Morning Fockers! It's freezing rain here!
Which turns my thoughts to vacations in warmer places...:goodvibes

We are thinking now about going to the Bahamas. Anyone been? Looks like we can fly direct (my favorite) from Charlotte for free (my other favorite). They have a HIlton in Nassau that I'm researching.
Thoughts??

Morning! I'm back to the insanity of work today and have a lot of catching up to do. :headache:

The washing machine arrived and I got 3 loads done yesterday - hooray for clean clothes! :woohoo:

Leo had a bad day at school, but finally has his first loose tooth, so I think Tues. was a wash for him. :rotfl:

Sending you all lots of hugs. :grouphug:
Have you gotten in touch with the tooth fairy yet? ;)
Good morning! Both kids are off to school. No small feat, as poor SD has a bad cold!! He had to go though because he's out of sick time at school. In the H.S., if you have more than 8 absences in a trimester, you have to make up any time over that after school or on Saturday! SD does NOT want to do that. He has until March 4th till he gets more time off though!

Gus is completely over the moon today! We finally agreed to get him a rabbit for a pet. He's been asking for YEARS. Bob and I found a great cage/indoor hutch on Craig's List for $40. It's brand new practically and came with a dish, a hay rack, water bottle, toys, and brush. This saves Gus almost $150!!!! We contacted a breeder about a bunny yesterday and got the pictures and info this morning from him. The bunny is SOOOOOO cute! We are picking him up Saturday. I'll post pics when we get him home.

Today I was supposed to see my therapist, but I've made an executive decision and decided that a lazy day at home in my pjs is good therapy too. :goodvibes I'll reschedule her for next week.

David: Loved the pics, glad you had fun. And I'm glad you're employed! ;)

Rachel: Miss you! Can't wait for pics.

Dawn: Morning girl! :wave2:

CE:  for your sick kiddo. for you too!

Kristel: Hope the roof repair gets done quick. Can't wait to see HS pics!

I know I'm forgetting someone but I am going to drink my tea before it's cold.

Have a good morning everyone!
MEL:banana:
  for Gus.

CE- I had Camryn up the night before last sick and she was totally fine yesterday. I wanted her to rest, but she wanted to run and eat bagel bites. I was praying that letting her eat them wouldn't be a bad choice! :scared: But she was fine. I hope your buddy is better quickly too.

Thanks, I'm pretty hopeful. He just declared that he wanted to get up and play, so I don't think he feels too bad.

CE, I'm glad you're feeling better...enjoy the day with your boy :cloud9:

Thanks. It's Handy Manny for now. ;)

It's another yucky day in SC...but it might mean I get out of taking #1 to lacrosse tonight. His state competition for Lego is Saturday and he's starting to have crazy worry dreams. Poor kid.

Oh, no.

Leo had a bad day at school, but finally has his first loose tooth, so I think Tues. was a wash for him. :rotfl:

Oh no, but oh good! ;) And hooray for laundry!

Gus is completely over the moon today! We finally agreed to get him a rabbit for a pet.

Nice!

I've not been, but it sounds heavenly. :cloud9: Good luck!

Morning all! :goodvibes

CE - Sorry Buzz isn't feeling well!

V - Glad the washer was delivered :woohoo: Must be the day at school too, Jimmy apparently didn't have a great day either:sad2:

Mel - A rabbit...cool:thumbsup2

Rachel - Hi :wave2:

Kristel - Don't you just love meetings that waste your time:mad:

Dawn - Disney planning is always a good thing!

Lessa - I wonder how inconvenienced other guests were with them being there:confused3

TE - Never been to the Bahama's, but then again I hate the beach so going to an island would be kind of pointless, no? ;) :lmao: Anyway, my brother and sister in law have been a few times and absolutely loved it. They are the sit on the beach and relax for a week type of people!:thumbsup2

David - Hi:wave: Looks like you guys had fun over the weekend. Will check FB later to look at theother pics

Rachel, T, Kate, Angela, Rosie, Kat, Katt (who'd I miss???) :wave2:

Another bad day at work here. One of my co-workers weeks old grandson died last night.:sad2:

Tyring to get a grant application done. V, I may be emailing you...I can't seem to make taking urine tests on offenders sound nice. Your poetic with the words, maybe you can help:rotfl2:

Man, Janet. It sounds like it's time to move to Florida. Too much yucky going on up there. :guilty:

Did you guys see the pictures of Suri Cruise in the Magic Kingdom? She is an adorable little girl, too bad not every kid can interact with Mickey, Minnie and Cinderella like that.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20259516,00.html

Awww...that is too cute!

Lori - I'm sorry about the van. I like your attitude about it. The one thing I've learned here is Fockers never give up!

Thanks! I was wanting to get walks in anyways but with this happening it really added fuel to the fire. Thank goodness we live in a small town and you can get to most things easily.

I finally found all my junk from high school. Lord! I was nuts! The pictures are so funny. As soon as I get some of them scanned in, I'll start a PTR. Don't hate me but I don't think I will put it on the DIS. I will share some of the photos with you guys. Those of you on Enchanted will see the PTR. It's just too time consuming to do 2 of them.

Speaking of which, guess who is on Facebook - my best bud, Rockie! She wants me to join. I told her you guys scared me off of it. There are just too many peeps from the past I don't want to deal with, IYKWIM. She laughed at me and told me I was a wimp. Whatever!

Ah c'mon Facebook isn't all that bad! ;) I have yet to post all my pics and things from when I was little or even HS. A lot of my friends have but nothing for me so far. I think I'm on Enchanted so maybe I'll pop in over there to read you PTR...sounds like it will be good.

YUP... HERE I AM AGAIN :sad2: :sad2: been awake since around 2:00 Sara woke me up and I can't go back to sleep. :sad1: ADD TO THAT... I believe I have caught what the kids have had, I have a headache and and nauseous

 Hope you start feeling better soon Katt!

It's all to real I'm afraid. You can find info on it on the Internet.

From what my Dr told me.. it's a vicious cycle. Some people get it who are in great shape..others look like me. It's kind of like the heartburn you can get while pregnant.
Add a weak "trap door" at the bottom of my food tube.. being pushed on by my stomach.. and working the abdomen muscles and it does not take much food to make me sick. how about 4-5 bites of bakes potato and 3 bites of steak.. with part of a small house salad. A kids meal has more food on it. I got heartburn from Jello and Milk a few days ago. That's just not right.

I can treat the symptoms... but was told there is nothing I can do to prevent it. My digestive system is so slow... I can have not eaten since supper.. exercise the next morning and be sick the rest of the day. Tried a day of "Slim-fast".. but the previous day's meals were causing my heartburn. have not tried two days of NOTHING but liquid meals.. may have to try that.

It's 4:30 Scott gets up in 30 minutes so I am going to lay back down.

That sounds like no fun at all! Something like that happened to my best friend and it ended up being her gull bladder (sp? :confused3 ) She still has problems with food at times.

Oh, no.

I love the positive note. Good girl! :thumbsup2

Thanks CE! Your right...it is a positive thing. It'll whip my butt to get into shape. LOL

I am planning both the kids birthday's this week. My boy was 10 yesterday and my girl will be 7 on the 24th. I can't believe how the time has flown :scared1:

Awwww...Happy Birthday to them! And your right time does fly!

Sorry had to break it into 2 parts. Too many smilies.

Well, we all got up and got going, but when the boys were eating breakfast, I finally really looked at Buzz, if you KWIM. His cheeks were really pink and his eyes looked a little glazed. I asked if he felt all right. "Yep." I took his temp and it was just over 99, which happens a lot, and I don't really consider it a true fever, especially since he's congested.

But I asked again if his head hurt or felt funny, and he said, "No, but I feel a little dizzy." So, I said, "Well, I don't think you can go to school," and he said, "But it's only a LITTLE dizzy." :rotfl: I think it's great that he doesn't want to miss school, :goodvibes but I told him that even a "little dizzy" isn't good, and combined with the temp... I took it again and it was up to 100.5, so he's home with me.

I'm hopeful that this is a congestion issue and that we may still be able to get Woody to yoga, etc. He isn't acting too "sick" as far as being lethargic or sad, so...

He's back in his pj's and happy on the couch. I didn't have anything planned today, but I wasn't counting on hours of Nick Jr. and the Disney Channel, either. ;)

So, I'll be in and out, probably. I hope you all have a great day! :grouphug:

Awwww, poor Buzz. Both of mine had problems sleeping last night because of colds and I think I'm keeping DR home today because of his cough and runny nose.

The weekend trip to Charleston was great and exhausting. Saturday morning was a trip to Magnolia Plantation. Saturday afternoon was a scavenger hunt through historic Charleston. Sunday we visited the Yorktown and the other ships at Patriot Point park.

I posted some pics over on FB. I'm trying to piggyback a copy below from the crew quarters on the USS Yorktown; hope it works, and says working.
n1370866835_1495533_7083.jpg

Well, I'm done with my coffee and breakfast, so I need to get ready and head in to the office.

TTFN!

Hi Mr. T! Looks like you guys had a fun trip. I saw the photos on FB but haven't had a chance to comment. Charleston sounds like such a neat place to visit.

Thanks Rachel! Goodness you are good!

Leo had a bad day at school, but finally has his first loose tooth, so I think Tues. was a wash for him. :rotfl:

Yay on the clean clothes! to Leo for the school day and hoping today is better. Yay on the first loose tooth!

Linds had an excellent day in school yesterday but came home with a yellow card on Monday. She has yet to lose a tooth either. I thought four sure by now but nope, nothing.

Rachel, T, Kate, Angela, Rosie, Kat, Katt (who'd I miss???) :wave2:

ME! :sad2: j/k

Another bad day at work here. One of my co-workers weeks old grandson died last night.:sad2:

Tyring to get a grant application done. V, I may be emailing you...I can't seem to make taking urine tests on offenders sound nice. Your poetic with the words, maybe you can help:rotfl2:

Oh man...how sad. :( And yeah that grant thing sounds like no fun.

Well, it's officialy noon here so...

GOOD AFTERNOON FOCKERS! :goodvibes

It sure as heck doesn't look like noon though...more like 7 AM and I just heard thunder!

DR woke up last night about 30 minutes after putting him to bed coughing like crazy. He's all congested and just sounds horrible. I tried putting him back into bed and he wasn't having it. I tried giving him cough meds and again he didn't want that. He wanted to watch kids shows on TV but I was watching one thing and DVR'ing another so I couldn't change channels. He threw a fit and ended up falling asleep next to me on the couch.

Then around 1 as I was getting ready to head to bed Linds comes down and runs for the bathroom. GREAT! She didn't get sick though but was complaining that her belly hurt her a lot and she felt really warm. Linds is like her dad though and the normal 98.7 does not apply them. They are just so hot blooded. LOL

We all ended up sleeping downstairs on the couches. When the alarm went off I soooooo didn't want to get up but we did. I asked Linds if she felt well enough to go to school and she said yes. She didn't feel warm anymore and she said her tummy didn't hurt her but I gave her instructions that if she felt bad to go to the office and have them call me to bring her home. She has a church thing after school today and gets to ride the bus to it and she looks foward to that. That's her reason for going.

That's pretty much my day so far. I have laundry to catch up on and some light cleaning to do.

Catch up with y'all later!

Does anyone here have a hamster, gerbil or guninea pig? I've been thinking about getting the kids one of them but just don't know. We've done the fish route and I hated the damn thing. I'll probably end up hating the hamster, gerbil, or guniea pig we end up getting as well.

A friend of mine growing up had guniea pigs and they were really very cute. I just remember the big cages she had for them (almost like bunny ones) and feeding it real veggies. I would look after them while she and her family went on vacation and loved the job. I of couse didn't have to clean up after them...just feed them. LOL

Just wanting to get some opinions before I end up doing this.

Hi Fockers,

Still sick and I am at work:sick:

I have a client conference call from 1-3 and will try to leave when that is over. I'm thinking of bringing stuff home with me and work from home tomorrow.

So where is T - I wanted to tell her I am really getting ready for California, North Jersey has had 2 small earthquakes lately. Maybe T and I can surf one together:eek:

Janet - that is devastating

V - tell Leo you know someone who didn't lose their first tooth until 3rd grade and at 42 still has a baby tooth.

CE - hope the whole family gets well and stays well

Katt - have you thought about getting another opinion.

I just scanned, but did I see that Jon has Jr RA? G-luv:hug:

Hi to everyone else!

Lori, haven't had hamsters or guinea pigs. Have had several gerbils though. They are preferred at my house for one reason: They are desert animals and pee very little. So, they don't smell! Hamsters pee ALOT.

They are fun to watch, though you can't handle them. They are WAY too fast for a child to catch and hold.

That's all I have! LOL
MEL:banana:

Ok, I'm getting out of here before I fall asleep on the couch again! BYE.

I am planning both the kids birthday's this week. My boy was 10 yesterday and my girl will be 7 on the 24th. I can't believe how the time has flown :scared1:

Ok I just read a little of your twilight fan fic....GREAT STUFF!!! You should write your own stuff, you're really good!

He's back in his pj's and happy on the couch. I didn't have anything planned today, but I wasn't counting on hours of Nick Jr. and the Disney Channel, either. ;)

So, I'll be in and out, probably. I hope you all have a great day! :grouphug:

Poor kiddo!

What a cute picture!!!

Today I was supposed to see my therapist, but I've made an executive decision and decided that a lazy day at home in my pjs is good therapy too. :goodvibes I'll reschedule her for next week.

You deserve a nice relaxing day!!!

We are thinking now about going to the Bahamas.

Gosh what I wouldn't do for some tropical weather right now.

Another bad day at work here. One of my co-workers weeks old grandson died last night.:sad2:

Good gosh when it rains it pours huh!?

I had hamsters when Iw as a kid, 2 actually. What I remember most was that they don't live too long. I think I remember the "Kathy, Buddy is no longer with us" convo more than having Buddy. :confused3

Still sick and I am at work:sick:

So where is T - I wanted to tell her I am really getting ready for California, North Jersey has had 2 small earthquakes lately. Maybe T and I can surf one together:eek:

Feel better! How's the foot??

Earthquakes, seriously? How did I miss this? I need to watch the news more often!

+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

Hiya everyone! It's carpy out (its flurrying) but I'm in a decent mood today!

Anyone ever done debt consolidation?? Any thoughts on it?

In light of the TV breaking and our credit cards being too full for my liking, I'm thinking of looking into this. Just a thought tho.

KC did get a projector TV from his uncle and so far it's great because he can project it on the wall and I can still watch TV at the same time of him gaming, so thats a def plus!

KC is building a computer for a friend today online so I need to clean up a little before he comes over, otherwise thats all I am doing today!

Anyone watch the real housewives shows last night??

CE - Sorry Buzz isn't feeling well!

Thanks, he's jumping all over whilst watching Diego, so I think we're fine. Makes me wonder why I kept him home, except that he DID have a fever. It's totally gone. :confused3

Another bad day at work here. One of my co-workers weeks old grandson died last night.

Oh, that just makes my stomach sink. I'm so sorry.

Thanks CE! Your right...it is a positive thing. It'll whip my butt to get into shape. LOL

;)

Awwww, poor Buzz. Both of mine had problems sleeping last night because of colds and I think I'm keeping DR home today because of his cough and runny nose.

I feel VERY fortunate - even when mine are coughing, it never seems to wake them up. I heard Woody hacking away (and he's the one at school) quite a bit whilst I was in the bath and getting ready for bed last night, but he doesn't remember. :thumbsup2 For him, the lying down seems to be the "coughing time" - not being up and playing. He was fine at his tennis lesson, etc. So, I'm not keeping him home when he feels fine during the day.

We all ended up sleeping downstairs on the couches. When the alarm went off I soooooo didn't want to get up but we did.

Aw, man. I'm sorry.

Does anyone here have a hamster, gerbil or guninea pig?

Nope, can't help there... Good luck!

Still sick and I am at work:sick:

 feel better!

Ok, I'm getting out of here before I fall asleep on the couch again! BYE.

Pshew, I'm not the only one? I was trying to get Buzz to stay down and therefore fell asleep myself on the couch - I don't think he ever did. He's really, truly fine now, though, I think.

I'm debating coloring my hair. I need to shower anyway, but I'm not sure that I want to do it with Buzz hanging around.

He's fine, so we're going to head out for yoga once Woody gets home, and then I scheduled them haircuts for right after, and we'll get dinner out.

We had a gerbil before we moved here. It was a nice novelty for a while, but the kids eventually ignored it. Then it started biting because it wasn't used to anyone handling it.
We gave him to a friend because he smelled and no matter how often I cleaned his cage it smelled. Not good for opne houses...

So, if you get one, I would make sure he's handled in an area that he can't escape from regularly. Otherwise, they get grouchy.

If it was me, I'd go with a cat. They're so easy to deal with.:lovestruc
Good luck!

In light of the TV breaking and our credit cards being too full for my liking, I'm thinking of looking into this. Just a thought tho.

We haven't needed it, but my college roommate (who's still a good friend) wound up doing it. I know it really helped her, just make sure it's a non-profit one. I believe that it reduced the APR's quite a bit. This was several years ago, though.

We did it years ago to pay off debt. We had to cut up our credit cards, which was fine by us. Then they negotiated a lower interest rate with the creditors so we could pay the debt off faster. Then, we paid them by automatic withdraw monthly and they paid the bills. It costs us $13 a month in fees to them, but after 2 years, we were debt-free.

Since then we've gotten one Mastercard and we have it for emergencies. :thumbsup2

The other choice is to do a Dave Ramsey approach and pay more to your lowest bill, then once it's paid off, roll that money to the next one until they all are paid off.

It really helped us. :cutie:

Hi Fockers,

Still sick and I am at work:sick:

Feel better Mo!

Good to know! :thumbsup2 That's my fear of one of them getting loose and not being able to find it. Y'all saw what my cat did to 2 mice I can only imagine a hamster or gerbil. LOL

Yeah, that's what I've heard as well. When we lived in TX we had friends who had gotten their DD a hamster and it died 3 days later. They didn't tell her and went out and bought a new one and I think that one then had babies. We moved so I have no idea if they still have it or not.

I personally haven't done it but did have a friend who had. She's a single mom and it was either that or bankruptcy for her. She chose the debt consolidation and I know it did help her. She was able to bounce back from it.

Anyone watch the real housewives shows last night??[/COLOR]

Yes, I watched both. Can't wait to see OC's reunion next week. They always seem to have boring reunions but I think this one will be good.

And I really liked New York's this year. Last year it was so-so for me but can't wait to see what happens this year! Did Jill and Bethany call Simon and Alex, Silex? I could have sworn I heard her say that while they were in the pool. :rotfl:

If it was me, I'd go with a cat. They're so easy to deal with.:lovestruc
Good luck!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We have a cat and Lindsey tourtes her already, I can only imagine what it would be like with a kitten or another cat. We'll see what I come up with. They will be with their dad for 6 weeks come summer time maybe I'll surprise them with something when they get back.

I'm sorry:flower3:

Oh man...how sad. :( And yeah that grant thing sounds like no fun.

I don't know how much more we as a depratment can take, KWIM?

Janet - that is devastating

Thanks Mo!

Anyone ever done debt consolidation?? Any thoughts on it?

::yes:: It worked for me. They negotiate with your creditors for lower interest rates and lower payments. Make sure their fees aren't outrageous. THe one I used has something like $2.00 per creditor, which wasn't bad..it gets added into your monthly payment. The payment is made to them then they pay the creditors. As Dawn said you have to cut up the cards you are paying oof, but in the end it is soooo worth it!

He's fine, so we're going to head out for yoga once Woody gets home, and then I scheduled them haircuts for right after, and we'll get dinner out.

Sounds nice!:goodvibes

Hi, DR! :goodvibes

Sounds nice!:goodvibes

I think it will just be fast food, as we'll have to shower all the little hairs off before bed, but it should be good. ;)

We've moved on to Scooby Doo.
