You just take your time. You're entitled to some grumpy time if you want it.
Love you!

The Tree Is Down!

WOOOOOOT!!!

Ok, got a load of laundry done, made my bed, got to clean the kitchen next. AND get rid of this kid.

Then haircuts for my two boys, before the big storm hits. (Another 5 inches by morning, but Gus is ELATED!)

I have an appt with Dr. Seigle tomorrow, so we'll see how the weather is.

MEL

Janet- No punches kiddo. :)

I am having a heck of a time keeping logged into this thread...?

I have broke my fever, I am resting, whilst my DH is working from home taking care of the kids. I have a terrible cough (almost croup like) and still can't speak. I am sitting in my bedroom and planning on not moving, unless it is to my bed... which my back side is getting really sore from lying in. :confused3

I am thinking that I will need to cancel our NYE dinner party, as there is probably no way that I will recover by then. :sad1: I bought the best cut of prime roast beast too.:headache:

CE- maybe you should have a quiet evening in on NYE.

S'late- Which Crocs did you get?

Kate- I HATE JANUARY!!!

What happened to Tanya90210?

Holy cow, what am I in for:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I never even gave the cell phone thing a thought. Happy learned how to text but being only 6 he still has to ask how to spell things and its on MY phone so I can keep tabs...NEVER did I think forward about when he has is own phone:scared1: :scared1:

SO far Happy has great friends and we are very friendly with their parents but there are those few straggelers that I worry about

Mine will come down on Thursday and right now I can't wait!

(Another 5 inches by morning, but Gus is ELATED!)

Jim woul dbe so disappointed in him. His response would be, why waste a good snow storm when we are already off school!;)

Maybe you can postpone until the weekend. Feel better.

Thank CE Bashful is only 3 1/2 but has good balance so maybe Ill give it a try

I think he'd be fine! Plus, they don't tend to get hurt at that age, as they're low to the ground and rubbery. :rotfl:

Oh, honey! That is so hard. to you.

Thanks.

You just take your time. You're entitled to some grumpy time if you want it.
Love you!

Thank you! But, I like being cheerful, so I'm trying. :goodvibes

CE- maybe you should have a quiet evening in on NYE.

I would love to, but D may have other ideas! :rotfl:

I fear that when my grandmother is no longer around, my mother will become this way.

::yes:: My mom routinely asks me if she's becoming like Grandma and doesn't know it.

Okay, so for those of you with me on the anti-January band-wagon, mind if I ask why you dislike it? I know why I hate it, I'm just wondering if I'm crazy.

For me, it's just a blah month. It's cold, snowy, generally not even sunny cold days, very grey, nothing happens that's exciting...

My birthday is in February, so I don't mind it as much. :confused3 :rotfl:

Do you have to answer so many a day or something?
Need to do a minimum of 15 a week, it said that in the info when we originally applied back in September, just being wary I don't say anything I shouldn't :rotfl2:

Jo, you know I'm kidding, right?
You got my e-mail right?

I understand that she is a nightowl and everything, but couldn't she have called at 7pm? Then, he could have gone over earlier and made it home before midnight! He just left for work a few minutes ago and is exhausted.
Totally agree!

Jo stop worrying you will do just great. Remember they only pick THE BEST!!
Cant wait to check it out on the 5th.:thumbsup2
:rotfl2: I just watched my video and it's not good but definitely not bad :thumbsup2

Stop feeding them...they'll leave. :thumbsup2
:rotfl2:

I just went upstairs and there was 2 more of Happys friends there and I didnt know they were even coming over....HAPPY IS 6!!!!!!WTH!!!What happened to the mom calling to see if they can come over.... I was hoping it gets better but apparently not:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Wow can't believe at 6 they do that

"What, did she think we were all up and moving to Maine and leaving her here in the house with the dog and all your stuff?" :rotfl:
Obviously :rotfl2: I'm so sorry though it must be hard on your mum

::yes:: and of course she does...If she says no we will all beat her up;)
Hey  :rotfl2:

Sorry, I'm apparently not in a great mood this morning! :rotfl2: I'll cheer up! :goodvibes

What happened to Tanya90210?
I see her on FB and I know she posts on DM's site, not sure about Scott's

We have at least 2 more weeks with the trees up:eek:
I wondered what tree she was talking about :rotfl2:

Taxes. And I start feeling anxious about how much WE DIDNT do the last year....save money, lose weight, etc.

January's weather is AWFUL.

Nuff said.

Mel

Okay, here it goes....

January is a month of regrets and remorse. And what gets me is that it's not something we'd feel naturally, but something we're spoon fed. We endure October through December being handed candy, stuffing, and yummy treats. We are literally told to buy, buy, buy. And then January rolls around and suddenly we all have to lose weight, get fit, and buy oodles of plastic containers to store the oodles of stuff we just bought. We're made to feel bad for enjoying and giving. It makes me nuts.

Okay, vent over.

I did some planning last night! You guys are probably all :scared: that I've waited this long but for some reason I have just been in such a funk! But, that's gone now. Here is the latest plan:
1/25: Flying to Orlando (HEY, I BOOKED FLIGHTS LAST NIGHT! WOOT!)
Check in at SSR, hang out at pool (maybe) or DTD
1/26: Epcot
9 Dragons for dinner (it's chinese new year!!)
1/27: MK
Dinner at Cosmic Rays (yummmmmmmmm)
1/28: AK
1/29: Bob and SD do Wilderness Segway (dang, they love those things!)
Gus and I go to DHS- Meet them for lunch at Sci Fi
Fantasmic!
1/30: Blizzard Beach (big maybe, depending on weather)
Chef Mickey Dinner
1/31: Relax at the resort, maybe do some shopping
Fly out at 5 pm

I need to decide when and where to meet Angela/Mitch. And we need to find a spot to put a breakfast at the Poly (french toast!!!). So, what do you guys think?

The boys are all fast asleep right now. I am going to put the coffee on.

I'll be back!!!

MEL
I like Janet's idea about doing it before the water park (not that I think you'll swim!). But I would do it on the day you leave so you have a full tummy to travel on. :cutie:

Reid's out of surgery and doing well. My sis & BIL were on the way back to see him and he should be able to come home by 11.00. He's supposed to have a calm day today and tomorrow. How do you explain that to an 18 mo?
I'm glad he's out and on his way to healing. :goodvibes

I'm sorry I don't know, except going to the dessert buffet, I think they should sell them though as they're awesome! Oh and David congrats on the deadline :yay:
i looked them up on google and found a company who makes them for Disney, but we couldn't get them. :guilty:

Okay- I'm going back to page 108 to quote now. :surfweb:
