That happens around here frequently... being sick or recovering from surgery on the birthday's
The other cat may just not like the Vet smell I HAVE had that issue.. after a "BATH" all was o.k

Can't offer help on the Hyperthyroidism

Awwww...thanks for the birthday wishes...I'm new here so I know no one knows when my birthday is, well, was. LOL

Yeah I'm sure it's the vet smell - you can actually give your cat a bath? Mine would disown me to even think of that! They even hate if I pet them while my hands are damp if I've just washed my hands.

Heard back from the vet a little while ago - the rest of the tests confirm its hyperthyroidism, which from what I understand is actually a tumor that grows in the thyroid but it's not cancerous or anything. She said pills treats the problem but doesn't cure it and the pills are for the rest of his life. There's surgery which is risky if not done perfectly correct and the best option, radioactive iodine injection....it cures the problem, however, it runs around $1300 and requires a 3-5 day hospital stay where he'd be in total isolation due to the radioactive waste. Federal guidelines say it has to be cleared from the system before they can be released. Ugh. I don't know what to do. I would like to go with the radioactive treatment even though it sounds scary, but I don't think we can afford it. This is all making me feel even worse. :faint:

Roberta, hope you feel better soon! And, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! pixiedust:
Sorry about your cat, too. My MIL's had issues, had to be hydrated via IV tubes every day at home, lots of medicines, etc. It got to be a lot, sorry to say.

Thanks! Yikes that sounds scary about your MIL's cat...I hope it never comes to that with my cat. I'll do whatever I have to, but geesh vet bills are so expensive.

Sorry about your kitty, Roberta. Hope you feel better soon too.

Thank you!!

Happy belated Birthday and get better soon

Thank you!!

Ugh...that stinks about the cold! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! pixiedust:

Thanks!!

Someone a few pages ago mentioned something about their Acer laptop being broken (sorry I don't remember who it was - I'm on all kinds of cold meds and my stomach won't tolerate coffee...and I'm a total caffeine addict so I'm out of it) but I have a Dell laptop that I bought a few years ago, and just when it was about a year old, my cat knocked a cup of coffee over onto the keyboard. A small amount of coffee got inside and shorted it out. I sent it back, they had to replace the keypad and the part where the built in mouse is and the motherboard - cost me about $349....it was about $700 when I purchased it new. They sent it back and something was shaking loose inside. I had to send it back again. They sent it back, and it had some new problem - the screen would just black out. They had to replace the hard drive - which is built into the motherboard, so basically, they gave me a bad motherboard/hard drive...probably refurbished. When I need to replace my laptop, I probably won't get a Dell. Someone I know who works with computer programming recommended Acer but now I'm questioning that brand, too!

Evening all! Home from Jimmy's doctor appointment. It went pretty well. BAsed on some thing we said, some observations from Jimmy's teacehr and some observations of her own we have added Stratera (10mg) to Jimmy's Concerta. It supposed to help him stay focused a bit better and to also increase his appetite a bit! All in all she was very happy with his progress and so are we:thumbsup2

Jimmy is off tomorrow for teacher in-service day so he will go to his after school place for the whole day. We are not going to start the new med, at the doctor's recommendation, until Saturday so we can let the teacher know that the change will go into effect on Monday and also so we can observe him over the weekend!

Sorry I didn't quote everyone. HUgs to everyone who needs them:grouphug:

Off to talk to Jim about the 7 for 4 deal;) BBL!

I'm glad it went well and you were able to work with the teacher to do what's best for Jimmy. :) Good luck with the 4/3 deal. :cheer2:

I just wanted to say that I don't venture off the TFW board almost ever. And now I know why... :sad2:

When someone new says hello here, we always welcome them and don't treat them rudely. I'll just stay here in my happy place from now on. :goodvibes

I'm thankful for my Fockers! :grouphug:

I'm truly sorry. :guilty:

Jen...I'm fixin' to send ya' my itenerary, doll. :teeth:

I'm honing my stalking skills as we speak.
Yippee! I am bummed that Angela is gone when I am there. :sad1: I do think V should drive up and join us. ;)

Dawn- I went back and read the comments. Yikes! Robin may be a nice girl, but that wasn't the nicest thing. RUDE, if you ask me. :snooty: Just stay here. We LOVE YOU and I have never read a Focker comment that was down right rude.

Hey guys! What's shakin'?

Well looks like that 4/7 deal boots my brother to his own accomdations and I gain Waldo and TE and about 80 something DVC points back. :cool1:

So, Janet are you looking to be there around the 1st -ish??

I know I have alot to catch up on and Roberta : :bday:

So, my drama has settled a bit - basically we've been evaluating Evan for Kinder and whilst his teachers say he's ready academically, they don't believe he's ready on a maturity level. We've decided to keep him in Pre-K one more year to give him a chance to really fine tune his skills and mature a bit. It's really hard, but he is not only my baby, but the entire baby of the family, on both sides and is treated as such. :guilty:

I'm not sure where this will put my career - as I had hoped to get back into the work force this fall. But I guess things happen for a reason and I'm taking it all in with a little help from my friends. :goodvibes

Ahem.

So, whose gonna catch me up? :flower3:

T, When is Evan's b-day? I thought he and Tink were the same age.? no?

You enjoy that little guy for as long as you can. Before you blink you will be back to work and he will be grown!

T, we held Gus because he just wasn't ready maturity wise. He's the oldest kid in 5th grade now but he's never suffered for our decision. I'm glad we did it.
I have only good wishes for you guys!

MEL:banana:

Hello my friends and thanks for the hugs!:goodvibes Nothing new on that front.
It's Wednesday, so #1 has Lego. Did I tell you guys the team made it through the regional competition so we're moving on to state? They came in first for their research. Cool stuff.

Congrats to the kids. That's exciting!

Hi everyone! I'm home from work again today, but sick still...this cold has been hanging in since Jan 15th. :confused3 I took a vac day from work yesterday cuz it was my birthday and I felt too sick to do anything, plus, it was snowing all day and most of the night. DF is going to take me out to dinner when we both feel better. (I gave him the cold last week and he still has it, too) but I think the worst thing yesterday was finding out first thing in the morning that one of my cats has hyperthyroidism.

I hope you get fellin' better soon.

Happy Birthday!
I'm sorry about your kitty.

I've been reading, just haven't been in the mood to post. Got to deal with some stuff on the home front and well ... you know how that goes.

I'm sorry about your baby having to stay in preK. It is always hard when things don't go the way you expect them to. You have a good attitude about it. Just keep your eyes and mind open.

Hi everyone! It's SO cold here! OMGosh, I'm freezing! They said we might not have school tomorrow, it's so cold again. I'm SICK of winter!
Ok, I'm going to curl up with a blanket and watch tv. It's too dang cold to do anything else....
MEL

Busy, crazy day here! Running Tink from dance to playdate, dropped dinner to our friend who lost his wife, School District meeting after school and need to prep to teach my first Art Adventure class tomorrow to my DS's 1st grade class. YIKES! All the while I am researching grants for Literacy and playgrounds... getting ready to kick off our school fundraiser next Friday and seller packets for our Tinks Preschool Kids sale go on sale next week (which I am also chairing). No wonder why I can't catch up with you all!!!!! I can't catch up with MYSELF!

Miss you!

:faint:

I did find this amusing today though. I went to the post office after I dropped DR off at school. There was a younger guy at the counter being waited on and this grandma right behind him. He was done and as he turned around the grandma was like 'We do have stop signs here in *****side (our town).' He looked at her like she had 3 heads and was like 'excuse me?' She goes on to tell him he didn't even bother to stop at a stop somewhere and how that was not nice. I'm standing there laughing on the inside and being very thankful that granny didn't see my driving because I'm sure I would have been yelled at as well.

:lmao: I love it!

O.K... since this thread has such a great Title.. lets explore the mystery of how big is too big...

THere is this lady that has had I think 9 surgies to make her.. "girls";) Bigger.

As someone who has knowledge of how a large upstairs feels - she is nuts! Her back can not feel good. Unless all she does is lay on it. (I'm not making any suggestions here.)

Back at ya' :grouphug:

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I'm using some vacation and heading home early from work tonight. Thought I'd pop in and see what's been happening.

I'm doing some shopping in the AM tomorrow. Groceries, the bookstore, and probably swing by the mall to see if there are any deals to be snagged. It's probably a little early yet for the good deals. I think I'm going to hit my all time fav. Bed, Bath and Beyond too.

I am determined to actually get some things accomplished this few days off. Firstly - find my highschool stuff. I want some pics of Rockie and I to post in my upcoming PTR.

BTW - I was checking through some saved TRs and saw quite a few that have had no updates in quite some time. :sad2: Wha' happened?
Hope tomorrow is a good day for all of us!!!

Evenig all !! Home from another long day !! But I got a lot accomplished and feel like I maybe seeing the light at the end of the tunnel Now tomorrow I have to tackle a job that wa due Jan 27th!!:rotfl2: I was told last week that my Computor is corrupted!! Personaly that was WAY nicer than what I called it !!!:rotfl2:
Sorry about your color writing not being appreciated Dawn !! Don't they know those are Dis colors !!!:rotfl2:

 Rosie. For some reason I'm thinking today is Tuesday and that you were supposed to have the day off. But nope, today is Wednesday and I guess back to work for you.

I've had a wonderful lazy day. I just stayed in bed and my pj's all day and watched shows on my laptop. It's been fabulous!

Ok, going back to shows.

TTFN!

Sounds like a great day Z!

 The radioactive treatment does sound scary. And I so know how you feel. I felt like the grim reaper when I had to call the vets on Monday to have my dog put down. My dad took her in for me because I just couldn't do it and it was like dath walked in the door when he came to get her. :(

:hug; T. I know how you feel about the whole school thing. DR is in preschool right now and while he does really well he's just not there socially yet. He does still have another year of PreK before Kindy but even then I don't know if he would be ready. He is such a mama's boy and is so shy, just like his mama. Only time can tell.

Buenos dias mujeres. Just a quick  dolls.

Have a wonderful, happy, healthy day!

Thanks Jen!! I`ll take it and use it for tomorrow...

Good Morning Girls & Mr. T.! :goodvibes:

I've been reading, just haven't been in the mood to post. Got to deal with some stuff on the home front and well ... you know how that goes.
Hope everything is okay...and I read a few pages more after this post and found out more. so now I know they are okay..:goodvibes

I've posted it before, but it's super easy. 3-4 chicken breasts, 1 medium onion, chopped, 2 cans cream of chicken soup. Throw that all in, put enough water to cover it. 8-10 hours on low or 5-6 on high. With 30 minutes left, crank it to high and put in some uncooked egg noodles - I use less than a whole 12 oz. bag - and let it be. :thumbsup2
Thanks CE!! I`m going to the store tomorrow!!
Pssst... just wanted to make sure the Fockers saw this: 4/3 deal extended through Aug. 15: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2079803
Hmmm,,,thanks V! I`m thinking of a long weekend for me and Sam for his 16th birthday in june. My friend put in for the 2 free SW tix for me. But I dont want to stay at Disney that long,, plus,,I have been hearing reports od WDW being really busy when it should be a slow time. I dont get it? :confused3

I'd say you can bet on it. ;)

Ya wanna know how big of a weirdo I am? I've now been searching for "donkey lips" in the pic. Can't find 'em. :lmao:
