Poor Jimmy.

JO: I didn't feed Bob pancakes with apples. He's in California this week. :goodvibes Though cooked ones do not bother him at all. It's just raw. Congrats on your medal! I'm so proud of you. :thumbsup2

I have to go do some laundry even though I feel terrible. We are running out of socks and undies.
Take care, Fockers.

MEL

OK everyone I'm in panic mode. I just got a rate from AirTran for $59 each way for our August trip:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: THe panic part comes in becasue now I need to rent a car. WHere is the best place to find codes for car rental? Mousesavers? If I book something now and then find a better deal, will I be able to change the ressie? HEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPP!

Janet- I get e-mails all the time from Hotwire for car rentals. I've used them 3 times hotels, but I haven't for car rental.
I can forward some e-mails to you if you go to the site and it doesn't look very good. I would save a trip to Florida and they should send you e-mails weekely with deals. :thumbsup2

Mel- Feel better.

I'm packing. This is starting to feel real... :guilty:

Whoohoooty! :cool1: No idea about the car though. I hope Jimmy feels better soon.

Great prioce isn't it!:cool1:

:goodvibes That's sweet. All the e-mails are offers for Dallas car rentals, since that's where our trips have been to. I would go to the site and research the trip, then save a trip to Florida in your stuff. You'll get Florida offers that way. :thumbsup2

This is what I have done in the past....
UNLESS YOU HAVE SOME CREDIT CARD POINTS TO PAY FOR CAR RENTAL

I have used Cheap Tickets to find out Which car company's THEY SAY is cheapest..

I Then go Directly to their site.. usually find it cheaper.. and Majority of the time it has been "Thrifty" than was cheaper.
Unless you book a car with a Credit Card reservation ( at least with thrifty) you can always cancel and rebook when the rates get cheaper.. always jockeying down.

Last year we began with a Car for nearly 300.00 for 9 days.. by the time our vacation rolled around Taxes and fees included we got a Full size for 9 days for 153.00.

Or you can always potluck Hot wire or Price line.

I was thinking priceline name your own price, but I have never used them before.

Thanks for the info. I will try Cheaptickets and see what they have. Thanks!

DSIL got the best rate on our rental for our 8/08 trip from a Mousesavers code; however, they also only wanted to use National due to the Emerald Aisle club (which you can join free on Mousesavers). You might want to use Kayak.com to get a range of prices before you start punching in coupons. Beyond that, I'm clueless-I'll be making Fisher Price My First Car Rental this summer :rotfl: .

OMG....I never realized how expensive it is to rent a car :faint: With the great price I got for airfare though it will wind u p costing us about the same as driving AND I won't have Jimmy cooped up in my van for 1000 miles:banana:   To me I think it is worth it, no?

Have I mentioned that I hate toys? :headache: Aiden busted me taking some of his toys to the trash and garage sale piles.

I also wonder if he'd be too mad if all the stupid Webkinz didn't show up at the new house.

Probably. According to the school nurse this thing has been taking 4 -5 days to get out of peoples systems!:sad2:
Wow that'slong, hope Jimmy gets over it quicker

KAT I seem to have lost your email so I need to write here, when I've reloaded Word etc onto my laptop it won't do it :headache: I've tried several times and it says the pass code is wrong, well I'm using the one that came with it and used when I first loaded it onto the laptop 2 years ago, the discs are 7 years old though :rotfl2: So anyway I know what a whiz KC is and how you get loads of stuff free do you know of any cheap ways to get an alternative to Word that still reads Word? Thanks :flower3:

Car rentals have gone crazy lately...I'd keep an eye on the rates. But it's the taxes and fees that get you.

I think I'm going to tackle the school closet now.

Are you going to keep them home full time again now that you're moving or do you think you'll look for a co-op in Austin? (Austin, right?)

Yes Janet it can be HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE.. But usually they panic at the end and you can get great deals. But you have to check every week.. especially the last 2 months before the trip. The last 2 weeks before I check all of them every day.

You can also down grade. I'll keep a look out for you for deals on my end. This IS FOR AUGUST ... RIGHT ??
